Now, of course, when it comes to me putting respect on the mobile gaming community, you have to acknowledge how I've definitely covered a lot of mobile games throughout the podcast.
Since my declaration that I would dive into a lot of the mobile games, such as Squad Busters, Cookie Run Kingdom, Mobile Legends, Bang Bang, Marvel Contests of Champions, and I even, in May 20th, 2024, I even put out a segment,
talking about the best emulators for Android and iPhone in the year of 2024.
Shepard, just look at the state of gaming.
Like, what is going on?
But all of that pales in comparison to the mobile game that we're about to get into right now
because who would have thought that in my declaration to put more respect on a mobile gaming community
that I wouldn't start with this game.
Because ladies and gentlemen, what we are about to get into is literally, objectively speaking,
the top grossing mobile game of all time.
Earning over 18 billion with the B in lifetime revenue as of 20, 25.
Now ladies and gentlemen, you probably already thinking to yourself,
well, what game could this be?
You're probably talking, you're thinking,
I'm about to get into PubG Mobile,
you're thinking we about to get into Candy Curts saga,
you think we're about to get into Gantian Impact,
which of course rounds off.
off the two through four of the top five but guess was at number one ladies and gentlemen we're
about to get in the honor of kings which if you don't know was developed by timmy studio group which
is under tinsent games and then of course this started this uh development group started off in
2015 with under a hundred staff members but now in the year well as of 2021 so it's probably more
it now in this year but it grew from under a hundred staff members but
in 2015 to 400 plus by 2021 so safe to say they're definitely noticing the rising engagement for
this particular game as when it comes to the publisher obviously is tinseng games but this being a
mobile game that is out on ios android harmony OS etc so with that being said the main thing
i wanted to talk about as far as this particular game is that not only did it come out in 2015
and definitely notoriously impact the masses
But as far as the overall revenue and how they generate revenue,
safe to say that micro-transactions is rearing its ugly head once again.
Shepard, just look at the state of gaming.
Like, what is going on?
So ultimately, looking at the state of gaming,
we already know that micro-transactions is one of the top factors,
if not the number one factor,
on if your game's going to be the most profitable and the highest grossing.
because of course when it comes to call of duty every single year being a top selling game on console
microtransactions as activision tray art they come out time and time again and say that if y'all don't like micro transactions
then why in the world do we keep selling number one like call of duty developers i'm not going to lie to you
they'll let you know exactly how they make money off you and people still buy the micro transactions to this day
Shepard. All right. So as far as the mobile side of things, it's no different. As the skins slash
heroes in this game, as far as honor of kings, it ranges from a dollar to $10. So safe to say,
a lot of people are liking certain characters and scans in this game, or else they wouldn't be
spending so much money to the point where the game we're talking about is the highest grossing mobile
game of all time. I'm going to keep reiterating that because that is a definitive objective fact
that is insane as far as in the mobile landscape because you know mobile brings in all type of money
as far as the gaming industry as a whole diving more into the gaming industry right let's switch over
to the women gamers out there as shout out to y'all surprisingly honor of kings has a whopping
54% female base which is very unusual especially for a mobile game in the esports arena right because
male players typically dominate the mobile ecosystem, especially the e-sports.
But the high female engagement on honor of kings made me wonder, why in the world are people,
no, why in the world are women gravitating to this game versus other mobile games?
But a lot of my answers, a lot of my questions were answered when they basically said,
honors of kings cosmetic skins and narrative driven events resonate with a lot of women so i was like hey
you know whatever gets the job done you know because very interestingly enough you know g-i-jo is not
the only one that's out here saying no one is half to battle as when it comes to women in the gaming
industry they comprise um if that's the right word basically they accumulate to 45 percent of global
gamers with 72 percent of women all uh playing online games and
And ultimately, when you look at the age range, women age from 45 to 64 is the fastest growing in the gaming industry, which is kind of crazy.
You know, as far as I think what it is is that usually when you grow up, technology advances, right?
So basically, back in the day, I would say there's not a lot of games that made you want to play on mobile, right?
but nowadays with the evolution of gaming
if you grew up with a game
you played on console if it's on mobile now
and you're a little older I think you'll be
more inclined to play that specific game
not saying that's the case here but it
is very interesting as
when you look at the United States numbers
for women 41%
of US gamers are women
and the spending power is
definitely underutilized as far as reports
but of course as in honor
of kings it is not so
maybe honor of kings is on to some
as far as having a majority women player base because that's usually not the case with most
esports games i mean 54% female player base is insanity so anyways with that being said
esports let's get into that as when it comes to the millions upon millions you can win in the
esports lane of honor of kings more specifically king pro league plus the world champion
Cup equaled around 15 million as far as ecosystem and rivaled
League of Legends as far as e-sports events, right?
So safe to say that this particular game is doing phenomenal on the sales side and
the quality perspective as people have been playing this game for quite some time
and for the foreseeable future unless something drastically changes.
Now, if you're unaware of it.
of this particular game.
Just know it did come out in 2015, but it came out globally in 2023 slash
24.
It came out in Brazil, March 8th, 2023, and it came out worldwide.
Oh, actually, it came out worldwide June 20th, 24.
Came out in Brazil, March 8th, 22nd, 23, came out in South Asia, Turkey, February 22nd,
20, 24, came out worldwide June 20th, 24.
And of course, it's a spinoff of honor of King.
King's World, which was a PC console, mobile, no, the spinoff, Honor of King's World is to be decided
as far as that specific release, but it is getting a spinoff.
And the exclusivity is for mobile only, but of course a PC game is find every single way
to play every game possible.
As far as every game you can imagine, PC players have found a way to play it.
So there's an emulator, and ultimately, they do say like the mobile game is still,
the best version but there's the PC option if you was wanting it so aside from the sales and
overall what's to get what is the game about when you look at it and try to dissect it as far as
learning about it you'll come to realize that honor of kings the mobile game is a 5 v5 mobile
moba three lanes turrets crystals and then you have the match length which is 15 to 20 minutes but
is uh very uh considering considerate of your time as far as
as you putting time into each and every match, you don't feel like it's long and drawn out.
It's very quick, get in and get out type matches.
So every single match is 15 to 20 minutes.
Now the roster, the roster is something else I was wanting to get into because, of course,
when you look at 100 plus heroes in the game, you'll probably think it to yourself.
Shepard, just look at the state of gaming.
Like, what is going on?
But then you come to realize this game has been around since 2015.
So as far as having a hundred plus heroes, 80 plus at global launch, safe to say that the balance is there or else I feel like people would not be playing the game.
Now, I'll be hard pressed to tell you there wasn't a meta.
I don't know the matter because I ain't played the game.
So when it comes to that, 100 plus heroes, I would be hard pressed to find if every single one of those is viable.
I'm pretty sure there's a status quo in the meta.
So as far as progression, there is a count level cap at 30.
And then there's the mentor system, some of their abilities of gold base unlocks.
And then when it comes to the unique features, it's the first MOBA with a joystick controls versus tap.
And then high profile soundtracks as far as Hans Zimmer and Joe Hisashi.
I think that's how you said.
At the 2019 Global Music Awards, I guess they won the gold medal.
Not too sure about that one.
Anyways, they had high profile soundtracks, which is, you know, part for the course.
course if somebody if something is popular usually a lot of people clamor or no every a lot of people
flock towards that specific IP whatever is it is at the time that's popular so as far as the story
there's no main campaign is strictly multiplayer focus the time advancement like i already talked
about is 15 to 20 minutes per match and then the rank climb slash events equals hundreds of hours
so if you're going into the rank format obviously if you're going to be playing multiplayer which is the
main thing about this game safe to say you're going to be putting a lot of time into this and of course
with the lore based on chinese mythology is tied to heroes backstories but it's not as structured as
you will like as far as other story mode games as far as on console that you're accustomed to so
all of that is basically to let you know that honor of kings the mobile game is unequivocally
the number one most popular mobile game as far as financially and a
of course their player base as throwing around $15 million as far as esports tournaments is no
low number you know it's no small fee so when it comes to this game i think the female base is the
most interesting stat as far as letting you know who really can help a game top the leaderboards
if you try now i'm not going to say try to pander towards them but if you start to have certain women
support your content
objectively
financially
and if they genuinely
mess with the overall
gameplay loop
no telling where your mobile game
could go so maybe honor of kings
was on to something
so with that being said
number one grossing game
ever want to keep reiterating that
because guess what every other mobile game I
cover as far as
me giving kudos to the mobile gaming
community we're not going to be able to say
that statistic is only for honor of kings
And that's just the longevity statistic.
Because once again, it's the honor of kings that's grossed around $1.4 billion.
And then you have PubG Mobile that's grossed around $1.1 billion, candy crush saga that's made around $957 million.
Genshin Impact made around $944 million.
And of course, Roblox made around $869 million.
So those are the top five most profitable mobile games.
in the on planet earth let's just put it like that so no small feat huge accomplishment by
honor of kings hopefully you'll check it out because at the end of the day they always rework
certain things as far as putting out patches they always recognize uh you know the player base and
try to give them more exciting characters and just different type of doc because a hundred
plus characters is insanity massive hero roster is a is a understatement
So with that being said, that's the main thing I want to get into.
As far as Review Roundups, Pocket Gamer, they came out in July 2024 because this is an older game.
So it's really just a mobile sales roundup just to let you know what type of impact this game is making.
But as a classic mobile, mobile game, praise for accessibility, freebies, matchmaking, and lacks innovation.
That's what Pocket Gamer said.
Pocket Tactics came out and said it's a large hero.
roster praise criticized clunky menus low performance mobile exclusivity seen as limiting so when it
comes to Metacritic they say it's one of the best mobile mobas of all time and they say the only
issues is the I guess client lag I don't know what that means poor support and bots and lower
ranks and then the app on tap tap came out and praised it on the hero variety and complained about
certain animation glitches so at the end of day everybody's having huge praise for this calling it
one of the best mobile games of all time crazy how i just now got around to this seeing that i was trying
to put more respect in a mobile gaming community but hey you know what they say better late than never
so that being said click my link tree in my bio let me know one of my social medias what do you think
about my honor of king's mobile game review uh sales and review round up and at the end of the day
if you haven't played honor kings or more importantly if you have and you're a woman what
What makes Honor King stand out the most amongst other mobile games in the e-sports arena?
