Now, what in the payola is happening right now?
There is no way ever in history that we should disrespect the DSPs and the platforms by putting
somebody who has zero monthly listeners at the top of New Music Friday.
If this is not payola, then I don't know what it is.
Now, I'm going to say allegedly, because I'm not trying to get sued.
But anyways, if you don't know who I'm talking about, this is this artist called Jay Sue.
if you type it in it's j i s o'o and obviously i try to look up this artist i couldn't find anything
about this artist and um i i want to say i'm like ignorant all i'm gonna say is um i feel like there's
different ways to get on like um new music playlist and to like specifically put somebody in the top
five that has zero monthly listeners on spotify you can literally look that up like right now
and for it to be top five on new music playlist which if you don't know it's basically like the new radio
the new music playlist for spotify's like the new radio like you get a lot more spins if you're on
that playlist because it's like the biggest thing people go to it and they're like i don't want to do
to do my own work and making uh my own playlist of new music so let me just go to this official
playlist and then press shuffle so basically you get more plays over time so anyways now that that's
out the way that's the biggest playlist platform that usually
allegedly,
major label artists
get placed on because they're major
label, I mean, reaches out to the connect
and Spotify, and I don't know
what happens, but allegedly,
they may get on these playlists
simply for the fact that they're on a major
label. So for this artist, to be
on the new music playlist,
top five, and then for her first
single to be called,
no, no, her first EP to be called
me, which is two tracks called Flower and All Eyes on Me.
Now, this is YG Entertainment distributed through,
distributed through Interscope Records.
Now, I know what you're probably thinking.
Man, I did not know YG, the rapper, started his own label.
Now, it's a whole different YG Entertainment,
and it's one of the more prominent K-pop major labels in the scene nowadays.
If you don't know who that is, then I'm sorry you got to look at it up for yourself.
But basically, what I'm trying to say is, obviously this is a major label play because there's no artist in the history of artistry to have zero monthly listeners and be top five on a new music Friday playlist under Spotify.
Like that's probably one of the biggest platforms or a playlist you can ever be on as an artist.
And she's top five with zero monthly listeners.
Now let me know if it's a good.
glitch, but from the looks of it, it don't look like it. It just looks like payola is happening
in front of our eyes. Allegedly, of course. So click my link to my bio. Let me know in one of my
social medias. What do you think about Jay Sue, the artist, and will you be giving her EP album
titled Me a Listen?
