Starting point is 00:00:03 Julian Alvarez is back again and when I say back again I mean as far as putting our music since 2012 and then having a track that charts you in 2024 safe to say that he has a certain longevity and especially it's a testament to his fan base as he just returned to the billboards hot Latin songs top 10 now specifically in Mexico it's a number two most listened to track in the world which will get into number one in a soon well in the future segment which I'm about to do soon but basically covering latin music has let me see the overall landscape of music from not just a state's perspective because of course the specific track that julian alvarez is on as far as it blowing up on the charts right now is racine reina which is basically attract demonstrating how whenever you have a certain amount of streaming activity from your current fan base it could ultimately affect the U.S. official streams because if you don't know overseas artists have to have a minimum amount of streams in the U.S. for even to be certified
Starting point is 00:01:20 for RIAA but specifically in this region and specifically from Mexico I mean it's a top 10 Latin hit and the last top 10 entry was L. Armor that's Vita back in 2015. So that's why I started this off talking about longevity because Julian has all the longevity in the world when it comes to putting up these impressive records. Now, of course, he already has a listenership. I mean, 200 and, oh no, sorry, 17.5 million monthly listeners as I really wanted to get into Racine Raina, which is a specific track we're covering for today, because
Starting point is 00:02:03 not only does it demonstrate his fan base just consistently sticking around for his musical releases and despite the gap between the last top 10 hit he's still talking about julian he still has maintained a presence in the music scene which a lot of people if they don't have or even come close to the previous highest successor they just give up so as far as the perseverance as far as the waiting it not even waiting it out just working through all of the quote unquote downfalls when it comes to trying to match the success of el armor des suvita back in 2015 he's definitely accomplished that and more as this specific track as far as racine reina has generated over four million official streams in the u.s so we're not talking about mexico anymore in the u.s
Starting point is 00:02:57 so as far as charting is obviously doing well in the states but then in his own region as far as Mexico it's just top two and it's not one but you know hey top two is still a humongous accomplishment so with that being said i really wanted to just get into the cultural impact because of course when he first came out there's a nostalgia light factor whenever he puts out music for the simple fact that he's been putting out music since 2012 but because of the consistency because of the return to the top 10 a lot of people have talked about his evolution and the Latin music field because their music is as part of the regional Mexican genre, which is what I've been referring to as far as overseas artists.
Starting point is 00:03:43 And they're, because you know, you have Afrobees, you have K-pop, you have the Latin music scene. There's so many different scenes that's now making a pivotal play in the landscape of music for the simple fact that the internet exists. Because back then, if you was going to try to impact the masses in the states, good luck with that. because a lot of things is of a barrier to entry that no longer exists because of the creation of the internet and the evolution of the internet because now is way, I'm not going to say super easy, but I don't know, it is super easy to get your music up on our DSPs at this point. So, you know, it's better, it's a better landscape for music because you have less gatekeepers.
Starting point is 00:04:25 I know a lot of people try to say, oh, we need gatekeepers for bad music to stay out of the culture. well, there's always bad music, whether it's a gatekeeper or not. I mean, how many executives do you know put in their offspring into positions that they have no idea what they're doing, right? So as far as in music, I love how everybody gets a, it's not an equal opportunity because you still need a marketing machine, which for Julian Alvarez is Copart music, which if you don't know, this was a record label from the 1960s. I mean, talk about old, right?
Starting point is 00:04:58 I'll just play. All right. So, yeah, Copart music is affiliated with BMI. And some of the notable releases include singles by artists like Chubby Chester and Mickey Gilley, which if you're familiar with that, then you definitely know more about the Latin music scene than me. But with that credit, with that long-term, long-term credit as far as being around in the 1960s, you get a person like Alvarez who's impacting the 2024 charts, but not only. only that of course the regional Mexican charts and then when it comes to his EP people are
Starting point is 00:05:35 more inclined to listen to the other three tracks that he currently has out now on all DSPs that's titled Attento Avizo and then Racin's Raina because it's basically the main track so the EP is about nine minutes long and EP stands for extended play because a lot of people get that confused how is that the EP if it's shorter than a project, all the titles are just used to confuse you and it's really smoking mirrors. I'm just giving you the actual
Starting point is 00:06:07 definition of EP. It stands for extended play, but in the music scene, it's meant to describe something that's shorter than a regular project. Why they label that extended play, the world may never know. But technically,
Starting point is 00:06:23 an EP, which is extended play, is longer than a single, but it's shorter than a full length album. So that's why they call it that. So I know a lot of people is getting that confused. I've received a lot of questions about that. Why would they call it extended play if it's shorter than the actual project?
Starting point is 00:06:40 I'm like, I don't know, man. I ain't invent these terms. I ain't invent the definitions. Y'all got to take it up with them. I mean, I'm just reporting. You know? So anyways, yeah, at the end of day, as far as the global charts, it debuted at number 11.
Starting point is 00:06:54 I know, a number 112. That's completely off. Yeah, so it debuted at 112 on a billboard, Global 200, and number 93 on Global Exclusive US as far as marking their highest position on both charts. So to bring this full circle, Julian Alvarez and the ultimate persistence and the testament to his fan base's longevity as far as supporting. His contributions to the music scene has definitely been rewarded. And this is not only a personal success for a Julian, of course, but also just a humongous testament to how if you build from the ground up and you give them content that's quality, they will consistently support you to where now almost 10 years after his top 10 appearance on the charts, he has another one in 2024. Think about that. Your first top 10 comes in 2015, and then you don't get your other top 10 entry until
Starting point is 00:08:05 2024. I mean, that should just speak for itself as far as the accomplishments and how to overcome and just persevere through certain obstacles. So with that being said, click my link to your bio. Let me know in one of my social medias. What do you think about racing Raina? And also check out Julian Alvarez's new EP out now in all DSPs titled Atento Eviso. racing right now.
