Man, shout out to the Twitter community, because I swear, if it wasn't for certain media accounts pushing narratives or not even narratives, but just letting us know certain information, I think hip hop wouldn't be where it is today.
Because one of the things that obviously the mainstream artists despise, but is definitely an integral part in the evolution of hip hop is community discourse.
So it's whenever somebody who has a certain platform and obviously is an influencer to some extent puts out information that the public wasn't aware to to bring the overall brand of hip hop up.
So what do I mean by that?
There's this Twitter account, I think is Kamar for real.
I don't even not say that.
It's KM-A-F-R underscore.
But basically, the Twitter account put out a snippet of Little Uzi-U-Z-S.
rapping over Kendrick Lamar's Rigamortis beat and let's just say he sounds like a familiar
rapper that's just been the most not been is the most influential hip-hop artist ever
like in the history of hip-hop and that of course is little wayne so with the fact that little
Uzi Verk literally sounds like Little Wayne when he's not using Autotune is a very interesting point
because of course Little Wayne uses Autotune when he raps but it's just Uzi's style without
Autotune that mimics and kind of gives you sonically a parody of Little Wayne.
I'm not saying he raps like Little Wayne lyrically, but
But as far as sonically, he sounds like Little Wayne.
So that just brought me back into a rabbit hole of just a bunch of people who's, who have
compared Little Uzzivert to Little Wayne from the likes of Nicky Minage, ASAP, Fat Joe,
and yes, Fat Joe at all people was one of the first, I believe, to coin the phrase a bad version
of little way when talking about little uzi verse uh comparison as far as uh vocal uh as far as audio wise to
little wayne when rapping because they have unique styles at this point like little uzi has his
unique sound little wayne has his unique sound but without the auto tune without the melodic over
the top use of auto tune he sounds like little way so lyrically he doesn't so that's why he said
version of little way because even though you sound like someone doesn't mean that you replicate the
same level of lyrical mastery as the goat who is way so with that being said of course little
oozy got past that and you know it's controversial i guess but of course they he they just you know
expressed you know liking to one another so they just got past that you know fat joe never
it's going to get really too much disrespect which he shouldn't in the hip-hop
game and then also Nikki the queen herself in music has said numerous times that little uzi vert
reminded her of her mentor little way during filming their music video for the remix of uzi's track the
way life goes uh Nikki minage expressed again that he resembled little wayne saying quote
he just reminds me so much of tunci which is the way so every time i see him
him, I'm always like, all my little baby because he just gives me the little tunchy vibe.
And because of that, I love him.
And I love this expeditive song.
It's a PG podcast.
Shout out to our fans and all of that.
We're about to give you a killer video.
And then Nikki also said that obviously they have distilled.
think styles, but she's just talking about certain parallels as far as the audio is concerned.
And then ASAP, you know, anytime I get into an ASAP quote, I feel like Dave Chappelle,
when he said, what is Jarl rule thinking of time like this? But nevertheless,
Asap Rocky has once compared Little Uzzi Vert to Wayne's RaspiDil, and he praised Little
Uzi verse style and approach which also talked about the vocal tone which is you know
sonics and then uh drawing parallels to uh wayne so yeah overall i just want to say i think there's a
reason why somebody who could sound like little wayne doesn't try to sound like with little wayne
because if you can't match it lyrically then you're just going to get into the fat joe take where
he coined him as a bad version of Little Wayne.
So the way that Uzi went in a more dumbed down, lyrically version,
higher autotune version as far as focusing on the melodies,
I think has lending himself to have tracks like the way life goes.
I just want to rock, like stuff that's obviously not lyrically inclined.
But sonically and melody-wise, it's superior to most other musicians.
So I think that's a great just overview and self-reflection and realizing that you need to attack this music thing differently.
Because if people are going to think that you're trying to do a bad impression of Little Wayne, it's just never going to work in the music industry.
So with that being said, Uzi obviously figured it out, created his own lane, and now forever his legacy is cemented in its own.
because if you think about it if you wanted to name the most premier act out of Philly
right now it used to be you know once upon the time it was meek Millie but now it is obviously
little Uzi Ver and you know his plethora of tracks that he's put out um like like I was you
know mentioning just want to rock um way life goes ex-hotory life all of those are melody you know
auto tune heavy
lyrically dumbed down
tracks which has
encaptivated the masses so
he goes at that approach
specifically for a reason
and this is why I think that reason is
because if he didn't if he actually tried to rap
people would say he sounded like a bad version
or people would say he sounded like a bad version
of Wayne
but something else I was wanting into
I think it's basically it though
um oh yeah kendrick teased something he says something and hold on let me pull it up because
i know y'all going to be like well that that's uh informative kendricks says something right you
i mean and he stopped the presses but now uh kendricks actually came out and said something if i can
find it i don't even know if it's uh kendrick he came out because anytime big shan comes out
with the like announcement you know of course
Kendrick's gonna come out with something
if y'all don't know they have a little you know underlying beef
it's almost like Jay Z and Nas but people don't give it that type of credit
ah here we go all right so Kendrick Lamar via IG shout out to
rap TV for helping me find this because uh it was uh
it was alluding me for a second I don't know how we turn into the
Kendrick segment but anyways Kendrick said I'm not reading all that
all he said was a bunch of cryptic stuff
to basically let you know that he may or may not be putting out music this year.
But if we get Big Sean Kendrick and Jay Cole in 2024,
this may be the greatest year in hip hop since like,
make sure when this came out.
When did Utopia come out?
Not Utopia.
I'm tripping.
When did Astero world come out?
Asteroil came out 2018.
Yeah, this may be the greatest.
year in hip hop since 2018 because the more and more i go back and look at my top fives as far as the
year which you know shameless plug uh analytic well no just my link tree and just go to the bottom
what i listen to is like a whole link and then it has like i literally archives stuff i listen to like
you know it's not just it's not just a game you know i'm saying i listen to music for real well hip hop
so anyways i went back through my like top five top 10 and i was like which was the best year like
what really stood out and i'm not going to lie to you you
2018 was something else.
I mean, I imagine we got Carter 5
AstroWorld Scorpion Championships by Meek Mill,
which to this day, I still think it's his best album.
Like, I don't even think he came close to that,
like in his whole career, you know what I mean?
So anyways, the Kanye and Kid Cuddy album,
shout out to my Jermaine fans out there.
you know he put out that dumpster fire but you know hey they they always gonna uh defend that kod album
you know germane fans you know it's just like a it's like a mental illness but anyways um
uh 2018 let me see then we have oh then coaches too came out like like 2018 for hip hop i ain't gonna lie
it was it was really one of the better years i could uh i can remember yeah let's see i don't know
how we got off on a tangent like that but anyways
Um, yeah, so hip hop is already better than the 2023.
Like that's how bad 2023 was.
Like three months in, it's already way better.
I mean, we've got Kanye Votcher's, which is one of the best albums of this year.
And seemingly we're going to get more projects from them.
Who else?
Jay Cole's definitely dropping.
Who else?
Big Sean's dropping.
Kendrick may be dropping.
I mean, he put out a cryptic tweet, but we never know what that means.
He could be, you know, just be promoting his next Ghana line or something like that.
You know, his soccer line.
being Ghana for some reason.
But, um,
somebody else.
I'm blinking.
I'm blinking on, uh,
I mean,
Cardi B is coming,
you know.
Um,
I mean,
that's basically a big Sean,
Kendrick,
I mean,
Big Sean and,
uh,
Kanye in one year.
I'm not going to,
that's all I need.
I mean,
after last year,
I'm like,
just somebody drop,
please.
One of the,
one of the big dogs drop in hip hop,
because Drake can only carry this
game for so long i mean goodness this man like lebron james in the NBA the way he carrying the face of this
whole genre but um anyways so yeah big Sean's about to drop j cole's definitely dropping Kanye's dropping
and already drop and hopefully Kendrick drops with this uh cryptic tweet but um i just wanted to talk
about that little little uzi segment because i know a lot of people have been wondering why
uzi doesn't just straight rap and hopefully this gives a little bit more clarity um
to why little uzi doesn't try to seriously rap because then people would just call him a bad version
of little wayne so anyways click my link to your in my bio let me know one of my social medias
what do you think about little uzi vert rapping without heavy auto tune and also do you think
little uzi verse career would it still pan out the way it is today if he was to take the more lyrical
approach
