Starting point is 00:00:00 It has to be discouraging as an up-and-coming artist or even a prominent artist, knowing that Gerard Anthony Higgins died in 2019 RIPD to him. And he's still top five, not five at all, not four at all, not three, not two. But number one, as far as the highest album sales in 2023. Now, if you're wondering what I'm talking about, I'm speaking on no other than, or none other than the iconic juice world, as his Fighting Demons album is still the highest album as far as sales in 2023, according to Billboard. So even though he passed away in 2019, unfortunately, he's still the top selling rapper in 2023. And I don't know about y'all, but for the drakes, for the young boys, for the pop smokes, for the little babies, that has to be discouraging because at some point, you just have to realize that people are just going to love you more when you pass away. Is there ever a such thing as giving somebody their flowers while they're still alive?
Starting point is 00:01:16 Or giving them their praise and the overwhelming praise as they are still here to hear it, to see it, and to feel the energy. But I guess that's not the case for Juice World, as he's been running the charts even more than he did before he passed away, and he was still a prominent artist at that time. But I say that to say this, lyrical lemonade is coming back again with Cole Bennett preparing for the first ever compilation album. And they don't know, well, we don't know. nobody knows when the first album will eventually come out but we have been given a release date for the first single and it has none other than juice world and corday now i know that's a interesting pairing and by interesting i mean you don't know what's going to happen with this type of pairing but at the end of the day when you have juice world you know it's going to run the charts and
Starting point is 00:02:23 when you have Corday, you know it's going to be some type of lyricism implemented into the track. So for lyrical lemonade, it makes sense to have these two on the same track titled Doomsday, and it will be coming out June 23rd, and also it samples Eminem's iconic single role model. Now, trying to get an Eminem sample in 2023 is a feat in itself, so I'm beyond excited to hear this track, as it's been extremely dry. hip-hop i think a i has just ran with a crown and hasn't returned or hasn't looked back since because all of the a i tracks is just blowing all of our real musicians out of the water and it's sad to say but i don't know if they're going to catch up anytime soon because you let me know when we're
Starting point is 00:03:11 going to get a drake and gunna feature in the future and currently right now shameless plug i just covered it if you look at my uh track listening drake and gunna just collapsed I have allegedly via technology and it's the Rodeo track with Drake's vocals. So anyways, the biggest thing about this sample from Eminem's iconic role model track is that it's produced by Dr. Jay. Juice Whirl rapping over a Dr. Dre beat seems like a match made in heaven. even with Corday, who had one of my favorite albums of last year, even though a lot of people didn't really prefer a bird's eye view and really didn't give it the type of notoriety that I think it should have deserved.
Starting point is 00:04:03 I think it earned it, but I don't think a lot of people really relate to Corday's lifestyle as far as him being a law-abiding citizen, you know? I feel like hip-hop's more of a champion of the people who will tell you that kill you 20 times over. and in 2022 when he released it from from a bird's eye view it was really a um a concept album with a lot of heavy lyricism implemented throughout so i don't think a lot of people was really relating to that at all anyways cobbinett talked about last year how he was wanting to make a album for our generation and he kind of gave a quote saying well quote you know obviously like the lyric lyrical lemonade album has always been in discussion for you know since things really popped off it was always like
Starting point is 00:04:51 it would be really cool if there was a lyrical lemonade album he kept saying you know so i'm just gonna take that out that was just built out with a lot of like it's a compliment yeah it's this is not this is not concise at all it's a compilation album with a lot of the artists that we worked with and just creating different vibes and bringing different worlds together but i never wanted to do it because man i really hated labels really bad for a long time well really really bad for a long time just because it just rubbed me the wrong way now i'm learning to just appreciate it more i think i just matured you know what i mean because i was so DIY i don't know what that means like anti industry so i guess he explained it And I just never wanted to do it.
Starting point is 00:05:41 The timing was wrong. So now, Colbitt has came around with cooperating with labels. So I'm interested to hear this project. Obviously, there's a lot of other interesting tidbits, like who else is going to be on a compilation album. But that's to be revealed in the foreseeable future as currently I am all hands on deck for this new single, biolyrical lemonade and Cole Bennett titled Juice, well titled doomsday that's performed by juice world and corday so click my link show in my bio let me know one of my social media's what do you think about lyrical lemonade putting out the single by juice world and corday and will you be
Starting point is 00:06:25 giving it a listen when it eventually drops june 23rd
