What you're seeing on the screen right now is not a joke.
In all actuality, it's very serious.
As if you go on this adventure with me on Analytic Dreams video podcast
exclusively on Spotify for the video version,
you will see I have the one, the only, Idris Elba,
but not for his acting credits.
I, ladies and gentlemen, have pulled up.
actual music from what I just thought was an actor.
So if you don't know, this all ties together because of course,
I cover music and video games.
And this is the best of both worlds as on the gaming side,
cyberprunk 277, the Phantom Files' DOC,
just dropped today, set to be released on Xbox series 8.
and
I believe other platforms
but I may be mistaken
I'm pretty sure on other platforms
now you're trying to be funny
I forget what other platforms
cyberpunk is on
basically
Phantom Files is
supposed to be DOC for Cyberpunk
277 set to be released
September 26
so why am I on an EP
of Idris Elba
well let me tell you
so basically
Idris Elba has
been involved with the upcoming expansion just like Keanu Reeves, I believe that's his name,
just like he was a part of the original cyberpunk 2077. So that's kind of like the figurehead
of the original game as far as like who you are interacting with for the most part. And now
with Idris Elba, that's who you're going to be interacting with for the most part in the DLC.
So he plays as a character and a music contributor. And there's actual real.
music you can go play now on whatever DSP you use obviously as you see right now I have
Spotify up he has three tracks from the Phantom file soundtrack exclusively made well
not made by him but basically he's the performer on the track I don't know who he's
produced by I ain't feel like looking that up but what I did look up I was I managed to
pull out some images of Idris Elba in the
the game. Now you can tell me that this was a video game. And at that point, I realized we are
entering scary times. But here is another picture of Idris Elba in the video game, of course.
And then there's another one. And then you have the actual cover for the DOC, which is coming,
well, should be out as soon as you hear, well, as you're hearing this, the DLC should be out.
so that being said
the fan of files is pretty interesting
because this man is actually putting out music himself
um
CD Project Red
of course the developer of cyberpunk
27 revealed way back in the day
that Elba produced two tracks of the game
soundtrack and he was going to be a part
of the DOC and with that
they say he's not only a rapper and a producer
but also serves as a DJ
for the in-game radio station
called Impost Radio
which features modern electronic music.
Elba's involvement in the game was a result of a conversation about gaming,
and he expressed excitement about being a part of the expansion.
Imagine being a developer for CD Project Red.
You're talking to an A-list actor, and he just said,
oh, by the way, I put countless hours into that video game that you've been developing.
Like, and to add on to that, they ask him,
well do you want to be part of the video game and he actually accepts it like at that point i'm like
man i know it just elba's out here doing movies tv shows and he made time for a d oc i mean at the end
of day work is work i guess it wasn't like he was acting during the writer's strike but anyways
let's keep going so uh idris elba also found the writing for the character to be deep
and well written making it easy for him to get into character and edress elizabeth
but also worked in the game primarily involved voice acting
and his recording sessions were captured on video for animators to use as references.
Also, sometimes I get this question from people in real life and also on my social media.
Shout out to people who click my link to in my bio, you know, shameless plug and directly messages me.
But I love when y'all asks for my sources or not like sources, but like just how I know about certain stuff.
and then I'll let y'all know how I know it like specifically but then at the end I always be like
or I could just made it up because that's my favorite thing to say not going to lie like with some people
ask sometimes how you know this I'd be like I just made it up no cap but anyways let's get back to
my made-up story so um with that being said elbows work in the game already said that voice acting
uh collaboration and death of the story took three years to perfect goodness three years that's
basically a whole video game um elba acknowledged the challenges and hard works in the game development
apparently he has some type of interview out there where you can look that up for yourself um talked
about creating three new songs uh being a part of the game and you know just the experimental uh field
he was in as far as like him getting into acting in the gaming aspect because you know
gaming acting is a little different because you have motion capture apparently you have to express
your phase different.
I don't know how that work.
Basically, motion capture acting is a little different
from real life acting because you have to
be more expressive, if that makes sense.
I don't know if that makes sense.
Anyways, all you need to know, this man has an EP out
and not going to lie, my quick review of it,
because yes, I did take the time to listen to this.
The first track titled Chokehold
sounds Travis Scott-esque,
and that is not a slight
because the beat is amazing
and the way that he's rapping over it
was very serviceable for a rap song
in a video game.
Like that's not the type
that's not the type of song where you hear it
and it becomes background noise.
You'll be like, hold up.
It just is really trying to rap right now.
He has a whole chorus talking about
taking over the city at night.
Like that part got me hype.
I was like, okay.
Hey, he must be taking over the city.
I don't know what happens in the DOC,
but that track was Travis Scott-esque and it makes sense why he's a DJ.
So anyways, Roller Coaster, track number two, that gives me the vibes and impressions of Dave, the rapper.
To be more specific, and I don't want y'all to be thinking I'm flagrant.
This is his actual name, Little Dickie.
Gives me Little Dickie vibes with this second track, Roller Coaster, and I swear to you, I'm not being funny.
When I listen to the track, I'll remember how Little Dickie used to rap and how he currently does rap.
on his hit show Dave but that gave me impressions and that's that's kind of how the the correlation
I made but it's a good track then track number three so he's like jumping all over with his
EP right none of these tracks sound the same by the way track number three is like a marshmallows esk
type track he goes into the track and it's more of the beat you know um being the standout but
he has his like uh one line is here and there which makes it feel like
like a techno electronic type of track, which is why I compare marshmallow.
And I can't really think of anybody else.
But at the end of day, Phantom Liberty is said to be released September 26.
I'm pretty sure it's on all platforms.
I don't know why it just says Xbox Series X.
Maybe I did just make up my sources.
No, I'm just joking.
So at the end of the day, click my link tree in my bio.
Let me know one of my social medias.
Will you be playing cyberprunk 2077's DOS?
see in the phantom files and also will you be bumping this idris elba ep while doing so
