Starting point is 00:00:03 Little Techa is shaping up to have a phenomenal outing with his latest album, Dopamine, that's out now in all DSPs. Now, if you don't know, of course, he's under Galactic Records slash Republic Records, distributed by UMG. And the main thing I wanted to get at as far as letting you know that he's under UMG is that UMG currently has a whopping 60% as far as the entire music market share. Sony has 20 Warner has 14 others which is small subsidiary well not subsidiary smaller smaller labels and independent acts they have 6% so if UMG already has 60% and little tech is shaping up to have a phenomenal objectively speaking he's setting up to have a phenomenal outing with dopamine as far as his first week sales because if you don't know he just released a track not too long ago which I
Starting point is 00:00:56 also covered titled OA OA and that specific track is set to be, well, no, not set to be, it is, it is currently the 50th most play track in the world. And then you have dark thoughts, which is the 53rd most played track in the world. But the thing, what that is, that track has been on the charts for about 12 weeks. So that's already a hit as far as a totality standpoint in the year of 2025. So now you're looking at from an objective scale. He already covered the basis with that. You know, he seemingly is going to have a great outing as far as people listening to this project. Then we get to the quality side of things.
Starting point is 00:01:34 When I tell you all that I've already been giving Lil tech a lot of high praise especially I've been covering little techas since what 2023 when I first covered his need me because of course with the podcast actually starting in 2020 and then the different rendition of the podcast starting in 2023 as far as a 10 year under red circle. I out the gate wanted to cover little teka because that's one of the artists and wanted to focus on especially in the hip-hop field because I believe when it comes to melodies when it comes to sonically speaking little teka is one of the greater artists I've listened to as far as being
Starting point is 00:02:11 able to put and string along melodies throughout over a beat right but sometimes that doesn't always translate into great tracks if you can make melodies it does not automatically mean you can make a a great song melodies is a central part of a great song but it's not the only part so the reason why i say that is because when i was talking about dark thoughts while i was talking about oa oa they both had specific samples right um dark thoughts had a popular sample um oha oa had a popular sample and i see if i could i believe dark thoughts was like a ferreo type beat but it was uh even before that it was actually it was actually like somebody else made the beat before that but um i said it before in my cover so you just got to go to my oha oa and my
Starting point is 00:03:02 dark thoughts cover specifically to get me talking about the samples because i broke it down in depth this is more talking about his album obviously letting y'all know that my overall thoughts before the album was saying that using these popular albums and i compared it to when jack harlowe was using samples throughout his beat whether it was first class whether it was other tracks that he ultimately went number one with and started to gain more of a anticipation for its album i was basically highlighting that just because you have an album just because you have a single with a sample playing over and over again throughout the beat does not mean the rest of the album's going to be phenomenal because let's just say in the hip-hop industry it's hard to clear certain popular samples and that's
Starting point is 00:03:47 and the reason for that is because when people hear those popular samples now the percentage is higher as far as you liking the track. So when it comes to the rest of Lil Teca's album, Dopamine, I basically posed the question, what would his album sound like without the popular samples that was present throughout Dark Thoughts, which was the first single for this album, and of course, Oa Oa, which was the second single for this album.
Starting point is 00:04:10 And let me tell you, the rest of his album is Beyond Fire. Like, I like how he's structured having Dark Thoughts and OAOA at the beginning to basically get those out of the way so you could just listen to new tracks consecutively without having the older tracks throughout. But when you get to have the plot and then the rest of the album, this is 17 tracks long. Basically, I just want to let y'all know that Little Teca definitely delivered. And the reason why I believe he delivered is because not only is he able to make melodies,
Starting point is 00:04:47 but he also showcased throughout the entire album that he's able to make concise songs. that's also catchy as far as the verse is being considered, the bridges, the hooks. And then, of course, already being amazing, just fantastic at creating melodies and melodic sounds. Combining all of that, this is a very solid album. So I've already listened to it. It's 17 songs, 41 minutes, and length. So it's not the longest track, not the longest album, but it's very concise as far as people putting 35 tracks on their album for streaming reasons, right?
Starting point is 00:05:22 right obviously little teka doesn't have to do that currently because he's doing phenomenal especially with the dark thoughts success especially with oho oa both of those tracks are seemingly going to be a hit and then we don't know what type of track off of this current track list is going to end up being the third hit so quality wise i think he delivered objectively speaking he has definitely delivered with oa oa being the second single from this album being the 50th most played track in the world and then you have dark thoughts being the 53rd most play track in the world but the thing with dark thoughts is that's been out for 12 weeks so it's been holding that slot for quite some time and it even peaked at 28 in this earlier of the 12 week uh run so
Starting point is 00:06:04 with that being said click my link tree in my bio we will be getting to another track in this particular album but for this overview of the album click my link tree in my bio let me know in one of my social media is what do you think about little tech's latest album dopamine and if you've listened to it entirely what is your favorite track
