Mr. Harlow is back again with the new track titled Set You Free.
Now, as far as that specific label that's putting up this track,
Jack Harlow is under Generation Now slash Atlantic Recording Corporation.
But the only reason I'm telling you that right now is because, interestingly enough,
Warner, which is what this subsidiary is under.
So Jack Harlow is under Warner, right?
The subsidiary is Generation Now slash Atlantic Recording Corporation.
But the reason why I'm telling you this is because from an overall standpoint, as far as the music industry being considered, Warner currently only has, and I say only, but as far as major labels are considered.
It's not that big of a piece of the pie, as they only have 14% of the entire 100 as far as the music market share.
Universal Music Group currently has 64%. Sony currently has 19, and of course Warner has 14%.
And the others, of course, as far as the 3% is the smaller labels and the independent artists all jumbled up together.
They have the 3%.
So the reason why I'm highlighting the 14% for Warner is because Teddy Swims right now is just the mascot for Warner as far as success on the billboard charts.
Now, with that being considered, everybody knows that back in 2024, which is just last year, when Jack Harlow put out loving on me, it went ballistic on the charts, rising on everything.
every chart you can imagine. And it was it even tied Drake for having a number one each or Jack
Hollow tied Drake for having a number one hit each year since 2021. So this new track set you free
that was just released unequivocally is going to be consumed by the masses. Now do we know the
heist that this track is going to get to? Of course not. But I wanted to lay it out for you because
Of course, a lot of Jack Hollow fans, hopefully they've been paying attention to the music industry because right now it seems like all of the conversations between two particular hip hop artists.
Now, I'm pretty sure you could guess who those two are.
So for Jack Hollow to come in the mix and mix up the overall market share, I think he's the only artist under Warner right now that's a hip hop act that can put up some monumental numbers right now as far as increasing Warner's 14% as far as the overall 100%.
your market share so number set to the side status set to the side let's get into what I think
about the track set you free I believe lyrically is a high quality track now the only
type of critique I have for the track is very minuscule as far as the it's not as big as some
people may think but I still want to point it out just to not make it seem like I
think the songs one of the best songs I've heard of this year
Like I think it's a phenomenal song.
But as far as, but I know I need to, I know I need to.
I know I need to.
I need to set you free.
As far as those sentiments, I'm not going on to you.
I think he could have changed it up a little bit.
And as far as that actually being the bridge between the verses, I mean, obviously he goes into the rest of the chorus.
As far as move on with your life, just let you be holding hands in the back of an SUV.
I think that's a better part of the.
chorus but that but I know I need to I think that part is a little turn it turned me off a
little bit as far as from a quality standpoint but the rest of the track is phenomenal and
lyrically I mean we don't even have to get into the level of effort and the meticulous
type of process to Jack Harlow has to give us give us these masterclass performances from a
lyrical standpoint there's a reason why Drake on Churchill Downs went as hard as he did
as far as giving us one of his better lyrical performances in the past two to three years because when
church hill downs actually came out that could have been pivotal because drake already was outwrapped
by little baby on once in these right so now if you get outwrap by church hill uh if you get outwrapped by
jack harlowe on church hill downs when he seemed to not mimic you but take a lot of inspiration when
when it comes to lyrically enhancing your pen,
but also making it a vibe for the ladies.
Because of course, when it comes to Kendrick,
I ain't gonna lie to you.
Lyrically, he's one of the more,
well actually, he may be the most lyrical rapper
we've ever heard in life.
But as far as commercial,
like I don't wanna hear any underground battle rappers.
As far as commercial and lyrically being two components
to the top, I think Kendrick is the best we've ever seen.
But when it comes to the ladies,
I ain't a lot to you.
If it's not sizzle on the track,
I don't think they're really bumping that Kendrick as far as trying to get into a certain vibe or trying to set the mood, right?
I think Jack Harlow nails down the head, but also gives us lyrically inclined tracks, which is why I compare him more to Drake,
which is why the church held down was so pivotal for Drake to come out on top as far as from a lyrical standpoint.
But I didn't want to get too much into Jack Hollow, pause.
I didn't want to talk about his IG post because I ain't going to lie to you.
I'm hating.
I don't care what type of hate this comes across as.
But I don't know when I'm going to put up the video version.
So all I'm going to say is just go to Jack Harlow's Instagram.
Go to his second post and his second slide of his second post.
And you will realize, ladies and gentlemen, why I'm hating on this man, as far as a significant other, as far as him showcasing his significant other, let's just say I am a certified hater when it comes to this.
I feel like Kendrick when I looked at the second slide of Jack Harlow's second post.
be like I hate everything about it.
I ain't on my tune.
That's just pure hatred.
I ain't on my too.
So hopefully y'all get a kick out of what I was talking about if you go to this
IG page and see his second post.
So anyway, shout out to Taylor Works.
But anyways, with that being said, set you free.
It's now out on all DSPs.
All jokes aside, I think it's a phenomenal track.
I had a tiny, minute type of critique.
But besides that, I think the track is phenomenal.
So with that being said, click my link to you in my bio.
Let me know on one of my social medias.

Set You Free?
