Starting point is 00:00:00 It's nice to see that even though some people are taking a break from putting out music and entertaining the fans, there's still people out there who want to take their time and appreciate the amount of fans that they have garnered over time. As competing for their number one spot is something I think should always be a goal for the top artists, even if that means failing, right? but to simply not put out music is one of those things where the overall landscape of music is not going to wait for you. So with that, let's transition into the reason I'm creating this segment in Enigo Cantaro. I think that's how you said. A Spanish singer, songwriter who gained global recognition with his song, so basically
Starting point is 00:00:57 I wanted to talk about this particular artist because currently he just dropped the track called Loque Quida de Me I think that's how he said I don't know I don't speak Spanish but I'm trying my best so anyways that's the track he just put out obviously he is independent artist so these type of achievements are very interesting and I think will be looked at under more of a microscope because
Starting point is 00:01:26 call me a hypocrite or not hypocrite, call me a hater, but I don't think any independent artist is putting up top five numbers in any category competing against major labels. Now, when you go to his tracks, under the credits, it says, 2023, acoustic, that's what it looks like. Anyways, I think you don't get a billboard article without being signed to someone.
Starting point is 00:01:57 Nobody's just going to be like, hey, let's give this random independent artist an article to put out on front page when we have a bunch of major labels that will pay us a lot of money to promote one of their artists. That's just simply not how it works. Not saying the whole music industry is based off payola, but majority of it is. So anyways, Enigo Cantor, of course, had his first number one on global excluding U.S. Billboard, because on U.S. Billboard, he is at his highest at number four, I believe. And the Spanish singer songwriter reigns with his first entry, plus too much by the Kidleroy. Even that is another sign to let me know. this man decided to someone like i don't know who he is actually getting to distribute his music but no independent artist is competing with major label artists and for this type of placement
Starting point is 00:03:01 especially on new music on spotify if you don't know most of those artists who are promoted on new music usually have some ties to some type of distribution label or the big major labels themselves so with the nigo cantero i think that with this recent recent or his newfound success, he will start to reveal more of who he's aligning himself with. As a Kila Roy feature, as an independent artist, really doesn't happen. Not saying the Kila Roy is the biggest artist in the world. Just saying it just never happens. And what I wanted to focus on is, one, he is a new artist.
Starting point is 00:03:41 He's putting out music at a, let me see, 2022 to 23, 23. So basically, he's been putting out music on DSPs for two years. So for him to have this newfound success, I'm not going to say quickly because you never know what he was doing behind the scenes as far as mixtapes or just trying to get his recording situation together. You never know anybody's full story, so you never want to say the struggle wasn't there. But it did seem like he found success pretty fairly quickly.
Starting point is 00:04:16 And as far as in the Latin music industry, that's been something I've been researching and just looking, more into to the point where it raises a lot of red flags when somebody bubbles up like this in two years and they're claiming that they're independent. It's not the biggest thing or the biggest deal in the world. I just don't want the average fan to listen to an artist putting up numbers in top five against major label artists and think that that's actually feasible because it's not. So you can have a successful track.
Starting point is 00:04:48 I'm not saying it's not successful. But top 10, top five, as far as a singular track, it's not really the independent route as far as when you're competing with people who own certain distributing music companies like a Spotify or Apple. Like there's a reason why Universal Music Group can pool some of the artists or negotiate certain splits with a Spotify, with the Apple, with the Amazon because they own the biggest. artists in the world. I don't want to get into the overall music industry talk, but I did think this was a particular segment where I could touch on as Enigo Cantero is obviously a popping artist, but the biggest question for me is who is the engine and the machine behind this particular artist? So with that being said, click my link to you in my bio. Let me know one of my social media is. Also, don't forget to listen to his track. Lockekeita de Me, I think that's like
Starting point is 00:05:50 said but anyways after listening to it let me know if it's fire or trash and do you think that Enigo Cantaro is an industry plant
