Diving back into the artist that is unequivocally, the ultimate pioneer for women in the Latin music game.
As not only the Latin music game, but just the music industry in this entirety.
As when it comes to Carol G, objectively speaking, she is the hottest artist from Latin music.
And we're not just talking about looks, obviously.
but when it comes to musical output,
Dropit Coquetta is currently the fifth most played album in the world.
And then of course, when it comes to her top performing track globally,
Latina Forever is the 80th most, 80th most played track,
been on a charge for about four weeks.
And of course, I wanted to dive into one of the tracks
that's not being talked about as much in this immensely popular album.
As is one track, interestingly enough, is the most popular in Mexico, but it's not the most popular globally for Carol G specifically.
As when it comes to Colixiano Heridas, that is currently the 25th most played track in Mexico specifically.
But that's our only track that's charting in Mexico.
And then you come to globally, and you come to realize Latina Forever is the 80th most played track.
This is why I go over the charts specifically in certain regions and globally, because it's just, you know,
just showcases what region is what they are gravitating towards as far as certain albums as
tropical quetta the world has championed latina forever as being the top track from caro g but in mexico
specifically collectionado heredis is the most popular track for people in mexico so now with that
out the way of course when we're talking about caro g we have to let it be known my
coverage as far as throughout the years because one of the biggest things that a lot of people
need to watch as far as being or just understanding the immense impact of carol g to be
pun intended the notorious mass effect of caro g she has her own documentary on netflix
titled mayna fuy bonito which released may 8th of this year directed by christina constant
constantini and is nearly a two-hour film
chronicling Carol G's rise.
And with that being said, she had a lot of record-breaking moments.
And of course, the Grammy wins to go along with it.
A lot of other accolades to go along with it.
But the main thing you need to know is just like in hip-hop and people who watch hip-hop
and just been watching it for quite some time, they understand that Onika, Tanya Mirage,
no matter what women artists came before her, as far as the heights of music,
She broke the barrier as far as female rappers being looked at in a certain light and being treated as actual lyricists alongside the male musicians.
Now, I know some people may say Queen Latifah, Lauren Hill, which those are all credible people to bring up.
As far as Nikki commercially and substance, I think she's objectively speaking, the top dog, the cream of the crop when it comes.
the female rappers. Now, to switch gears into the Latin field, Carol G, I believe, is that same type of
artists as there may have been, well, not may have. There's, there's people that came before
Carol G. that tried to do what she did as far as being a woman in the Latin field making a name
and putting more respect on women artists making carritos, tumbados. But Carol G, objectively speaking,
from a commercial side, and personally, I do like her music. So from a, uh, a quality side,
I do believe that she's one of, not one of,
she's the top artist as far as pioneering the movement
for the respect of Latin music from women, right?
And of course, with that being said,
getting to more sales is Tropical Quetta
as far as the first week.
I don't think we actually have first week sales
for Tropical Quetta,
but as far as streams on DSPs,
Carol G did one,
actually let's do some math right quick.
you know what i'm about to turn to a little professor so 1.5 billion streams right so that's a lot of
zeros i ain't going to lie to you let me see how many zeros is that there we go uh uh no that's
million all right let's keep going on there we go 1.5 billion okay and then we hit the plus button
you know what I'm saying 177 million stream this is definitely some ghetto math right now I
ain't going to lie to you 177 million streams on Apple and
and then 89 million streams on amazon so put a little bit more zeros in there okay now we have
that number and now we just divide that by let me see usually it's 1500 to equivalent to one
album unit uh let's see so as far as in the first week globally as far as in the first week globally
um it's looking like she did 1.1 million
as far as streams
converted into album units.
Now, of course, after RRAA gets into it,
they come away with a different number,
but at the end of the day,
she does have the fifth most played album in the world
as far as Tropical Quetta,
and she did sell 41,000,
and it's July 9th.
This album came out June 20th.
So safe to say that it probably was around
the million mark as far as first week sales,
because as far as Latin musicians, as far as other musicians and other genres,
it's really not popularized as far as the first week sales like we do in hip hop.
So it's kind of hard to understand exactly what her first week sales are.
But that's a good, like, rough estimate.
She definitely did a lot.
And, okay, so June 24th when the album first came out, man, I was way off.
She had, this is why it's great to fact check.
You know, we try not to spread fake news over here.
But anyways, Tropical Quetta aimed for the number three debut.
with 55,000 units first week.
And of course, when it comes to the streams converting into albums units,
you have to understand that also RIAA and of course, Billboard,
they have to solidify certain numbers.
So at the end of the day, sometimes the number comes out a little higher, a little lower.
Obviously what I had as far as around a million, they had a lot lower.
Let's just put it like that.
So 550,000 units first week is what was objectively reported by Billboard.
So 2000 in pure album sales and that 2000 is just people who actually bought the project, not the streams to converting into album units.
So still a very respectable first week sales as far as Carol G.
And when it comes to her fans and their support for her and definitely showcases why she's having a lot of these analytic successes on her jacket as far as this album.
because when it comes to the track specifically, as far as Colaccionado Heritus, being the 25th most play track in Mexico, you also realize that is the fastest rising Latin track globally on Spotify as far as when it dropped.
So not only as Carol G's core audience loving her music, but also she's transitioning and she's not transitioning because she's being a pop star.
But as far as globally, they're also listening to her music, which is why her numbers looks like that.
And to be fair, the number I came up with as far as the million units sold first week, as far as converting the streams into album units, sometimes when you're an overseas artist, R-I-Double, well, not sometimes, every time.
R-I-A needs a certain amount of U.S. units to even solidify your overall certification, whether it's gold, platinum, you need a number of units sold in U.S. specifically.
So to be fair, a lot of these reports are from American services.
We really don't know the mass appeal from overseas because that happened with Central C.
Central C first week sales.
Let me see.
Central C first week.
Central C is an overseas artist, right?
And he came out and did $42,000 first week with his album.
So with him doing 42,000 first week, you come to realize that he could have did what he probably did do way more as far as in the UK, but those type of metrics aren't really solidified as much in the U.S.
You know what I mean?
Don't hate the player, just hate the game.
That's just how it is as far as RIAA as far as Billboard, Luminant, you know, they have their games, right?
So I do believe when it comes to Central C, he could have did way bigger numbers over in UK.
but when it comes to Billboard and R IAA, let's just say, it's skewed a little bit to the American audience.
So with that being said, just wanted to let you know the pun intended, the notorious mass effect of Carol G
and how she's still going crazy even having another track as far as Colaxiano Horridis going crazy in Mexico specifically.
Wow, she also has another track blowing up globally as far as Latina forever.
And then, of course, cannot forget the ultimate fact that she is a big dog,
in 2025 as far as the album release as still came out june 20th and july 9th is still the fifth
most play album in the world so with that being said click my link to you my bio let me know in one of
my social media is what do you think about carol g's latest album tropical quetta and of course
