Starting point is 00:00:00 I don't know why I believe Ian Connor was independent. I believe it was because I saw 10,000 projects and I said to myself, there's no way that this man is doing all these streams and is independent. So I just went on about my day thinking he was independent. But with further research, I've realized that 10,000 projects is not only an independent record label, but it's also the distribution handled by version music, which plot twist is a division of Universal Music Group. Boy, they know how to trick you, don't they? I'm not going to lie. If I was a musician, I'm looking for an independent record label,
Starting point is 00:00:52 because I'm going to say I'm independent to the day I die and still be signed under Universal Music Group. That stuff is crazy. Like, they've really been hiding it. They be hiding it in a way that will make you think that your favorite musician is just out here doing a million streams being played on the radio simply because they like it when the hip-hop game and the music game does not work like that so with that being said of course i'm not hating on e and d or of course you know get it how you live but he has put out a new track as a single titled you don't even that's available on all DSPs, obviously put out under 10K projects.
Starting point is 00:01:35 And the biggest reason I want to highlight this is because of the way that Ian Dior has been streaming. Now currently, if you look at his tracks, he hasn't really had a heater in a while. It's a lot of different tracks that's been doing well, streaming-wise, but are from like 2018, 2019. And let me see. Oh, no, also 2020 had a nice track.
Starting point is 00:02:02 with uh what machine gun Kelly what's his name yeah machine gun Kelly and Travis Barker I don't know what that is actually yeah I think he was on a Kardashian show or something anyway anyway that's why so disrespectful to the Travis Barker fans out there but but um Ian Dior is uh artists I don't pay too much attention tours simply because it's just not my cup of tea I listen to it I don't like it I move on so the thing I want to highlight is that he does have new music out doing well when it comes to streaming 12.3 monthly listeners he is under universal music group i don't care what type of uh wizardry they want to use to disguise the fact that this man is still under a division of universal music group but at the end of day hey get it how you live i just had to
Starting point is 00:02:51 point that out because for the longest for some reason just because i didn't know what 10k projects was i thought this man was independent but it's very interesting that these independent record labels are starting to pop up under certain labels that's under the big dogs such as universal music group because that makes it easier to manipulate the fans into thinking you're actually independent so it's smart it's very smart until somebody listens to this segment and realizes that they've been straight up bamboozled straight up hoodwink and to quote my man stevenay that's just straight up Blastphemous. So anyways, click my link to you in my bio. Let me know one of my social media is, what do you think about Ian Dior and his status in the hip-hop game, and will you be giving
Starting point is 00:03:41 his latest single, You Don't Even, a Listen?
