Analytic Dreamz: Notorious Mass Effect - "JACK HARLOW - JACKMAN"

Episode Date: April 28, 2023

Linktree: https://linktr.ee/Analytic Jack Harlow is back. The 25-year-old rapper unveiled his third studio album, Jackman., at the stroke of midnight on Friday (April 28). The star, whose full fir...st name is in fact Jackman, surprised fans with the project announcement just two days before its release. He revealed the release date alongside the album cover, a shot of a shirtless Harlow standing with his arms crossed in an alleyway next to some garbage cans. At the time, Harlow didn’t reveal anything surrounding the album’s track list and features, but the secrecy was well worth the wait. Spanning 10 songs and a running time of just 24 minutes, it’s a truly solo effort; Harlow doesn’t lean on any featured artists. Jackman. follows Harlow’s 2022 sophomore album, Come Home the Kids Miss You, which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 albums chart and produced hits like “Nail Tech,” “Dua Lipa” and the Hot 100 chart topper, “First Class.” His 2020 debut album, That’s What They All Say, launched the rapper into the spotlight with “What’s Poppin.” It’s a busy year for Harlow, who is set to star in the upcoming remake of White Men Can’t Jump, which will hit Hulu on May 19.  source: Jack Harlow’s ‘Jackman.’ Is Here: Stream It Now (msn.com)Privacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

Starting point is 00:00:00 It's almost like Jack Harlow thought to himself when he was making come home to kids miss you, what would Drake do into making this album titled Jackman and his whole thought process was what hasn't Drake done? Because this is a totally different Jack Harlow. Now I'm not giving an album review, but it was only like 20 to 30 minutes. I did listen to the entire thing twice. but the lyrical content was very heavy the quality was very high
Starting point is 00:00:34 and I'm definitely going to have to listen to a little bit more in different settings to give my full review but one thing is obvious he did the thing that a lot of Drake fans have won it for a long time which technically I'm not even going to cape for Drake this is where all the fans from Drake wanted they wanted just a full rap album
Starting point is 00:00:58 And Jack Harlow has given us that like Jack Harlow literally gave us an album that we've been asking from Drake for like since if you're reading this is too late. What I mean about that is tracks like what's the ones with the time zones? There's so many different ones. Lemon Pepper freestyle. So I'm going to you would think I have all his songs memorized, but I don't. You know, I'm not, I'm not the, uh, not a computer, you know what I'm saying? Okay, so you have Lemon Pepper Freestyle. Uh, you have when to say when Chicago freestyle.
Starting point is 00:01:39 It's like if you put those tracks back to back to back to back on, on one project. That's what we've always wanted. Just a straight album of Lemon Pepper Freestyles. Just great, fantastic samples. mixed well by a iconic producer and just Drake just wrapping his life away on the entire project. And Jack Harlow seems like he's giving that to us. I don't want to overreact, but from first listen, I'm like, did he really go from thinking what would Drake do to what hasn't Drake done?
Starting point is 00:02:17 Because that's been the biggest, not critique, but the biggest, let me just say, anticipation is when drake just finally is just like okay i'm giving you another full rap album and we're not talking about no singles mixed in no slow songs mixed in we're talking about straight dark uh what let me see what what's the other ones straight survival um there's so many different songs that drake just went off on it's kind of hard to pick it songs like yeah so many different tracks it's kind of crazy Tuscan leather
Starting point is 00:03:06 pound cake like tracks that you're just listening to the sample the beat and then Drake's just rapping you know just showing he's like one of the greatest rappers ever we wanted a full entire project like that and it seems like
Starting point is 00:03:23 we've gotten that but from Jack Harlow so it's very interesting that whole dynamic of how people will receive this album because from first listen well not even first first second and third listen I was like wow
Starting point is 00:03:39 no he's definitely coming different is way more bars and lyrical content than let's make a chorus verse chorus verse pre pre chorus and chorus
Starting point is 00:03:56 it's more of a just play the beat if it's fire I'm a wrap over it and just get off what I need to get off of my chest and boy
Starting point is 00:04:07 is this going to take fans by surprise because after come home the kids miss you I would have to say that everybody thought this man was washed up but
Starting point is 00:04:17 with Jack man it seems like he did it again I'm not going to overreact but I am going to let you know that there's a lot of one thing's for certain there's a lot of lyrical content on this project
Starting point is 00:04:26 and we'll be seeing how it resonates with the masses. So click my link to you in my bio. Let me know in one of my social medias. What do you think about Jack Harlow dropping his third studio project, Jackman? And will you be giving it? Well, not even will you?
Starting point is 00:04:45 I assume you've listened to it. What is your favorite track off of the album?
