Starting point is 00:00:04 Talk about a throwback. Ice Cube is back again with a track titled, It's My Ego. It reminds me of when musicians will come out and say, maybe it's me, because the ultimate realization that some of the things in life were caused by you, right? And as far as the overall discography of Ice Cube and him putting our music, it says since 19, But of course, that's DSPs and, you know, Ice Cube's been around for a minute. I mean, if we look up, I mean, I hate to do this to the man, but I mean, Ice Cube age, you know, I'm not trying to have a Kevin Hart moment. But goodness, this man, 55. So this man older than hip hop technically, because then the hip hop just celebrate his 50th anniversary. So if Ice Cube's 55 and hip hop is 50, isn't that wrong?
Starting point is 00:00:58 No, I'll just play. I'm just joking. So obviously it makes sense. But I just want to say the Ice Cube is one of the more pivotal play. players ever in black entertainment. So with that statement being said, I wanted to transition into an interesting tip bit. I found an official Ice Cube website that is maintained by Ice Cube himself and this team. Talk about having a comprehensive hub for all of your projects, including music, movies,
Starting point is 00:01:26 tours, merchandise, just showcasing and just cementing why you are one of the greats when it comes to some of the black entertainers in it in just history just period right so putting respect on ice cube's name let's click around his website uh once again analytic dream well actually actually i guess it'd be a great time i'm doing more of a soft launch so it's not more of um it's not public launch yet but i am doing video with my new setup and i'm putting it on patreon yes ladies and gentlemen the analytic joe button is here so basically yeah uh the whole platform as far as having a video element to it is now up on patreon so you can sign up to that and also i'll definitely recommend you listening to my episode if you want to hear more about that as far as uh the patreon is
Starting point is 00:02:20 considered but it's more of a soft launch i'm still getting things together but uh we're going to be rolling it out in the next two to three months so yeah with that being considered So you have to come over to there. I may put it out on YouTube, but if it does, it's going to be way later. Patreon's definitely going to get it first because I want them to get their value out of it. So anyways, Ice Cube, filmography. When y'all look at this, I mean, just tell me this not black excellence. I mean, look at this.
Starting point is 00:02:48 I mean, goodness. Talk about classics. Boys in the Hood. All of these, all about the Benjamins. Are we there yet? Barbershop. I ain't even talk about the first. barbershop first barbershop right here 2002 this man is oldest no i just let me chill all right
Starting point is 00:03:10 all right along straight out of compton right along to barbershot the next cup this is the one with nicky in it i think um but yeah just his whole filmography right here obviously of straight out of compton because of course his son played in that and he was a pivotal part uh part as far as you know making sure the the story was true to self right so you know he just has a whole website just you know just really showcasing how much of an icon he really is i mean on tour he has his tour dates right here i mean i mean this is just like this is something else just this man got a whole website i mean obviously i'm not like blown away that of him having a website i'm just blown away on how like this is a great ui like this is just as a nerd when it comes to gaming you you really respect easy to use
Starting point is 00:03:59 interfaces. So with that being said, of course he has a store. You know what I mean, if you want in some Ice Q merch. I mean, it's just all right here. I mean, this is just a great way to connect to your fan base, I think.
Starting point is 00:04:10 And I don't know, the reason why it stood out to me because when looking for his album, no, when looking for information for his latest single, It's My Ego that's out now in all DSPs. You come to realize that
Starting point is 00:04:24 it was his own website that was the main outlet for his track which is super dope as far as having your own platform to talk to your fan base i mean obviously we have social media and things that nature but having your own website i mean it's pretty cool because i think people could sign up if i'm not mistaken i think i don't know if they can sign up probably not anyways as you can see they have news for um his track talking about the iconic rapper actor and cultural legend ice cube is set to release his latest single Quote, It's My Ego on October 18th.
Starting point is 00:05:03 Out now in all these pieces. As part of his highly anticipated upcoming album, Man Down, dropping this November. I wonder what Man Down refers to. I'm a PG podcast. I don't even want to ponder, but let's just say, you know, maybe he's talking about Man Down as far as Man Down bad mentally, right?
Starting point is 00:05:21 Like maybe he just wants to give him some therapeutic advice instead of some bullets. Anyways, Cubs, latest single, It's My Ego. speaks to the resilience, unapologetic confidence in the strength to believe in yourself. The single serves as a preview of the hard-hitting themes we can expect on His Man Down album, which focuses on overcoming adversity and standing back up when his, when life knocks you down. As Cube recently shared, quote, if you listen to the album
Starting point is 00:06:01 there's sprinkles of why the record is called man down sprinkles huh I bet Vlad would have a field day anyways let me chill and what we need to do as a man to
Starting point is 00:06:14 stand back up end quote pre save it's my ego now and get it on day one when it drops stay tuned for more
Starting point is 00:06:27 from ice Q Man Down album, which will be available across all major streaming platforms this November. Pre-save, it's my ego now. And guess what? That's really the only information I found about Ice Cubes. It's my ego. I don't know if it's because he's doing the big three. I don't know if ESPN and Black Baldwin from major hip-hop corporation or newsletters covering his
Starting point is 00:06:51 release, but I really didn't see any information other than his own website, which is why I wanted to cover it in the first place. I was like this man, got his whole website when nobody else would cover his music. I mean, that's insane. I mean, he's been in the game for so long. You'd think he would have a little bit more of respect, right? But I guess not. So, I mean, obviously, Ice Cube has respect.
Starting point is 00:07:10 I'm talking about the media conglomerate is not really promoting, you know, a single. That's from one of our legends. Instead of, like, hype up other controversy that's going around in the world. But not around the world. I'm talking about the hip-hop world, like the fabricated beefs and things of that nature. instead of covering a single for one of our most OG iconic hip hop artists ever, right? So anyways, another thing I wanted to touch on. This Man Ice Cube had an interview with Patrick Bet.
Starting point is 00:07:37 Look it up on YouTube, Patrick Bet, Ice Q. One of my favorite interviews is 2024. For the simple fact that this man Ice Cube was telling a story, right? And he's so nonchalantly said, yeah, this man messed with her mom, took some of his money. So, you know, me and my homie, we just got in a whip, you know, packed the shotgun, and we were just, you know, you just going to kill him and he just continued he just continued with a story like he didn't just say what he said i was like hold up y'all was just going to go gonna what like he was basically saying they was gonna kill him i don't want to end i don't want to spoil how the story ended but let's just say um
Starting point is 00:08:13 ice cube is still a free man so obviously they didn't commit that act right so it was just a very interesting story and the way that he nonchalantly was just talking about things that was just so life or death as far certain situations of him. I don't want to spoil the interview, but it's just such a great interview from the standpoint of listening to somebody who has accomplished so much talk about and reflect on his life
Starting point is 00:08:35 as far as in totality. So, and Patrick Bet is just one of the better interviewers I've seen in 2024. So, with that, you know, Ice Cube does a lot when it comes to the big three, when it comes to actually I think it's on here.
Starting point is 00:08:52 yeah so you have news and this is everything ice cube related ice cube owns the big three obviously if you don't know that then you know now it's a big three culture impact award watch the official video for the white oh the mount westmore free game is that the album okay i'm not i say i don't think that's a video game i do remember covering that i believe but anyways i'm just i'm just trying to showcase to y'all that ice cube is really one of the legends that needs to be spoken upon more as far as hip hop heads and what they cover right and obviously that's why i'm doing it right now because you know i think a lot of people need to be aware of the fact that not only does ice cube have tremendous success when it comes to his filmography like i just show uh the big three
Starting point is 00:09:40 like i just show but also he's still putting out music let's not just act like our o jes are just out here not giving us quality bodies uh well his album has to came out yet but quality singles right because i listen to the track and it's fire i mean it's not just like i'm my ego, you know, it's just such a great overall track. And he's sticking to the subject matter, something that mainly lyricists do, but you would hope that every rapper would aspire to stick to a subject matter, but usually the subject matter is just killing people, drugs, and, you know, other stuff like that. So with Ice Cube, you know, he reflects a lot on this track.
Starting point is 00:10:17 It's not like a super lyrical, miracle spiritual track. Obviously, he has this cadence and his bounce that he has. has with the melodies but um he definitely you know talks about some certain things in his life so with that being said um ice cube has you know face certain um well interesting critiques from online critics quote unquote for his uh you know ice cube has a lot of interesting responses to people who have negative things to say about them and not negative in a sense of like oh he's just a terrible person negative from the sense of like not agreeing with his certain um stances on certain issues so when ice cube responds you know he's very direct you know this is the same guy who made no vaseline and best believe p diddy wish you would have made that song not just playing my fault um so with that being said ice cube has a great sense of humor but it's very very, I'm not going to say morbid, but it's very direct. And it's interesting to see it come about as far as him directing it at people, because it throws you off. Like, did he just say
Starting point is 00:11:37 that? Like, and you would think it's cancelable, and then you realize this man 55. He was like, what does cancel even mean at this point with his longevity in this game? So, um, you have to look at his responses to even know what I'm talking about. I'm not bringing it up on the screen because I'm not trying to get banned, right? So anyways, uh, with that being said, cube as a single out now on all dsps titled it's my ego and his album it's coming out soon does it say when it's coming out in november it doesn't give an actual date so it could get could be the end of november could be the beginning we have no idea so that being said click my link tree in my bio let me know one of my social media is what do you think about ice cube's latest single it's my ego and ultimately
Starting point is 00:12:17 why do you think hip hop heads don't talk about oh geez releasing music as much as they do the newer or younger generation.
