Make sure I hit the record button.
Okay.
Kendrick Lamar and Timothy Shalmet.
I think that's how you say it.
Exclusive interview ahead of the Apple Music halftime.
Of course, the Super Bowl halftime show already happened.
I'm pretty sure that this interview wouldn't have happened if he knew that
Kendrick Lamar was going to give such a subpar performance.
But, you know, hey, that's just me, right?
Some people think, you know, the set design is all that you needed for the performance.
All I keep hearing as far as it being a good performance is the set design.
I'm not hearing the set list at all.
They're not naming the set design.
the lyrics that stood, well, they're saying A minor, but you know, of course, that's the only track
that they wanted him, though, therefore. So with that out the way, of course, let's get into
the Kendrick Lamar and Timothy Shalman interview. I'm probably butchering his last name.
I know people who watch like TV shows and movies are probably killing me right now.
That's like the most popular actor. How are you mispronouncing his name?
Well, buddy, I don't watch movies or TV shows like that, well, except for Marvel and the
Captain America movie is coming up, so I will be watching that. But anyways, enough talking.
Let's get into the interview.
right now well if they play music I'm probably not to mute it at certain points but
anyways let's get into the interview and also this is the interview audio this is not like my
audio messing up is coming in through one ear on purpose yeah exactly
go see you see but on you see but oh safety safety first safety first
all right sounds like man people are you saying I look soft
All right.
Got you.
Yeah, the studio for you.
It's been a while, you know, you might come off with a little bit of riders' riding.
So we always got this thing about, like, keeping the pan-in-law for this exercise going there, doing 16 bars, going home.
You know, always just keep moving.
High field, if it's been a while for you.
Yeah.
I kind of like this interview.
I like the way they're going back and forth as far as their respective crafts,
because obviously, Timothy is, I think he's, like, one of the top actors in his field currently.
like all i know is that people be talking about how he be taking all of tom holland's like roles like as far as
the roles that tom holland ones apparently they all go to timothy i don't know how much truth is that
like how much truth that holds but at the end of day i mean Timothy is seemingly at the top of his
craft kendrick is obviously at the top of his craft i mean it's really a comparison well it's a argument
to be made that he's probably the best rapper we've ever had in hip-hop and i don't say that lightly
So that being said, and my favorite rapper is Drake.
So if a Drake fan is saying that, I mean, you already know that Kendrick has done some monumental things to make it undeniable to the point where he's probably the best rapper to ever live.
Well, dead or a lot.
So with that being said, let's get back into it.
Take a minute for you warm up in front of the camera.
Take a minute to remember the lines.
Getting to the character.
How long does that process?
Yeah, all the above, you know, I try to prep at home.
But the thing about acting is if you don't have an audience, it's just a form of insanity.
you know can you're just what are you doing you know so uh I'll definitely try to warm up and then
you know lose that self-consciousness when you when you finally my favorite thing throughout
this whole interview call me petty but I love seeing Kendrick adjusts
adjust to see how you how far up y'all think Kendrick adjusts is all right my fault
let me play the interview yeah that takes time well I don't think you can get much
closest to the wheel my brother.
Hey, you know, that, uh, the most important part of a bad day is like the way you leave it.
And if you could leave a bad take or a bad day with a positive attitude, then you have nothing to fear, you know.
That's probably one of the biggest misconceptions.
Probably about me as artists.
I'm always locked in and I'm always trying new things.
Whether or not I like them is a whole other right conversation.
But I have to.
to keep the Pymour, you know, it's my not from sanity.
And it's also, what's also has given me, uh, the opportunity to marry myself,
you know, find out why him?
You mean do the styles of expression or the actual lyricism or everything?
I mean, because when we're right, man, you gotta sit and go through the emotions and be vulnerable
about it.
I'm not whether it's a, a fun song.
The reason why I respect this interview is because these are two individuals as, you
at the perceived top of the craft.
And they're both like talking about the creation process of it.
So I think this is pretty, uh,
it's pretty informative at the bare minimum, right?
It's not a long interview so we can't get too much from it.
But at the end of the day, I think them going back and forth like this is pretty, uh,
it's helpful for people on the, on the rise,
whatever craft they chose, right?
So,
you know, got some type of depth or not.
These are still relatively your personality, you know, pushing through.
And so a lot of these records are right, man.
Like stuff I would never express or even known about myself if it wasn't for an instrumental behind it.
With my projects, it always would always be that one record.
I feel like, okay, got the GNX.
That I want everyone to hear, you know what I'm saying?
in order to push the narrative or just a message and the tone that I want to get across.
I have so many other records that have different narratives and tones, you know, like reflection, right?
To preserve a space for that one that I want everyone to hear, that's what...
Interesting.
That's what pushes me, man.
That's why I like the man at the garden, and even the fact that it's at the top of the record.
Yeah, that's how it felt like to me, you know.
just being a fan of music forever and knowing like look where you're at now man like it's this
crazy super bowl halftime show uh and you just keep climbing bro it's like amazing appreciate it yeah i mean
that's though man in the garden i mean everywhere on that muff man that's probably the easiest
record to write you know i ain't a lot man at the garden is probably my favorite well one of my favorite
records on g and x i think man at the garden just off the top of my head uh probably reincarnated
and the heart part six i like how you
took the heart part six back from drake and really gave a authentic story on his obvious turmoil
with a top dog from from t well punch from td right because if you don't know they had a lot of
a lot of beef back in um what was the back in 2019 basically
Kendrick no no no day free left t dee and he was the co-president of that and kendrick followed
with him and because of that a lot of turmoil happened between punch from top dog and
Kendrick so it was a lot of back and forth and so I love the heart part six and I like the way he
took it back from Drake and I think it was just a very um lyrical heavy track when it comes to
quality level definitely a masterclass on those three tracks as far as man at the garden um reincarnated
and the heart part six just a masterclass on how to per work
together. Yvonne Franklin said thanks for your channel. Hey, thank you. Thank you, Yvonne for checking it out.
Just know that this will be up after the fact if you want to watch the full Vod or if you're
missing part of this on it'll be up on analytic dreams video on Spotify if you want to see the full Vod
if you're not able to catch the whole thing right now. But I definitely appreciate you tuning in live.
But yeah, so with Kendrick talking about how Man at the Garden came so quickly to him
lyrically, it makes so much sense because if you listen to Man at the Garden, it's
the definition of what a lyric is about as far as getting the message across and still
make it in an artistic expression that everybody can relate to so anyways you know and uh
i figured out who i am in this present moment you know all right and then that was it so
three minutes and 30 seconds i don't know if there was a longer video with him and timothy shaman but
all i got to say is i ain't gonna lie to you that man kendrick looked like he did not want to be there
maybe i'm reading too much into it but i got to i got to know
the bag that they gave this man because it seems like this man Kendrick was just like not focused at all
like he was just like kind of saying the same thing as far as keeping the pin in motion it's like he
came into the interview like I'm gonna say there's one thing and there's one thing only and he was like
the bag is not big enough for me to dive into what I actually think so it was like you know it was an
interesting interview I don't know how Timothy felt but it seemed like Timothy was more of a fan than
Kendrick than Kendrick was of him but you know you never know because I mean Kendrick really
never said he was a fan of Timothy
but Timothy towards the end of this interview
so he was a huge fan of Kendrick
so interesting how that works out
but that's basically my reaction
of the Kendrick Lamar Timothy Schaeman
interview I mean
I thought I was going to get more out of it
I guess I was a little underwhelmed
but I do like how he pinpointed
a man at the garden because it's definitely a masterclass
on how to put words together
so with that being said click my link to my bio
let me know one of my social medias
what do you think about Kendrick Lamar and
Timothy Shalman's interview and do you
think as a Kendrick fan
Kendrick wanted to do this interview with Timothy Shalmet.
