Starting point is 00:00:03 Now, I'm not going to lie to you. I am very perplexed. And why is that? It's for the simple fact that we're about to get into a specific artist that production style is more synth-driven, pop with a piano like intro, especially for her latest popular track, blue strips. But more specifically, right? Because I always do my research.
Starting point is 00:00:27 I went into a discography, you know, to promote it, of course, right? And look what I found. But then you know what I'm saying? I was like, damn, look at the state of hip hop. Like, what's going on? Actually, you can't look because this is a podcast, but you get what I'm saying. She has a track titled Gucci Main. I know that ain't who I think it is.
Starting point is 00:00:46 Ladies and gentlemen, I'm not mad at people using certain cultural equity for their own. But all I'm going to say is, it's very interesting how Jesse Murph has a track that came out this year, mind you. April 4th, 2025. That's titled Gucci May. I know that ain't who I think it is. And before you think I'm about to say something negative about the track, I actually like it. I think the track is phenomenal, but it just threw me off because I'm thinking to myself the imagery and then seeing a track title Gucci Man, it just threw me all the way all. I was like, my fault player, I didn't know you role like that.
Starting point is 00:01:21 I know that ain't who I think it is. Anyways, all jokes aside, the reason why it's title Gucci Main is because the track, yeah, the track Gucci Main interpreates the 2009 Gucci Main hit lemonade right so the reason why jesse murph titled a track gucci man is because it samples gucci's lemonade track and the fusion of country pop along with the hip-hop elements as something that i am receptive towards and it's only for the simple fact that sometimes you have to be the bigger man in the situation when it comes to country and hip-hop because it seems as if when it comes to the hip-hop side of things, you know, we're very receptive to a lot of walks of life, right? But on the other side, when it comes to country and one of the most successful country songs
Starting point is 00:02:14 in the past two to three years, as far as a bar song, Boshabuzi, he goes to the country awards, right? And guess what they said? Somebody, I forget the artist, they won the award, and their agent, manager, whatever, got up there and took the way he didn't take the mic but after his artist got done giving his you know uh congratul you know his uh acceptance speech or whatever his manager got up there he was like yeah this man been working super hard and you know we just been kicking shibuzi for quite some time i was like hold up now but then you know what i'm saying i was like 10 look at the state of hip hop like what's going on so we get to be receptive to y'all country artists coming over here as far as the morgan walling you know making tracks with a little dirk which is fire right you know you know just phenomenally made but whenever the shoes on the other foot and we try to get some acceptance for for the country people they could care less it's almost like they're a little racist so whenever we get into the country landscape you know there's a lot of things
Starting point is 00:03:14 that goes on and it's very unfortunate so anyways getting back into Jesse Murph putting immense respect on her name coming into hip-hop right especially with the track Gucci main because I like how she did implement the hip-hop elements and to what she usually does as far as a country pop type of sound that she has. But this segment is about blue strips that is currently the 35th most played track in the world. And as far as the projections, it's showing that it will have a strong hold on the charts as far as this particular track. And that is phenomenal because in general, if you put out two tracks and then another track just blows up on the charts, you kind of realize that blue strips is probably the one that
Starting point is 00:03:57 you want to roll out your next album if it is to come as far as her latest album that was trying to get the title for her her latest album that was that ain't no man that's the devil man that's a that's a pretty direct title um that reached number 24 on billboard 200 right so a last album i'm not going to say it wasn't successful because making any appearance on the billboard charts is phenomenal is a phenomenal accomplishment and definitely showcases how you have great reception from your foundation right so jesse murph now has a track that i believe is her most popular ever as far as going throughout her career on billboard i mean she did have a track that was also the 35th most play track on billboard as far as wild ones but oh never mind she did have a track titled
Starting point is 00:04:46 high road with coi wetzel that topped the country airplay for for five weeks so that doesn't tell me what she did in general on um on billboard charts but one thing i did notice i did cover her before uh back in january 21st 23 yes ladies and gentlemen i've been doing this uh not for a long time obviously i'm just calling back from a segment i did two years ago that pertains to today as i cover polo g diplo and jesse merce track heartbroken i thought that track was also phenomenal as far as the the way they put that mix of hip hop and country so there's a theme with jesse I don't think she's just out here being a culture roacher. Maybe she just really enjoys hip hop and the elements that it brings, especially for her music.
Starting point is 00:05:33 So something that didn't even have hip hop in it, as far as her track, blue strips, is her most popular. So we can't even say, oh, she's using hip hop for sales, right? Because she released two tracks. One had hip hop elements, one didn't. And blue strips, the one that didn't is the most popular currently. Not to say that she can't have popular tracks with hip hop elements, because obviously heartbroken back in 2023 was exactly that. But she definitely has her own artistry to lean on. And I do like that she implements hip hop the way that she does
Starting point is 00:06:02 because it comes across more authentic when you do it throughout your career instead of doing it once and then never doing it again as far as it being seen as a culture of kosher tactic. So blue strips right now is the 35th most played track in the world. I don't think that she's going to release the album anytime soon because this track is doing phenomenal. So she's probably going to ride this one.
Starting point is 00:06:25 wait for quite some time. I do believe her last album, that ain't no man. That's the devil. That's going to receive some increase in streams because that came out September 6th, 2024. So you already know that people are going to be trying to get more acclimated to her once they listen to blue strips. So I think that's a great deal as far as just trying to elongate the lifespan of blue strips in hopes that people go back to your later discography, increase those streams, and it overall helps you, especially when you start performing even more as she did when she went on stage coach 2025. And, no, I think it was an interview. Yeah, her stage coach 2025 interview where she talked about her current style being Pop Bangor with a bite, which, you know, that's an interesting description.
Starting point is 00:07:18 So anyways, with that being said, click my link to you in my bio. Let me know on one of my social medias. What do you think about Jesse Merse, Blue Strip, track? And at the end of the day, how, oh no, what's your favorite country hip hop collab in the past two to three years?
