Starting point is 00:00:04 Chapter after chapter, probably remarry and head to Vegas. This is a PG podcast. We're going to take out the expletives. Women getting marked out. They can't erase our history. My woman and my right hand. My saint and my sin. Ain't no woman like my woman,
Starting point is 00:00:28 because that woman being my pen. Now, ladies and gentlemen, that's the last remarks from Kendrick Lamar on his surprise album, GNX. And let me tell you something. If Jordan Lucas put out a track solely on the relationship between him and his pen, he would get completely torn apart. This is Kendrick Lamar. So the perception is a little different. What I would say is this is a very poetic way to end an album, basically complimenting and highlighting the ups and downs of the relationship that you have with an inanimate object.
Starting point is 00:01:18 So ultimately, when we're getting into GNX, Gloria, basically referring to something glorious in Kendrick's life because of of what his pen has done for the revenue aspect of his monetary gains. You come to realize that this track is not only love, but it's also creation, because of course, when you're writing with your pen, you're ultimately creating. But then to have Siza on the chorus, uh, Corius, what is that? have scissors on the course basically talking about Gloria, I want to take you to euphoria. People want, but they ain't strong enough. I heard they talking, we're notorious.
Starting point is 00:02:14 If someone talking to me, if someone talking on me, I see you, you see me. Both see what we want. I see you, you see me. see what we want basically talking about the the harmony of being in touch with yourself and your pen right as a writer i think that could be very relatable to a lot of creatives out there basically whatever the tool is that you use to get your creative vision out there to the masses it's an ultimate track of love and heartbreak as far as the ups and downs when it comes to creating content that people would enjoy for the long for the long haul so it's very poetic and i'm not just saying now i'm actually dead serious kensi glomar is
Starting point is 00:03:16 proving once again that he's the greatest rapper in the modern generation i just love pointing out the hypocrisies when it comes to hip-hop because once again to reiterate If Jordan Lucas was to put out this type of track, basically showcasing his love to his pen in an entire track, people would criticize it and tear this track apart. But of course, because it's Kendrick, people give it a pass. So honestly, in totality, we've went through every single track on GNX. Y'all let me know in 2024, when have I done that for any other body of work? I'm just trying to showcase the amount of respect I have for a lyricist like Kendrick Lamarer. Because talking about heartbreak, talking about self-reflection as far as the man at the garden track,
Starting point is 00:04:12 getting it, okay, so let's start from the top, right? Whacked out murals, basically going at Snoop Dog for, you know, being a flip-flopper and a hypocrite. Squabble up, very ignorant, getting into your violent. aspect of what you could potentially get into as far as a squabling with people you know teach you know how to squabble right luther with scissom basically being a great heartfelt r mb track man at the garden being one of the more introspective tracks that i've heard in 2024 up there with like some of the better tracks when it comes to lyrical content in death i will compare it to when big sean put out his track on up basically rapping at
Starting point is 00:04:55 about his son, right? That's how I view men at the garden, a really pivotal track when it comes to lyricism. Hey Now, featuring Doty 6, which I do believe that Doty being on this album twice, that's the biggest win in this entire body of work. Doty coming off of this project,
Starting point is 00:05:18 similar to how Shabuzzi came off of Beyonce, has a chance to cultivate and captivate the masses through his quality if he capitalizes off of this the right way. Then you have reincarnated. Basically going off of the sample with Tupac and just talking about how the overall Tupac aspect, I forget what I'll say.
Starting point is 00:05:55 Oh yeah, okay, so he was sampling the, I lose it. I think I lost it. Okay, so we was talking about Doty, and then we was talking about, oh yeah, reincarnated. Going off of the Tupac sample,
Starting point is 00:06:12 made, and there's a PG podcast, so we're just going to say made inward, from the gang-related movie soundtrack, basically paying homage to Tupac, and is a very, a very high quality and respectable way,
Starting point is 00:06:30 as far as the way that he wants to be. about this track and honoring Tupac's legacy. And then you have TV off, which was my favorite track of the album, right? Because for the simple fact that the replayability is through the roof, but not only that, I feel like the drop that he gave DJ Mustard
Starting point is 00:06:50 as far as screaming his name towards the end of the track multiple times. I mean, I think that's, I don't know how you use that in future beats as far as the drop. but you got to find some type of way to use that drop from Kendra because that's just a phenomenal drop as far as him powering up screaming mustard like he's literally a dragon ball z character and then you have dodger blue which basically have righty rich on in a lot of other underground LA artists basically talking about how LA ties with the Los Angeles Dodgers and also the color blue I'm not going to get into the real affiliation with the color blue because I'm not Vlad but you know there's something there let's just say that and he's very much touching into his west coast tithing the eighth track on this project dodger blue and of course my second favorite track off of
Starting point is 00:07:45 this album peekaboo i do believe as chike and doty dotty six is um these was one of the more standout features on the album like of course ciza i think had the best feature because she was on this twice as far as Luther and as far as Gloria but with as trike and Doty six I do believe that that was a very phenomenal verse as far as from a featured rapper right so they definitely did a thing on that particular track and Pekaboo just encapsivated the entire bogeyman mantra that Kendrick has continued to embody at the highest level then you have the heart part six
Starting point is 00:08:31 him basically taking back the distract that Drake sent his way and I brought up the proposal that Drake could one up him and take back the 616 in LA discract that Kendrick sent
Starting point is 00:08:47 his way only problem with that is that from a safety aspect let's just say taking back the hard part six is a lot easier than taking about taking back 616 at LA, especially if you're Drake and you already have that target on your back.
Starting point is 00:09:04 Let's just leave it at that. So anyways, Hart Part 6 was a very phenomenal chess move. Then you have GNX and self-titled track after the album, having once again up and coming LA musicians Hitta J3 Pisoa. I don't even know you said that, in Young Threat. Basically all of those rappers being on this particular track, putting words together, at a high clip as far as top tier lyricism and with the line from kendrick basically talking about how my uncle's gone he used to drive the gnx kind of brings it back to the overall sentiment of why the album is titled the way it is because if you don't know it's basically off of a
Starting point is 00:09:47 1987 Buick Grand National and is iconic for symbolizing performance rarity and speed so it's a lot of personal sentiments that Drake was that Kendrick was getting through in this album
Starting point is 00:10:05 especially when it comes to America in general so with that being said then we went into the last track of the album which is titled Gloria and we had of course the one and only scissor gracing the project with her vocals as she being on luther and uh gloria was much needed as she handled the chorus for this particular track as kendrick embodied what the ups and downs were like for him and his relationship with his pen so that being said
Starting point is 00:10:40 those are my overall first impressions of the album b uh no for the album g and x and all seriousness I will say this is a master this is a masterclass on how to put words together and Kendrick is ultimately one of the best at rapping and I'm glad that he used his power in 2024 to not only showcase that he's the best rapper in the modern generation but to also put up-and-coming rappers on from his hometown which is of course is LA so with that being said now that I've wrapped up my first impressions of GNX Click my link tree in my bio. Let me know one of my social medias.
Starting point is 00:11:21 What do you think about the entire first impressions of GNX? What's your particular favorite track? And ultimately, what is your biggest takeaway from Kendrick Lamar's surprise offering with GNX?
