Boy, you already know, Anderson Pack is somewhere punching the air right now.
Nah, I'm just joking.
But all jokes aside, Anderson Pack is probably happy for Bruno Mars
and just hopes this song does tremendous numbers on the charts
and hopefully mimics the same type of impact that he had with Anderson Pack.
Because I'm not going to lie to you.
If this leads to a collab album, I'm not going to say I'd be disappointed.
All I'm going to say is, it's been three years since one of the best albums came out,
since one of the best albums of the past five years came out.
What am I talking about?
Of course, Silk Sonic, which if you don't know, which you should.
But if you don't know, it became Bruno Mars's fourth and Anderson Pax second.
Top 10 album as far as the Billboard 200 is considered.
So obviously it was successful selling around 104,000 first week units.
So besides that part, because streams don't always equivalent or streams don't always mean something
that's high quality.
It just means that it's an objective scale for how many people are engaging with your current music.
I wanted to get into the quality.
Now that is a whole different discussion.
Silk Sonic is one of the best albums.
I've ever heard from start to finish.
And as far as the artistry on display,
as far as leave the door open and what was the other track?
Put on a Smile.
I think put on a smile is one of my favorite tracks of all time.
So the amount of praise I have for the likes of a Bruno Morris
and for the likes of an Anderson Pack,
who are real musicians playing actual instruments as they perform.
It's a little different.
You know, there's a lot of learning curves you have to go through to even get to that level of playing instruments while you're singing at such a high level, you know?
So enough of the glaze.
Let's just get into the objective facts, right?
You know what I mean?
Because it's not glazing if it's facts, right?
Anyways.
So leave the door open, reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100, making it Bruno Morris as fastest song to ever reach number one, ever.
Like Bruno Marius.
We're talking about a man that been.
putting out music since 2010.
It was as fastest song ever as far as Leave the Door Open to reach number one.
Marking, well, also getting another Grammy was Bruno Mars with his, I think it was his album.
Was there a song or album?
No, it was song.
Okay, so Leave the Door Open also won multiple Grammy Awards, including Record of the Year.
think about a record of the year
song of the year
best R&B performance
and best R&B song at the
64th Grammy Awards like when I tell you
all this album is a
masterpiece like
as an artist
to listen
to somebody else
make music and then you think
that your style will compliment
them and then you get into that studio
and then it just is
10 times better than you even imagine
Imagine because sometimes I hear this all the time with certain artists.
They'd be like, yeah, I'm going to get in the studio with so-and-so.
It's funny to be fired.
Come out to studio and they'd be like, man, it wasn't where I thought it was going to be.
That man don't even be on time.
He laid all the time.
He don't even put effort into it.
He gave one or two takes.
They'd be horrible, but he still keeps it.
Like, you know, they'd be having all type of horror stories about collaborating with people.
So for Anderson Pack and for Bruno Morris to come out with such a legendary,
iconic body of work
title Silk Sonic
I mean it was just wonderful to the years
I am not going to lie to you
All right so anyways
The reason why I'm bringing this all up is because of this track with Lady Gaga
I think if this particular track
Die What a Smile does well
We could assume
That a collab album may be in the mist
Because with this duet between Lady Gaga and Bruno
Morris is basically
A 70s pop influence
reminiscent of the earlier
the earlier hit
shallow if you
was if you was around that time
shout out to my old people if you listen to a
shout out to you I mean keep
keep on kicking but not
yeah
all right so uh the collaboration
uh they say
oh they say it was a one off project
oh that's tough
uh they say initiated late at night
and
No, no
Did I read that?
Nah, I don't say that.
Initiated late at night in Bruno Mars' studio.
Man, what type of wizardry
Bruno Mars got going on?
Let me tell you something.
Actually, this is a PG podcast,
so I'm not going to tell you something.
But let me just say that y'all can probably fill in the blanks.
That man Bruno Mars knows what he was doing.
Yeah, a one-off project.
gosh yeah yeah you definitely a one-off project huh so anyways um the overall track was um
pretty solid i think what i would say when it comes in regards to the whole video having like a
laid back late night aesthetic you know saying the 70s inspired tv studio um
i would say that i am ready for silk sonic two every time bruno mars puts out music that's
what i'm gonna say is this leading up to silk sonic two
It's one of the bad things about being the artist that puts out a classic body of work is that we just want something that just sounds similar to it.
Even if it's not at the same level, because they probably don't want to touch that album because they won like to win song of the year, record of the year, best R&B performance, best R&B song in the same Grammy Award show is unheard of.
Like usually they try to spread it out like goodness man, you want everything, you know, from one album.
it's a little hard to top um so i don't think they're gonna try to top it but when you hear stuff
like this with lady gaga still shows you that he can get into that bag of just a straight hit
as far as uh sonically and i would just rather him do it with anderson pack like just create
the r&b version of outcast like literally that's what i thought they was doing but i guess not man
i guess not anderson pack out here lord knows what he doing like but uh but uh
you know Bruno Mars is just taking huge hiatus is like this man's the R&B version of Kendrick you know so
Anyways um what else so this track is going to be pushed by lady Gaga's
upcoming movie Joker I forgot she was an upcoming movie
Set to premiere in September hi. It's all making sense now see how we connect the dots you let to see it
but um
with that she's also been teasing her next album lady god got seven but no release date has been announced
my predictions putting on my analytical hat is that the album will probably come out one to two
months after the movie that's what i could probably i probably predict that it will come out a month
or two after the movie just to capitalize off of the hype but who knows maybe she'll just
switch into it being the soundtrack well no because joker's already said to be like a music
cool so yeah i don't know but anyways um as far as that and as far as lady gaga and bruno
mars coming to collaborate with this track titled die with a smile out now all dsps click my
link to your in my bio let me know one of my social medias what do you think about this specific
track and also at the end of the day would you want to see another project from bruno mars and
Anderson Pack.
