Starting point is 00:00:00 Bossy Captain Clace, girl, come drive my boat. Ring that bill, bet they follow wherever we go. DZL. Will got that Captain Morgan pour him three more. Then stand up. Please, let me see you put your hands on your knees. Boss and Jay Cole joined together. to continue saying no more dares only truths girl how about we go go up shelf we not drinking casamigos
Starting point is 00:00:42 are you impaired you're not there i'm a little claise azul got me singing i love you too now for the life of me i just can't i can't understand how jaco fans still exist and also why Jermaine Cole continues to try to save Boss and put him in the limelight. Obviously, we've accompanied a lot of cosines to artists glow up. Where Kendrick, you have a baby keem. Where Drake, you have the weekend. Then you have, with a party next door, basically the weekend. And now, with Jay Cole.
Starting point is 00:01:44 You have boss. I think people really have to start putting in perspective the amount of over estimating we do when it comes to that y'all do. I can't even say we. I would never. The overestimating y'all do when it comes to Jermaine Cole's greatness in the hip-hop community. I think if it wasn't for Drake, Kendrick, Future, which is the top three. I don't know why people keep putting Jay Cole in there. And then when you get into the four and five,
Starting point is 00:02:20 when you get into Tyler the Creator and probably Travis Scott. The amount of hype I've seen throughout the years of Jay Cole being in the top three of artists in the hip hop game, to quote my man Stephen A, has been straight blasphemy. I think whenever this man put out the track folding clothes, it was it for me. I think I threw my hands up, and I just said I couldn't take you no more.
Starting point is 00:02:51 Like remember, there's a famous meme when it was a prank. When the kids acted like they broke the TV of their dad, and the dad walked in and he just completely lost it. That's exactly what happened when I listened to this track. When I tell you that this track is beyond atrocious, let alone the lyrics like I just read off, because some people are going to be like, oh, you didn't even listen to the track.
Starting point is 00:03:18 I just started off by reading off the lyrics. Let me just say, to title your track, Passport Bros. Grow up. Please. Jay Cole. Let me see. Give me a second.
Starting point is 00:03:42 Got to make sure I get this right. I got, had to make sure I was, uh, Jay Cole is 38 years old, ladies and gentlemen. This track is titled Passport Bros. Not only that, but if you look more closely at the cover of the title of the track, they're both sitting on the couch. Pause. Now I know Jermaine has a label to run, aka Dreamville, but putting out this garbage with his
Starting point is 00:04:25 artist that he's taken under his wing would do nothing or hurt this man's career. I think the way that Germain goes about promoting his artist is beyond atrocious I know you just and y'all got to stay with me
Starting point is 00:04:43 I know you just wanted to work on your Hall of Fame glass cleaner badge but you had had to go make music with J. Coe's artist boss and you know why
Starting point is 00:05:00 because J-Co was probably like, hey, if you're going to have me in the game of NBA 2K23, you have to bring my little bro and also put him into the mission. So not only did you have to take away time from grinding away on that Hall of Fame class glass cleaner build, but you had to sit through the torturous, horrendous, downright stupendous studio session with boss. I mean, hey, we got a little, I'm released J. Coverse out of it, but still, what I really want to focus on, and all jokes aside, is this track is bad. It's not good. I don't think it's going to do anything for J. Cole or Boss's career. Honestly, I keep going back to when NF put out his album, and I keep highlighting this for a reason. NF hope, first week, sales. even in the track I forget he had a track with Corday I forget what it's called
Starting point is 00:06:09 but basically NF his album Hope sold $123,000 first week right? Pretty respectable as far as hip-hop goes I think it's the most it's the second most second highest first week sales as far as the hip-hop album is concerned
Starting point is 00:06:23 because of course Pink tape did something like 160 170 it did more than NF but he's number two the track the nf had a feature on i think should have been j cole nf had a track with corday and that track was called careful right literally in the chorus so it's not it's not a part that you if you don't listen you could or if you blink you miss it type he literally says in the chorus sitting on my roof like j cole sitting on my roof like jaco like jaco like it's part of the chorus right so
Starting point is 00:07:01 piece throughout the track. And he has Corday on the track. No disrespect to Corday. I love him as an artist, but I do believe Cordei takes a lot of inspiration for some reason from Jay Cole. If Jay Cole would have been on this track specifically, I think that this would have been a top five hit still in 2023. Y'all may think I'm joking.
Starting point is 00:07:23 Y'all may think I'm not being serious. But as far as like career moves, nobody wants to hear him rapping with the dude from BTS. Nobody wants to take Tom away from their glass cleaner build to do side studio sessions with his understudy and boss. No disrespect. Nobody wants to hear him on a track literally called Passport Bros. People want to hear him with respectable rappers alongside him putting out quality music. And that is something that Jay Cole has not been given us for About a year or two. I believe last year, he gave us something.
Starting point is 00:08:05 Let me see. I'm not looking that up. Anyways, he gave us something, right? This year he didn't give us any of that. I think in general, the type of moves that he's making makes absolutely no sense to me. Obviously, it makes sense to somebody out there. Hey, that's why you're a J-Col fan, and I'm not. But basically, I think careful by NF was set up for J-Cold to be a
Starting point is 00:08:29 on it. I think it would have been a phenomenal career move, but I think he declined it at Corday. Obviously, I'm speculating. This could be completely false. I'm speculating. I think Jay Cole turned it down and NF turned to Corday to be on the track because, you know, Jay Cole like inspiration. Also, Corday can really rap. Why not put him on the track? But anyways, that's my two cents on how Jay Cole can start making better creative decisions. But hey, who am I? Just a guy on the internet giving his opinion. So anyways, click my link tree in my bio.
Starting point is 00:09:08 Let me know one of my social medias. Have you listened to the notorious track by Jermaine and Boss titled Passport Bros? And do you think it's fire or trash?
