Starting point is 00:00:00 So Callie Uchis, I believe, is how you pronounce her name. And she is back to Bless her fans with her third studio LP, which is basically full-length project. It's not an EP. It's not two tracks. She just felt like giving to the fans. It's a full-length project called Red Moon and Vegas. Now, this is 15 songs, and why am I reviewing it as a hip-hop reviewer? because I've always noticed it, but certain artists in a pop genre or just in other genres in general
Starting point is 00:00:38 kind of let their inspirations be shown and known when they're inspired by hip-hop music. And I think for Callie Uchis, hopefully I'm saying her name right, she is obviously tapped in with the hip-hop culture as she has a feature from Don Tolliver, which obviously you could say, oh, Justin Bieber did, and then some other artists, I forget, some other off, not off brand, but some other out of genre artists used Don Tolliver. But specifically, Don Tolliver is quote unquote a niche hip hop artist. Like when you think of hip hop, Don Tolliver probably won't even be the first 20 names you list. So that's not only why I'm saying Kelly Uch's is kind of. inspired and not even inspired just tapped into the hip hop culture she also enlisted the help of summer walker who is undoubtedly in the hip hop culture so that's why i really wanted to touch on this and just give a shout out shout out to this artist because when artists are from a different genre and are successful they really don't have to appeal to the hip hop
Starting point is 00:02:00 crowd or the hip hop I would say demographic but hip hop is the number one genre obviously so I'm not going to say demographic but just the hip hop crowd as far as very in the know about
Starting point is 00:02:17 who's the latest up and coming rapper who's the latest up and coming R&B singer and for Kali Uchis to pick Don Tolliver and Summer Walker who are too on the I feel like for both of her Both of these tracks, I really like the Summer Walker track more in general because I'm going to get into it.
Starting point is 00:02:39 But I really just want to highlight for this segment that Kuli, I didn't call it, I don't call it all type of names at this point. Callie Uchis is back again with her third album. And she basically gave a love message to her fans explaining that, quote, Red Moon and Venus is timeless. burning expiration expiration man sometimes I just read like Floyd Mayweather I'm like bro how how did I make
Starting point is 00:03:07 like revenue out of just talking like I just don't understand like sometimes I just mess up I'm just like bro how am I even doing this but anyways let me start over the quote so Calli Ujah says quote Red moon and Venus is timeless burning expression of desire heartbreak faith
Starting point is 00:03:28 and honesty, reflecting the design femininity of the moon and Venus. The moon and Venus worked together to make key aspects of love and domestic life work well. And if that wasn't enough for diehard Cali fans, just know she also went further saying, quote, This body of work represents all levels of love, releasing people with love, drawing love into your life and self-love. It's believed by many astrologers that the blood moon can send your emotions into a spin, and that's what I felt represented this body of work best. So of course, this is her third full-length project, Red Moon and Venus, following her sophomore release, which I definitely can't pronounce. I'm not even going to try to pronounce, but what it translates to in English is without fear in parentheses of love and other demons. So just by the title alone and Callie explaining the meaning of her album, you can probably tell that she put some effort
Starting point is 00:04:47 fourth on her project. And I've heard Callie in the past, and I really enjoyed the way she sings. And I feel like I'm not the biggest Cali fan, but when I listen to her, I can tell why she's garnered a fan base. Like, it's definitely a different type of energy that she puts on her tracks. But for me, it's not really my cup of tea, but it's not, it doesn't mean it's bad. It's just not my style of music. I listen to on a routine basis.
Starting point is 00:05:23 So yeah, uh, Callie Uchus, hopefully I haven't. If I mispronounce the name, hey, just let me know. Click my link to you in my bio and let me know on one of my social medias. What do you think about Callie Uchis dropping her third full-length project, Red Moon in Vegas? And will you be giving it a listen?
