Starting point is 00:00:03 Now I'm not going to lie. Obviously, with a name like Jelly Roll, I have to be a little sensitive because, of course, I looked up the artist and, let's just say, there's not going to be too many jokes made on the artist because of what he touches on as far as his themes and topics and emphasizing it's okay to not to be okay, right? So what I will say is,
Starting point is 00:00:27 Jelly Roll and Rod Wave will make one of the most sad bangers we've ever heard in life. Like as far as the Depression Olympics, they will both be Usain Bolt and the guy from USA, so I forgot his name. That's currently killing all the records right now. Like, these type of artists really tap into a certain emotion that encapsulates the masses.
Starting point is 00:00:55 And why am I saying that? Because literally, jelly roll is one of the most pivotal artists on the charts right now. I mean as far as the 30th most play song in the world as far as the 56 most played song in the world the 75th most played song in the world and then the 100th most played song in the world they all belong to jelly roll but the one I'm focusing on is the track titled I Am Not Okay which is his highest charting track been on the what just got onto the charts and it's 30th most play song in the world of course and the lyrics are
Starting point is 00:01:31 going off of his usual themes, which is basically mental health, things of that nature, depicting inner turmoil and challenges with his daily life. And one of the better things about J.L. is he gives different messages, basically encouraging fans to seek support, finding hope despite the pain. So technically, he always offers a. positive message along with the inner sadness and depression that he's feeling so I would say it's interesting it's an interesting way of going about getting across the message so as far as
Starting point is 00:02:19 that is considered I would say it's okay like I it don't make me feel no type of way it's just one of those to where he he definitely has his type of uh... that he uses with his audience so anyways june 12th is when he went live on season 25 finale of the voice and fans immediately was attached to jelly roll and it was and he was praised for his emotional depth so it's one of those things you know how girls be like oh he's just he's so emotionally intelligent you know he's one of those type people so as far as his response you know jelly roll definitely was very gracious um gave a lot of thanks to his fans express his gratitude on twitter slash x for making it possible and for making it the biggest release of his career when in regards
Starting point is 00:03:17 of this track uh i am not okay so some of the biggest things that people appreciate about this track is some of the sentiments like his heavy, his heavy emphasis on mental health and just his relatability. And a lot of people are just giving comments such as like, thank you for giving mental health a voice. I truly believe you will save lives with this song. So it's very heartfelt impact and emotions being touched on. So as far as his inspiration, jelly rolls, you know, to come up with. all these tracks. I mean, he talked about
Starting point is 00:03:56 writing over 150 songs. He talked about being inspired by real true to self, like people's life stories. He talked about his mental state, saying that he's in a better place mentally, but still draws on dark times for his music. Previously
Starting point is 00:04:15 wrote, Save Me during a dark period. What else? And as far as touring, because of course you got a tour off of these emotions, right? And he, 2020, which is this year, he's on beautifully broken tour starting in late August with various opening acts. So I don't know specifically which acts he's having open for him. But, hey, it's various or it varies.
Starting point is 00:04:41 So new music is coming with him debuting the track Burning on Jimmy Kimmel Live. and then his next album is assumed to be released in the fall to follow up with Sitt Chapel. Hopefully I said that right. So, of course, Jellie Rose is going to continue to gain popularity as multiple tracks are under charge going crazy. And as far as his mental health aspect, it seems like a coveted commodity when it comes to the general public who's interested in his music. So with that being said, click my link to you and my bio and let me know one of my social media is, what do you think about Jelly Rose's overall message of being a mental health advocate? And what do you like most about Jelly Road?
