Now, of course, this specific segment is a little different.
Shepard.
No, it's just because, you know, when it comes to an OG in my life
through the entirety of my 25 years on earth, safe to say, it's his birthday.
As if you don't know, I'm definitely talking about my father, aka my dad,
aka, I can't tell y'all that.
You know what I mean?
You got to keep the government a secret.
but you know when it comes to me being named of course i am the third so that means i am named after him
so when it comes to his birthday just wanted to put this out in not only in celebration of an iconic
figures birthday but also just showing my ultimate love and respect to somebody who's been
in my life and very supportive and got me to this point you guys so of course i'm not going to
get too sentimental on you you know at the end of day i did want to take this time to have more of a
heart to heart with my supporters over the span of the notorious mass effect i was like you know what
let me give a transparent segment talking about not only my father's birthday but also one of the
key moments that he showed up in my life so without further ado let's go down memory lane as
i remember i was on stream and my guy yoshi shout to him he brought this up in one of my streams
and I felt like I should have took that time to deep dive,
but of course me being a hardcore gamer,
I was playing radio or not, so I was locked in.
But essentially, he was bringing up the event that occurred
when I tore my ACO.
You guys.
See, that's the problem.
Now, ladies and gentlemen, I say all the time
that was a collegiate athlete back in my day.
You know, I say back in my day like I'm not only 25,
going on 80, mind you.
But as far as when I first got to call it,
college and you know putting the ball in the hoop things of that nature um future looking bright you know
you know all type of uh buckets getting handed out ankles being taken shepherd all right my fault
let me get back on track so as far as the story when i first got to college i very surely and
any freshman in college knows how i feel when you get to college and you're going up against
grown men who should have whole families but of course they're like six year transfers so you know
it was ahead of me on the depth chart so me i red shirt i redshirted that specific year but of course
your boy was pretty nice so he was out here practicing with the team basically and you know uh when it
comes to the behind-the-scenes hoop sessions when you know the gym supposedly supposed to be locked
down i was able to get in because you know of course the people who played they had the power so to get
into the gym so long story short we was hooping i was getting my buckets they was getting their buckets
And there was a specific play where somebody was going up for a layup.
And the crazy thing about it is when sports analysts say non-contact injuries is the worst sign to see or the worst sight because you know what's going to come after it, they are 100% correct.
Because of course, when I went up to block the shot, safe to say, I don't know if it went in or out.
Because of course, when I came down, all I felt was excruciating pain.
And ultimately, my knee started to swell up like a balloon.
And I thought to myself, as the pain is indescribable,
the ultimate ability to come back from that is not something I would wish on anybody.
because of course you have to literally learn how to walk again because of what they have to do to repair your ACO.
Now, going back to that instance, when my knee started to blow a balloon, my teammates, of course, carried me back to my dorm.
And ultimately, the reason for this story is that my dad, who was, I believe he was an hour or two away,
because I went to college in Arkansas.
So,
but that was my first college,
and I ended up going to a college in Kansas.
But my first college in Arkansas,
I was enough distance away from home to where
I did not think it was going to be anybody else
except for my roommate who was definitely there for him.
Shout to Justin.
He was definitely asking me, you know,
if he could give me anything and trying to help any way he can.
But then, lo and behold,
I hear knocking my door and who is it?
My father.
And the reason why I bring that up is because, of course,
I did tell them about the incident.
I didn't know if I tore my AC up.
I know it was pretty bad.
I couldn't walk.
My knee was swollen.
I'm being carried back to my dorm.
I'm thinking the worst.
You know, I am a red shirt,
so it's not the worst thing in the world
because, you know, at the end of day,
I think having that type of injury as like a high schooler,
being a junior or senior is the worst because you're trying to get to a scholarship opportunity i was
already on scholarship so at that point in time i was just red shirt and trying to get better
against the starters right but still it's not type of that type of instance is not something i wish
on anybody so anyways i tore my ACL and safe to say i told my parents right and i didn't think
anything of it i was just letting them know because of course it was a traumatic incident and i'm just
sitting in my dorm room i think i had i i used to say i had i i i used to say i was a
son it was basic i was just laid up right i was like the sponge bob meme hold up you i've ever seen that
you see now i got to be a w tech guy you ever seen the let me see uh let me see hospital hospital guy
sponge bob this is this is me right here without all the bandages this is this was this was me
because uh let me see if i can switch this right quick
trying to find that actual picture not sponge bob but the other dude yeah yeah this is this
is me right here ladies and gentlemen without all the bandages but i was just laid up you know i'm
saying basically um your boy was comatose he was sitting in the bed wondering how in the world
is any activities going to get done because i need to walk to get those activities done like just the
simple things you take for granted was quickly taken away by a simple injury you may think i'm
being dramatic you probably never tore your ac i'm not going to capture you so um shorten you know
to make the story even shorter basically
My dad came expeditiously.
I don't know what type of laws he was breaking as far as the speed limit,
but he was there way quicker.
Man, I would have ever imagined.
I was like, if they did come down, maybe it would be on the weekend.
He came that same day.
You know, not to outs my dad, but, you know, he has a pretty important job.
Let's just say he manages a lot of people, right?
So for him to literally come down that same day, stay with me to the next day,
and he didn't leave until he,
ultimately took me to the hospital got everything i needed as far as cruders things in nature and then
of course he went back to his you know his duties which you know obviously i'm not going to say but
all i want to say is that's one of the main things i wanted to bring up because of course that's one of the
many one of the several i made countless times that he showed up in my life so like i said i'm not
going to get sentimental um just wanted to bring that up because of course if he ever hears this
and you know hopefully he knows that you know i made you know a little uh birthday uh segment
about him because I was wanting to do this more often but of course um the support has been crazy
and it's from different demographics and um so i'm making like different content whether it's the latin
space k-pop whether it's uh reactions that people enjoy like it's different sectors that try to put
out and feed the public or feed the supporters but as far as the transparent just heart to heart
letting y'all know what's going on in my personal life not like currently but you know just stuff in the
past it's like a story time you know what i'm saying so
um i was like i need to have more of these you know it's literally a podcast format you know it's just
audio or a video analytic dreams video on spotify but at the end of day that was very uh
important to me and one of the standout moments that showed why having just a parent who's
really involved in your life is so important so that being said ladies and gentlemen um
i did have a specific surprise that will happen after he hears his track so this will
not be his first time hearing it, but it'll be y'all's first time hearing it.
So when it comes to that, safe to say, you know, the trash underground rapper that's
always blackmailing me.
Well, ladies and gentlemen, he's back again.
You guys.
See, that's the problem.
And somehow, I don't know how in the world he's gaining some type of traction, but safe
to say, whoever's listening to this man right here, shame on you, man, shame on you.
But then, you know what I'm saying?
I was like, damn, look at the state of hip-hop.
Like, what's going on?
But no, all jokes aside, I am going to play a particular, a particular track.
that I think that y'all are going to enjoy, you know, hence the story time and me just showcasing how much of a
impact my dad's had on my life. And of course, I made a little tune for him. It's safe to say. And by me,
I made a trash on the ground rapper. You know, you got to keep the joke going. You know what I'm saying? Hey,
y'all didn't catch that 4. What was it? Floridian strip? I think I said it right. Whatever.
Y'all get the point. Yeah. So without further ado, let's get into one of the,
musical offerings that I gave as a present to my father for being for always being in my life.
