Starting point is 00:00:00 Of course, I'm the one left out on the hill, the lone wolf, and having to cover Dave, aka Little Dickie. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I am the only one out here that's giving coverage on this album and on this particular artist. So leave it up to me to touch on Little Dickie to give y'all the information that y'all need when it comes to the Little Dickie. Anyways, Little Dicky has released a new album titled Peneth. Yes, you heard me correctly. The album title is literally P-Neth. And it's 22 tracks, of course. Soundtracks I don't really get too excited for,
Starting point is 00:00:44 but because it's Dave, aka Little Dicky, I feel like the actual body of work is more important than it being a soundtrack. Because if you don't know, the last time we even got an album from this man was 2015. I mean, talk about putting it. and Kendrick Lamar, the shame. But anyways, so obviously, all of these tracks are over the span of what, almost a decade. So with that being said, you would think he hasn't been putting out music, but of course he
Starting point is 00:01:11 has as one of the biggest tracks that he had, no, the biggest track that he's accomplished and created in his career is, of course, Freaky Friday with the one and only Chris Breezy. So that is a type of track that will probably describe little bit. Dicky to you if you ever or if you've never listened to his music. It's more of a conceptual comedic take on rap. So when he's white, because I don't know if I've said that yet, and the privilege starts to set him, you realize that he may or may not be making a mockery of hip hop, but as a fan of Little Dickie, I could probably pause. I would probably say the biggest reason I would say he's not making fun of it is because he actually cares about the lyrics that he's putting forth
Starting point is 00:01:57 and I would say this particular body of work, yes, I listened to it. I wasn't joking while I say I was anticipating it. I would say it's more of like if a battle rapper was trying to make music. That's the type of lyricism, high-level lyricism that he displays. And on the flip side, that means that I didn't really find it as replayable as certain Little Dicky tracks. Like Freaky Friday is one of those where you could, I think I heard that. Like, you can play that in any scenario. Let's just leave it like that, right?
Starting point is 00:02:31 So anyways, particularly talking about the album. I want to kind of just get through the facts because I'm going to cover specific tracks when it comes to this project. But the biggest thing is to let y'all know that I actually enjoyed it. It's a solid body of work. You have to go into it thinking that it's a soundtrack because if you don't, you're going to be wondering why some things are so conceptually crafted. if that makes sense.
Starting point is 00:02:58 Like Ali's song, Mr. McAdams, Harrison Ave, just to name a few. That was another one. So many conceptual tracks on here in jail. You probably won't understand it if you haven't watched the show,
Starting point is 00:03:13 especially Hearsay is the more organic hip-hop track, I think, on this album. But as far as how he's going about his flows, the patterns he's using is a little unorthodox to the point. It will probably throw you off a little bit, but always keep in mind that it's from Dave, the TV show, which, if you don't know, Dave is basically completed as third season,
Starting point is 00:03:39 having notable guests like Brad Pitt and Drake, out of all people. Yes, I know the goat is everywhere, but nobody wants to give him the credit. Imagine, see, now I've got to go on the side attention. Remember how I said Drake's the goat? I mean, you make... single attempt to be in that particular artist strong suit like with Dave little dicky creatively he's that he's better than his peers right so he has his own TV show that he he formulates and for Drake to collab with little
Starting point is 00:04:13 Dickey technically on the TV show and then with the Jack Harlow everybody considers him more of a lyrical miracle type rapper not in the bad sense just Like, his lyrical status is better than his peers. Drake gives a lemon pepper type freestyle track to Jack Harlow to wrap along with him, basically jumping into his what we thought was his strong suit until he got completely murdered. I forget what the actual track was called. But for Jack Hollow's sake, hopefully the public forgot to. And then you hop into 21 Savage Lane, where he's basically giving a whole lot of
Starting point is 00:04:48 murderous, take him off the earth type. energy in the entire track. Then you watch him make a song with Dave. Basically, all right, Drake's the goat, right? I don't have to give y'all any more examples. I'm just letting you all know that Drake's the goat for a reason. And specifically because he embodies what whatever artist he's about to collab with, better, their best asset, and that's what he attacks.
Starting point is 00:05:15 So for Lil Dickie, of course, it was a show because whoever put out one album and they had a whole TV show. I mean, I know you'll probably say, child is Gambino, well, aka Donald Glover. I think he was a couple projects in before he got his show. Maybe I'm not, you know, maybe I'm incorrect. But I'm just saying that what everybody else is taking, you know, complexion, you know, has some very interesting benefits. Let's just leave it at that.
Starting point is 00:05:43 Jack Harlow was just in a movie titled White Man Can't Jump. And, I mean, would you cast a Black man as a white man can't jump? jump i mean come on now food for thought so anyways uh with that being said i've never heard of rappers transitioning so quickly from music to tv and movies like i did like i've seen from little dicky first and then jack harlowe that's what's that's the album is out now um 22 tracks about one hour and six minutes long it's under his dirty bird corporation under exclusive license to commission music slash BMG rights management. I don't know who they are.
Starting point is 00:06:26 So not going to lie. I'm thinking that this is more of an own-your-masters type deal because I don't recognize that major label at all. Not to discredit them, just saying that I feel like Little Dickie probably has a lot of his master's when it comes to this music. And with that, I'm not saying he's independent. I'm just saying as far as the deal he negotiated with the major label,
Starting point is 00:06:49 that's probably the one that was. was more willing to give him his masters and just help him out with distribution because it says it's under exclusive license so anyways only thing else you need to know is that i enjoyed the soundtrack if you go into it thinking this album you may be disappointed but if you're going to it thinking it's the soundtrack from the hit show dave and yes it's a hit show on um i think it's hulu i think it's on on Hulu. I forget what it's on. But anyways, it's a pretty fire show. Dave is pretty funny as a show and as a person. Yeah. So anyways, click my link tree in my bio. Let me know one of my social media is, what do you think about Dave, aka Little Dickie? And also at the end
Starting point is 00:07:31 of the day, how do you feel about it and my coverage of Little Dickie?
