Time to get into the album that everybody has been waiting for.
And by everybody, of course, I mean P from QC, because let me tell you something, ladies and gentlemen.
As far as the output from the one and only little baby, we have to start breaking down his entire discography because what in the world has happened to the public perception when it comes to his.
overall music output because ultimately little baby is one of the most successful rappers in the
past five years but of course when he had harder than ever that sold 71,000 first week then he
followed that up with my turn that sold 197 thousand first week then he had it's only me that had
216,000 first week.
Those type of numbers are on the upward trajectory to be one of the top dogs in hip hop.
Now, of course, when it comes to the original body of work as far as Wham, which for those who don't know, it's basically an acronym for who's harder.
Who's hard as me?
I think that's what's.
Who's hard as me?
Pause.
But no, I think it's something like that.
I forget what the acronym is because it's pretty bad.
Not going to lie to you, he should let Little Dirk give him the hero and just stick with it.
Right.
But Little Baby is out here with all type of acronyms like that's supposed to stick more than the hero that Little Dirk gave him as far as the nickname.
But anyways, so as far as Little Baby and Wham, there's not a lot to get into.
I'm not going to hold you.
because if I want to
I want to be fair
but then I also want to let you know
personally how I feel about Little Baby
so first on the fair objective side of things
Wham has sold
$130,000 first week
now already went over
the other numbers as far as
his previous projects
because if you don't know
Little Baby currently has
his first album that came out
2017 so it has one
two three four five six
seven, eight, nine, ten.
So technically this is his 11th album.
Now only had the first week's sale starting from harder than ever, which technically, if you look at it, back in 2016,
2018 is when the turn happened as far as putting little baby on the hierarchy of the drakes, of the Kendrix,
for the simple fact that he was putting up the numbers and also the lyrical performance as far as in the hip-hop.
atmosphere because if you listen to it when you look at once in needs by drake and little baby
that especially proceed or coming in the aftermath of his hot streak let people know that not
only can he stand toe to toe with drake but he could also outwrap him on his own track once
and needs is a pivotal moment in little baby's career another pivotal moment the bigger picture
This man turned into prime 2024 Kendrick on the bigger picture as far as giving the black community an anthem during the Black Lives Matter movement because of course we all thought Kendrick was going to give it to us.
But ultimately the plot twist of the century, it was little baby.
But guess what he did shortly after putting out the bigger picture.
Basically it was too much for him.
He came out and said, you know what?
that's not me at the end of the day i am a street rapper and that's going to be the last time
y'all hear me rap on some conscious type beat as far as consciously being a conscious rapper
that's the last time y'all going to hear me so he went back to his old flows and the patented
flows that he's made so much money off of right but he fell into the little wayne effect very
early earlier than little wayne did because honestly i don't think little baby's giving us something
that he wasn't successful with when he first came into the game but now that it's been done for the
millionth time people are unequivocally finished and they are perturbed every single time he uses
that flow so now it's over right they're telling him to switch it up he doesn't want to switch it up
to the point where now he's doing the same patent and flow and his excuse is,
hey,
I'm not trying to get locked up so I can't rap about what I used to rap about.
So that tells me all I need to know about him and his trajectory because now he's saying
that because of him not wanting to get locked up is why his music is trash.
If that's not the worst excuse in the book,
then I don't know what is, right?
You can rap about things outside of breaking the law and they'd be fired.
But obviously, Little Baby still hasn't found out a way to do that as I listened to this entire Wham album to bring it back full circle.
And I listened to the extended edition and left very overwhelmed.
I wasn't underwhelmed.
I wasn't overwhelmed.
It wasn't bad music.
It wasn't great music.
It was just mediocre tunes from Little Baby, who we thought was going to come with his gun-al-like album as far as proving the critics wrong.
and giving us not a classic but just a top two a top three album and a discography because
being on your 11th album when initially you started off with 12 000 first week sales as far as with
his album too hard that came out 2017 following that up with your most successful project
objectively speaking as far as it's only me that had 216,000 that had 216,000.
1st week sales.
Y'all want to know the tracks that was on,
It's Only Me?
Basically, what was the track?
I think it was...
Oh, actually, that's not the album.
But It's Only Me was the most successful album
First Week sales as far as objectively speaking.
But technically, I do believe that my turn
is his best album.
And that sold $179,000 first week.
Now, the reason why I'm getting to analytical points
is because when it comes to objectively speaking...
When it comes to subjectively speaking,
speaking on a quality aspect.
I'm not, I don't have too much to say.
I don't have the highest appraises for little baby.
But I would like to see him be successful.
So I'm going to focus on the objective facts because I don't want to come across as
somebody who only wants to tear down little baby as far as what he's putting out to the masses.
So what I will say is he, him having 130,000 first week sales is a W,
no matter how you want to slice it.
So recognizing the fact that.
it's only me had 216,000 first week, but then you follow up project Wham that just came out had
130,000 first week. I think that discreference is showcasing how much people are tired of the same
patented flow. And with that, you will have to fix it. But currently, you do have one of the most
successful albums in the world as the album came out and was the 34th.
most played album in the world and then of course when it came to the tracks it's projected that
dumb dumb and dumber who would think right the song with yuntuck his first feature since being out of
prison and future is going to be the most successful track out of his album being the 17th most
played track in the world that's what the projection is for our billboard uh january 18th is considered
right and then of course the only other track the chart in the top
right now as far as projections is going to be the track he has with Travis Scott title stuff
I'm surprised not to see it was a track it was it was a standout track to me I don't know
I just like 21 Savage as a feature um yeah outfit I'm surprised not to see a outfit with 21
savage charting but like I said these are the projections stuff with Travis Scott and
the track
dumb, dumb, and dumber with Young Thug and Future seem to be the most played off of his album currently.
That could change, but that's what the projections are showing.
Also, as far as Little Baby and his trajectory, him going on tour needs to be the focus for his next two years
and cultivate a body of work that's different but still in the lane of quality.
Because I've given advice for Little Baby, basically saying that,
the production is where you're messing up at.
I think your voice is so overpowering that no matter how many different type of
flows you want to use, which is not a lot of them.
So let's not act like he's the lyricists.
But no matter how many different flows he wants to use, he still has to have great
production.
If every beat sounds like a rendition of drip too hard or a rendition of freestyle, like it's
only so many times people are going to put up with that.
And as you've seen with the drop off from 216,000 first week to 130,000 first week,
you see the drop off in the discrepancy between your last album and this album as far as consumption in the first week.
So I would change up to production to the point where you may have to do a collab album with Metro.
I think that would be perfect.
I don't know if Metro would do one with you.
But I think that would be phenomenal.
Getting a producer that could bring the best out of you, I think is the best option for you going forward.
So yeah, that's basically it.
