Starting point is 00:00:03 Now, what in the fusion is this? I'm not going to lie to you. When I first looked at this and its entirety, I was thinking to myself, but then you know what I'm saying? I was like, damn, look at the state of hip hop. Like, what's going on? Because at the end of the day, as far as K-pop and hip-hop collabs, I've covered numerous of tracks that benefited from both cultures coming together,
Starting point is 00:00:28 whether it was Lotto and Junk, whether it was Junk, Jimin and Jermaine at the end of the day when it comes to these specific collabs in American and K-pop culture and seemingly is affecting the masses in a way that makes them want to check out their music a little bit more often right the reason why I say that is because there's a new group titled Katz I ladies and gentlemen this is the well it's one of the first times I've ever covered a group that mixes K-pop choreography with American pop energy what does that mean only the Lord knows so with
Starting point is 00:01:08 that be it said the members of Sophia Manon Denyella Laura Megan Jun Che and of course combined they represent the Philippines South Korea Switzerland and of course the United States now of course the label because you know there's a label behind this monstrosity right the label behind this experiment is hive and geffen records shout out to them for doing the lord's work because ain't nobody being the independent and mixing all these cultures off of a whim right somebody was in their dungeon of whatever major label and was thinking to themselves how can we affect the mass and they said you know what let's just mix k-pop in america culture so that's expect that's essentially what this group is but of course when it comes to this group
Starting point is 00:02:06 and it comes to the offerings the most popular track currently as far as chart predictions for june 21st they are set to have the 44th most played track in the world with their track gnarly and the thing about this is that it was released april 30th it is June 17th so of course with the marketing strategies they were inevitably successful. So as the gnarly comes out as a Gen Z expression of chaos, rebellion, and irony, you come to realize there's a lot of things being played behind the scenes to pander towards the masses. Because I'm not saying that they aren't authentically being themselves. I'm just saying I've never really seen a group come together this fast and have a top 10 hit.
Starting point is 00:02:57 Or not top 10, but top 50 hit. so with that being said they do have an album coming out in nine days and well a EP technically it has gnarly gabriella game boy mean girls and mea uh you can pre-save it right now and with that being said it's under hybe and you oh umg is also you know because hive and geffin is the subsidiary of you and umg so this album's coming out june 27 as far as the overall group just know they've been having success especially on spotify uh streams uh with them having with them having 18 no 14.8 a million monthly listeners so um obviously somebody is listening to them and gnarly is another representation of them just having a a mass affecting uh you know a track that
Starting point is 00:03:55 affects the masses let's just put like that because really as far as listening to to attract as far as them getting certain placements in that in Netflix promos like gentry chow versus the underworld um a lot of interesting placements on ticot as far as being in the post in hyphen cameo um the live performance schedule for 2025 kids choice awards as far as later uh well it's coming up soon june 21st hosted by tyler i may talk about industry plants galore but Anyways, the main thing I want to say is when it comes to billboard coming out and naming this group 21 under 21 list. Basically, I think they're doing like the top 21 under 21, right? I mean, self-explanatory.
Starting point is 00:04:46 But, you know, call me cynical or not cynical, but you know, call me ignorant. But I just believe at this point in time, we can officially say that. they just might be an industry plant because usually when people say industry plan, I think that's a cop out to say, oh, you don't listen to these artists. But then when I go to the discography, I go all the way down and see that they've only been putting out music since 2024, literally exactly, June 28, 2024 up until now and now they have a top 50 hit. And every single release from 2024 until now is under Hib, UMG, LLC. You guys.
Starting point is 00:05:31 See, that's the problem. So, that being said, I think y'all get the point, right? And, you know, to put the icing on the cake, literally, Ice Spice was on the remix for NARly as far as, you know, to give it more of a boost, I guess, in the analytics. And then that ended up as far as their 20, okay, so that was the first release of 2025 as far as the NARLY remix for Ice Spice, right? To captivate off of the huge success of NARLY.
Starting point is 00:05:59 before that 2024 the y2k exclamation point album which was 10 tracks that peaked at number 18 on billboard 200 and it was number three on top rn b and hip-hop albums hmm so that was ice spice right those is analytics for ice spice i'm just letting y'all know certain things going on behind the scenes and the hands that are in the pot makes them more incentivized to increase a exposure and with that being said i'll let y'all do with that information which you will so with that being said click my link to you in my bio let me know one of my social medias what do you think about the group's cat's eye and do you agree with me as far as thinking they're an industry plant or did they just grind for a year and a half and end up having the top 50 track in the world
