Starting point is 00:00:03 All of this speculation about a new Kendrick Lamar song and the only thing I keep thinking about is the 18,000 units first week for DJ Musters album, Faith of a Mustard seat. Now, of course, I like DJ Mustard and obviously Kendrick likes DJ Mustard as one of the reasons, one of the main reasons he even came out on top. No Did he? as far as the beef is the specific track produced by DJ Mustard when we're talking about the beat because if we're talking about the most popular hip-hop song of 2024 consumption-wise I mean not like us has been on the charts for about 15 weeks and guess what it hasn't even
Starting point is 00:00:49 left top three as it peaked at number one and is currently still the third most place song in the world after a whopping 15 weeks and that's not to see. discredit Kendrick Lamar because of course he had to do his part as far as the performance aspect of rapping. But when you have two songs in the top 50 as far as damn being the 43rd most played album in the world and then Good Kid Mad City being the 47th most played album in the world. But then you come to the singles and not like us is your most popular track on the charts. You would think that an Instagram post story, Twitter post, maybe just a fake spaces where you just talk about DJ Musta and the impact he had on the beef, one of the biggest beefs in hip hop history. But none of that happened, right?
Starting point is 00:01:46 So one of the people who helped you get one of your most popular songs ever, maybe the most popular Kendra Mar song ever. and you shed no light on his attempt to capitalize off of that with his very own album, which ultimately ended up in him selling 18,000 units first week. Now, I know a lot of people say, oh, first week sales, they don't matter. Nobody's selling nowadays. Well, my brother, you are wrong. Nobody in hip-hop is selling because if you look at the top five, I mean, country and pop has just took over the charts when we're talking about consumption-wise.
Starting point is 00:02:26 And as we'll get to in a second, apparently the rules have been changed a little bit as far as airplay and streams are considered. So now certain genres are getting more airplay, which is radio and things of that nature, versus a hip-hop genre as a whole and totality. So if you have big machines backing other genres and they're all on the charts, and then hip hop is the one being pushed to the side for whatever the reason is. Wouldn't you try to come together, especially for somebody who helps you out so much in 2024 to shine a light on this project? But hey, maybe I'm just making stuff up, right? Maybe if somebody gave you a number one hip and they try to capitalize off of that
Starting point is 00:03:10 by putting out their own album, maybe you wouldn't promote it either, right? So anyways, everybody's speculating on the fact that. that, well, on the rumor, that Kendrick Lamar will be putting out a new track. Now, the biggest thing I have with this is that Kendrick Lamar is the Kuwait Leonard of hip hop. He puts out a track and then he goes away. And because of him having the Toronto Raptors type run currently in 2024, a lot of people don't say anything. But we really do have to keep in mind that if you want somebody to carry hip hop, he has to be around. I mean, I hope that goes without saying. So, whenever he puts out
Starting point is 00:03:50 damn and then it goes away for about 2018, 2019, 2019, 2020, 2020, 2020, goes away for about four to five years, right? And then puts out his next album, Mr. Morale, and the Big Steppers, which a lot of people say is one of his worst albums in his own, like compared to himself, people say that's one of his worst albums. So when you get to the fact that not like us seems to be a
Starting point is 00:04:17 resurgence of Kendrick Lamar and now it seems to be going towards more of an LA-inspired album as far as the themes and the production. You get some type of, there's a lot of resentment garnered by the people that felt like they helped Kendrick's overall perception when it came to the unity of LA. So will Kendrick give back on his album as far as having LA artists on it? Because he already didn't give back to one of the producers who helped him with his biggest track so my guess is that he is going to completely disregard the whole uniting of LA and shift the focus back to himself I think the pop-out tour was the first and last time that he was going to shine
Starting point is 00:05:05 the light on all these LA rappers so with that being said the album speculation of course is that Kendrick will be putting out an album August 8th well ladies and gentlemen it is August it's 25th. So that's wrong. But they thought that because of the date that you could see on Kendrick's jacket in the music video for Not Like Us, which is just a popular clothing brand. A lot of people was making something out of nothing. So fast forward. And you get into his recent activities as far as the music video for Not Like Us. A lot of people talking about how he is currently working on a new album. But the speculation is that it will be coming soon. Well, that was about a month ago and we still haven't heard anything from kensi glomar so in all actuality one of the people that
Starting point is 00:06:00 everybody's championing because of one song by a producer who he let flop trying to capitalize off of that opportunity is completely his his game plan is completely disappearing and we have no projection and no future date on where he's going to come back so that's why i'm reporting on this as everybody is saying that he's gearing up to drop soon. I don't know what soon is because they said the album was supposed to come on August 8th and that was all speculation. But some type of marking ploy needs to be put together for Kendrick Lamar to drop again. And I don't see that coming anytime soon because if you don't know, we are in the fourth quarter.
Starting point is 00:06:45 Now, the fourth quarter means a lot of people have been saving up to make ginormous purchases. I mean, Christmas, Black Friday, a lot of. of things in the fourth quarter happens to boost the economy so one of the things that it set aside for the big dogs is the fourth quarter because they realize the amount of um disposable wealth people have so they drop so that people is a higher percentage of them buying the album because they just have cash laying around so that's why the fourth quarter is such a big deal in the music industry so kentrick could still drop in november but Does the disappearance of Kendrick as far as now account towards the sales that he's going to have in the future?
Starting point is 00:07:32 Or is everybody going to come back and just say, hey, this is the guy who United L.A., even though he doesn't help anybody else outside of that. This is the guy who united L.A., quote-unquote, and is giving us another offering as far as an album. So, in all actuality, the only reason I'm reporting on this is because everybody is saying that Kendrick is going to drop soon. And my humble opinion is that this man is not coming back for the foreseeable future. I think it would be at least a month or two before he even drops anything. And I know that's a complete, what's the word? It's a complete, I forgot the word. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:08:20 I blanked on it. My mind just blanked out. But it's the opposite of what people have been saying as far as Kendrick dropping soon. So that's the biggest thing I wanted to say as, you know, a lot of people want to compare the goat to Kendrick as far as his impact in hip hop. And if one person drops every so often as far as four to five years and another person is consistently here topping the charts, putting off a hip hop as a whole because they're getting a spanking when it comes to the charts. I mean, talk about hip hop as a whole. we are getting spank when it comes to country pop and things of that nature. So it would be very helpful and beneficial if our big dogs will drop
Starting point is 00:09:04 and actually put on for the genre instead of dropping the track and then going away for quite some time. So, and I know people are saying, well, what if Jay Cole drops? Well, he's still in hip-hop timeout. Just had to remind you all. So hopefully I didn't forget that. But anyways, what that meant say? Click my link, sure in my bio. Let me know one of my social medias.
Starting point is 00:09:23 What do you think about Kendrick Lamar's disappearance from the rap game and everybody championing him like he was going to carry it for the next five to ten years?
