Starting point is 00:00:03 J.T. finally making a billboard entry with OK is a monumental accomplishment. Because everybody in the mom knows that she wasn't going to have this type of impact on the charts, continuously putting out music with Carisha, aka Young Miami, aka the City Girls. Because we all saw that J.T. would be better off going the same. solo route when it comes to the music creation process. So now that she's went solo, it's no surprise that her single okay is one of her, well, it's not her first, but is now another entry until the Billboard top 100. So with that being considered, I will say that when this track actually came out,
Starting point is 00:00:58 April 26th, I'm not going to say it took the whirl about storm, but the blend of JT's rapping style with the vibes from the 2000s era as far as like how the track appealed to the masses is very apparent. Then to add even more emphasis on the 2000s era, we have her remixing,
Starting point is 00:01:30 the single featuring the legendary GZ. So now that we have GZ, which, you know, he's been around for a minute. So I don't want to just coroner him into the 2000s era. But now that she has GZ on the track, I wonder how the track will perform compared to the original okay track. Because if you think about it, having a feature on a single is usually supposed to uplift the track. Now, I don't want to throw any aspersions on GZ, but I'm just going to say he is definitely a legacy act at this point. And it's nothing wrong with that. You know, if you can build your name in the game high enough to where you don't really have to impact the masses like that to be considered a legend because you've already done it so many times in the past.
Starting point is 00:02:24 And I think that quantifies a legacy act. And I think GZ is in that realm. So as far as a stamp from somebody who was very respected in a hip hop industry, I think having the GZ remix is one of the better things you can do as a new, not new, but as an artist who has a new hit. Let's just put it like that.
Starting point is 00:02:48 But if we're talking about the original performance analytically, I would have went with another feature to try to surpass that performance on the charts. I would have went with a Uzi. I mean, I feel like the layup is right there. I mean, just let Uzi come on. I mean, it's not like we haven't heard Uzi rap rap before. Like he's, I remember, what was that track call? The time with Uzi rap rap with,
Starting point is 00:03:15 is it G Herbo? Oh yeah, the Who Run It Remix. So I'm not saying, you know, this beat is like the Who Run It Beat, but, you know, as far as rapping and being able to assimilate or not even assimilate, but basically to tweak his style of rap to fit the beat. Obviously, we've seen Uzi do it before. I thought it'd been the perfect song for Uzi to pop out on, especially the okay. Like, I think he could have changed it into an ad lib, but I guess JT wanted to stand more on her own,
Starting point is 00:03:52 I would assume. So for the feature, I don't know what other options she would have had because no distribution. respect to j t but i don't think anybody's running out there to try to give a feature to jt so in the women field i think her being in the line with nicky going back to the whole team red and team blue she's picked her side cardy um lotto meggan the stallion who else i forget flow milly they're all off the table uh i mean i guess you could have put be on it i mean that that's on team i guess if you don't know there's a whole team a team it's like so team red it's like niki um jt bea uh who else it's really not that many of them i ain't gonna cap uh ice spice i would say even though ice spice
Starting point is 00:04:46 and nicky are currently beefing but then on team blue you have cardy megan lotto flomilly glorilla like it's it's stacked over there oh i guess yeah sexy red would be part of team red with niki in them so yeah but so yeah basically i say all that to say i don't even know why i spent this much time on a jt remix i i just think that she had a billboard entry with her original okay track the remix while maybe high quality because just because something streams a lot doesn't mean it's high quality i think that gets lost in translation whenever i'm talking about impacting the masses um impacting the masses is an objective stat that you can look at certified by billboards chart data things of that nature but as far as quality wise if the high like when j z said
Starting point is 00:05:38 something what was it common sense line don't make me bring up j z bar because he's going he's going captivate everything in one bar but uh let me see j z i'm really spending way too much time on this truck but let me see if i can pull this up I think it's moment of clarity. Isn't it ironic this track is titled Moment of Clarity? Oh, it's from the Black album. If y'all didn't know, Black Album is my favorite J.Z album. So anyways, dirt off your shoulders is like my favorite JZ song.
Starting point is 00:06:19 Isn't it funny we talk about Jay Z when covering the JT song? I've been trying to keep y'all educated, you know, these hip-hop fans, some of them be lost. Anyways, all right, here we go. If skills sold, you probably heard this like million times, but the reason you keep hearing it is because, it's so impactful and so is a prophetic I don't know it's like a prophet like sentiment that still can be used to this day
Starting point is 00:06:45 because remember this album the black album let's see the black album the black album came out November 14th 2003 goodness Jay Z's old that man that's an old man right there anyways let me see
Starting point is 00:07:04 all right if skills sold truth be told i'd probably be lyrically talib quali truthfully i want to rhyme like common sense but i did five mil which is low back then for j z i ain't been rhyming like common sense where's my where's my drop at no i'll wait hold up give me a second i lost my drop Oh, here we go. So for all my fucking bars, nigga. You know nothing about that. Now listen. That's cool motherfucking bars, nigga.
Starting point is 00:07:51 You know nothing about that. So for all my JT fans out there, let's just say that just because something sells well doesn't mean that it's high quality. And just because it's high quality doesn't mean that's going to sell well. That's why I said the whole emphasis on the JT GZ collab. because I think GZ would definitely raise the quality of the song, but as far as analytically impacting the masses is considered, I would have win with somebody else.
Starting point is 00:08:18 More preferably, probably Uzi is probably the best bet for JT. So anyways, with that being considered, what else? Hold on. Let me make sure I'm missing. Oh, JT's going on tour, or I think she's on tour. Yeah, she recently completed her solo headlining tour. That's funny. I like the way they put that.
Starting point is 00:08:41 It made it seem bigger than it actually was. But, you know, hey, and, you know, get your money out there. You know what I mean? Ain't nobody trying to stop your bag. You know what I mean? Get your money out there. I respect it. I respect it.
Starting point is 00:08:52 So anyways, click my link to you in my bio. Let me know in one of my social medias. What do you think about the JT and GZ remix of the track? Okay. And do you think it's fire or trash?
