For a person with over 230 cumulative weeks on the charts,
for a person with a top five hit on the billboard charts,
three, top 10, four, top 20, seven, top 40 hits.
For a person to be more specific, who made, give it up to me, let it go,
last night, love, and I remember.
this is just another offering from the iconic Keisha Cole.
Now, if you don't know what I'm talking about, Keisha Cole is attached to a motion picture soundtrack titled The Color Purple.
Now, I know what you're thinking. I've heard that phrase before, right?
Well, technically, it came out in 1985.
So why are you hearing about it in 2023?
Well, there's a new rendition of the film co-produced by Oprah Winfrey and Stephen Spielberg.
I know somebody needs to pick those names up that just drop.
Hey, that's who's producing the movie.
So obviously, there are some heavy hitters and game changers who's backing this film.
So it's a adaptation of not only the 1985 film.
film, but the 1982 novel, with this rendition of the story Color Purple being a musical
starring Fantasia, Burino, Daniela Brooks, Taraji P. Henson, Hallie Bailey, and a plethora of others.
Some of the actual artists I have right here, as right here you see Holly Bailey and then a
and the other one you see taraji p hinson on the right so anyways it's directed by blitz bazaawu
i think he has known like y'all probably wondering what's so special about this director he's
known for directing co-directing biances visual album and his work as a composure and musician so
basically helping out bianci's visual album which i think that one was called
called just Beyonce, if I'm not mistaken.
Oh, no, maybe that was the Lemonade album.
Anyways, he helped out with it.
So if you don't know about the plot,
I'm going to let you look that up for yourself.
Like, look that up for yourself, basically,
if you want to get more into it.
The premise, though, is set in the early 1900s,
and it explores the lifelong struggles of an African-American woman.
So that's all you really need to know.
If you want to know more, definitely.
look it up for yourself they put out a trailer for the color purple six months six months ago
may 22nd 2023 and basically this movie is set to be released december 25th 2023 so pretty soon
this movie is going to come out Oprah Winfrey has described her role as a full circle moment as
far as this right here and saying that trying to find it.
Oh, here it is right here.
I already had that up.
I don't know why I took that off.
Anyways, I'm just going to put the Keisha Code track back up and saying that it emphasizes the
power of the story color purple.
Hensian, Henson, oh, Taraji mentioned that the film is a combination of the novel, Broadway
musical in Spielberg's previous film focusing on joy rather than trauma that is a very interesting
statement because everybody knows at this point in time i'm not saying we're completely done with slave
movies but it's only so many times white people can tell us we played the role of a slave so well
there's only so many times before we be like you know what that's racist you know what
mean like dang jamey fox did great into jingo dain it anyways um that's all i really have for the
film i just wanted to touch on keesha cole's track for the motion picture because obviously at the
beginning of the segment i let you know why because keesha co is just so multi-faceted and so talented
as a musician that not putting a spotlight on this upcoming release would just be a crime
in my coverage of hip hop and R&B.
So I had to cover this and definitely tell you
that this film is coming out December 25th, 2023.
So with that being said, click my link to my bio.
Let me know in one of my social medias.
What do you think about the movie, the color purple?
The first one, they came out in 1985.
And what do you think about this upcoming rendition?
And who do you think would be the standout performance
in this what's going to be undoubtedly a spectacular movie?
Thank you.
