Known for the breakout hit “Ya Supérame,” they became the first banda act to chart on the Billboard Hot 100, performed at Coachella, and pioneered regional Mexican stadium tours in the U.S., with past singles earning between 100 million and over 900 million Spotify streams.Released on April 2, 2026, via Music VIP and Virgin Music Group, “Cabrón y Medio” marks Grupo Firme’s first-ever mariachi single — a significant stylistic shift from their signature brass-heavy, fast-paced banda sound. Produced by Joss Favela and Ricardo Orrantía, the track features traditional mariachi instrumentation including violins, guitars, vihuela, and guitarrón. The music video, directed by Mane Borja, shows Eduin Caz in charro attire and presents a broken-family narrative centered on post-breakup regret and emotional vulnerability. Key lyrical themes explore reflection on lost love and the way alcohol blurs memory versus reality, delivering a more introspective tone compared to the group’s typical party-driven catalog.Early performance metrics show strong initial traction with approximately 48,000 YouTube views within hours of upload and simultaneous availability across Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. The release follows a digital-first rollout strategy similar to pandemic-era successes, supported by a Billboard exclusive premiere, emerging TikTok clips, YouTube Shorts, and social virality. This aligns with the proven growth pattern of Grupo Firme’s previous viral hits.Strategically, “Cabrón y Medio” represents a major artistic pivot that expands the group’s reach beyond core banda playlists into new mariachi territory, adding cross-genre credibility while maintaining authenticity through established producers. It differentiates from their party anthems by leaning into emotion-driven storytelling and supports the ongoing “La Última Peda Tour” across South and Central America. As the first solo release of 2026, it follows high-profile collaborations with artists including Gloria Trevi, Grupo Frontera, Luis Alfonso Partida, and Lenin Ramírez. This segment positions “Cabrón y Medio” as a calculated evolution rather than immediate chart dominance. With modest but structurally strong early signals, the track is set for delayed viral growth through the TikTok-to-streaming-to-chart pipeline that has defined Grupo Firme’s biggest successes. Analytic Dreamz examines how this release reinforces the group’s longevity and expands their genre identity in regional Mexican music.Privacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

Starting point is 00:00:00 Shepard, promise me you'll tell them to subscribe for any free content. Now over here on the notorious mass effect podcast, you already know that we put huge respect on every genre in the music industry. And the reason why I started off like that, because of course this is the first time me covering this specific Latin artist. As if you don't know, when it comes to Grupo, for my English listeners out there, that means group. You know what I'm saying? You guys. Okay, you probably already knew that. But anyways, I've covered.
Starting point is 00:00:32 the plethora of group of artists such as groupo frontera groupro quintana um who else groupo marco amy registrata i think that's how you pronounce it but you know the main thing is over here we definitely dive into a lot of the different notoriously mass affecting sounds in the music industry and guess what we're back with another one as groupo ferme with their particular track cabrone y media and of course if I'm mispronational or butchering it, guess what? I'll try my best. I kid you not. So when it comes to Cabron while Medio,
Starting point is 00:01:06 that specific track, as far as the music video, is currently the 45th most played video in the world. And of course, you know your boy's dreams had to do his due diligence. And of course, look up who this group was under. Because we're going to get to the upbringing in a second. But when you look at the overall infrastructure, as far as music VIP entertainment which this specific track is under it was put out through because if you don't know This track came out this past Thursday so such a new release already notoriously affected the masses is such a great sign
Starting point is 00:01:45 Especially for this group so getting back in a music VIP entertainment their independent Mexican record label Management Company founded in 2012 by Izil Gutierrez I think this I said the CEO and the him his brother Everett, Everett. And it focuses on regional Mexican genres such as Banda, Nortino, Coritos, and, of course, over here at Natura's Mass Effect, we've covered a plethora of those genres. So now, when you get back into Grupo Fermat specifically, them putting out music through this label, safe to say that they are currently outperforming a lot of other acts on that specific label as even though the label is known for grassroots talent as far as breaking those type of artists. I think currently you can objectively say group of firme is putting up the better numbers from that music label. So now when you look at group of Fermat as far as what they were doing before they blew up with Cabrón-Wa media is very apparent that they've been doing this for quite some time.
Starting point is 00:02:50 As in 2014, they was in Tijuana, Baha, and then California. as far as the vocalist, Edwin Cass, with earlier collaborators, such as people playing corridos, Nortino, Banda, at small events and weddings, and Kincereras for a modest pay. And then, of course, continuing, they started to break out more with the particular albums, like in 2017, Pasado, and then you have Presente, Futuro, I guess it was putting out a lot of albums in that year. And of course, the real breakout, like, of course, that did well as far as being grassroots, being in front of your fans. But 2019 to 2020, they started to notoriously affect the masses after signing to music VIP entertainment with their viral YouTube covers like Calibre 50s, L. Amor No Fuie Pami. I think that's how you pronounce.
Starting point is 00:03:44 And then hits such as Pita May and El Roto. And of course, when you look at that rise to fame after signing to a major label, I'm not going to say it's a. impossible to blow up to superstar well it's basically impossible to blow up to a superstar without a major label but to blow up like to where you're comfortable whatever like well not whatever but you know in the modest lifestyle um it's not impossible without a major label but if you want to get to the superstar like notoriously affected the masses type of numbers you do need a major label so when it comes to that it's very apparent with this particular group as after they signed them music VIP entertainment they started to blow up on the chart.
Starting point is 00:04:23 So when you look at their accomplishments, their breakout hit, which was Yaa Supreme, basically they were the first band act ever on the Billboard Hot 100. Of course, Grupo Fermi, they've also performed at Coachella among the first to push regional Mexican stadium tours in the U.S. Hold on, drop another bomb for that one.
Starting point is 00:04:50 And of course, it's still going as of right now, and even with this latest single, notoriously affected the mass. I think that connoisseurs of group of Fermé will be pleased to know that they are currently on the La Otima Pita tour that was announced in 2024, extended in 2026. Now let me tell you something. Whenever a musician extends their tour, that means it's going well. That means that people are definitely showing the demand to add more dates. It's always a great thing when you're able to extend your tour because guess what?
Starting point is 00:05:23 That means people are showing up in droves and they keep coming back. So now, when you look at their tour specifically, extended into 2026, and then they have dates across Latin America, including Santiago. Oh, that's what rest is from, you know what I'm saying? Shepard. I'm a fault. I think that was just his album name. But you have Latin America including Santiago, Chile from April 3rd or the 4th. So that was just in the past.
Starting point is 00:05:48 And, of course, in the future, you have Medellin. Columbia is April 18th. Cali as far as April 25th and upcoming Mexico stops. So just know that if you was wanting to watch them live, is definitely a plethora of opportunities to see them, perform their music live. And with that being said, I think the biggest thing,
Starting point is 00:06:06 if you don't take anything out of this, is that longevity is definitely something that's not as respected in the music industry, in my opinion. So that's why I love being able to shine the light on these type of artists. Because, of course, being the first band ever, to be on the, being the first band to act, to be on Billboard Hot 100 is no small feat.
Starting point is 00:06:26 So to be able to highlight that at one, you know, I feel honored. But two, I think educating people who are honest connoisseurs of music, as far as letting them know how vast the different artists are as far as that are notoriously affecting the masses, I think it just goes to show that the internet, one of the greatest things that it gave us is the ability to get outside of our palette and learn more about different cultures. So with that being said, I think that's basically a they're on tour. Make sure to go, you know, watch them live if you're a huge Group O'Firmay fan because it's my first time ever covering them. So with that being said,
Starting point is 00:07:04 click my link to me in my bio. Let me know in one of my social medias. What do you think about Group O Fermay as a group? And of course, if you're a huge fan of them, what is your favorite track from Group O Fermat? Of course, are you going to be going to watch them live?
