Kalani by Jordan Adetungi.
Now, when it comes to naming songs after women that you find to be particularly attractive,
it seems to be a surefire way to get some type of engagement because it throws me back to when
Jack Harlow put out Duolipa, where he famously said, trying to do more than a feature.
and that was it and then it took off so um Jordan atotungi has a new track titled
Kalani and the reason why we're covering this today is because it reached number one on the
TikTok billboard top 50 charts dated back in of course today so when it comes to the overall
TikTok charts I've said time and time again the major labels the government they're trying to
get rid of TikTok and I think it's simply because of the algorithm putting more and more power
into the independence hands the major label the major machine is trying to mimic what TikTok does
authentically in this algorithm and they fail every single time so that being said they're they're
like throw the whole system away the government UMG do what you have to do but we try and make
TikTok not relevant anymore.
Like we don't want them to be relevant at all because they're taking away dollars from our
marketing machine because now people see that the type of marketing that they can build up
organically is something that we can.
I don't think foreign to kidding.
It's something that we can't even duplicate because of the lack of algorithm-based content
that we have on our own platform,
talking about Spotify, Apple Music.
Not really too many people,
or not any music platform,
can compete with the amount of marketing
that you can garner from TikTok.
Just keep that in mind if you're independent artists.
TikTok is really your best tool
if you're putting out music.
Now, for other lanes, I don't know.
For making money, I don't know.
But as far as it translating
to other platforms where you can make money,
TikTok is the best marketing platform
in the world for an independent.
musician okay so now that I got the head out the way uh Jordan Atotungi reached number one on
TikTok billboard top 50 and now because of that he debuted um what was it at oh he debuted
having the 26 most play track in the world all from TikTok promotion and it's been on the charts
for about seven weeks so you already know the song's been out for a while but now people are starting
they pay more attention to it simply because of the machine that is TikTok.
So seven weeks into the song's life cycle, it's the 26 most play track in the world
debuted at 53.
So at first it was the 53rd most play track in the world.
So it was already pretty popular.
And then it blew up on TikTok and now look at it.
It jumped a crazy amount of spots to get to the 26 most play track in the world.
And then when it comes to.
comes to the overall performance. I mean, there's a lot of comparisons made as far as like the tracks
around it and statistically. But what people aren't accounting for is it being number one on
TikTok billboard. That's one of the biggest marketing tools that you can use as an independent.
And speaking about that, because I know somebody's going to say, well, he's technically not an
independent. Okay, well, at a tunji and his track, Kalan,
is technically under 300 entertainment but it is an independent record label founded by
Leo Conan now when you hear Leo Conan's name independent is gonna go out the window
because you're probably gonna think well if one of the most highly influential
people in the music industry is backing your project then you're technically
not independent which you would be right if Universal Music and Warner
didn't completely run the industry so as far as the Lee or conning started his own
It's similar to when
I'm having a brain for it
But what was
I forget his name
But it was the music
Let me see
UMG
And
Dre let me see
It was somebody I was thinking about
I totally
I totally forgot
It wasn't it wasn't Lucian Grange
It was somebody else
Um
I don't know why I have a brain
I just had a complete brain for it.
But anyways, it was somebody else who was under UMG.
And he had a lot of power within UMG.
And he started his own group.
And actually, let me do that.
Sexy Red label under UMG.
That would tell me all I need to know.
Yeah, so sexy red is technically under.
Okay, it's not showing me.
That's great.
But, yeah, so powerful people in the industry sometimes get overthrown.
by the overall board of that specific major label and now they want to have more creative control so
they make their own label which technically they have all the knowledge but they still don't have the
strings attached whereas if they were still connected to the main machine which was which is a universal
music group a warner right via Atlantic so there's a reason why the granges lusian grange and
the sun has currently the most percentage as far as market share in the world
It's because Lucian Grange is head of Universal and then his son is the head of Atlantic and it just
happened like that deal.
It just happened.
I don't know how the government let that go through, but now they own like 36% of the entire
music market share.
So it's not as easy as just having somebody who has a lot of knowledge open and doors for
you.
You actually have to own certain labels in the scene.
So 300 is just not that.
Basically, I say all that to say 300 entertainment is not that when it comes to the bigger
labels in the world.
So it's basically strictly off of the success that he's had, speaking about Aditungi, the success that he's had on the TikTok charts.
And then of course, you know, one of the strategies that they've used simply for his track doing so well is they put out the speta version.
They put out the slowed and reverb version.
I mean, talk about the flak that French Montana got for doing the exact same thing.
But I guess when you're successful, nobody cares.
So, yeah, Atatungi is definitely going to have a lot of success with this particular track,
especially if it stays number one on the Billboard top 50 and just overall, as far as the
billboard charts are considered, having the 26 most played track in the world.
It's not too shabby.
So with that being said, click my link tree in my bio.
Let me know one of my social media is.
Have you heard the track Kalani by Jordan Adetanji?
And at the end of the day, do you think it's fire or trash?
Thank you.
