Starting point is 00:00:00 Two of my favorite artists of all time have joined forces to give us what they call, quote, the secret recipe. Now, ladies and gentlemen, you can't make this up. Lodi Yati, as if you are avid listener of the podcast, I think he is the best sonically I've ever heard, right? and I feel like J-Cole when it comes to rapping has always been a top three artists at the very least simply because of his hard-hitting bars the way he delivers his masterful verse and the way that Yaddy just gives us music that feels and sonically sounds like a psychedelic feel I just can't explain, right? And two of these rappers
Starting point is 00:01:04 who are my favorite being on the same track, it's like a match made in heaven. Like, honestly, if I was to have an all-time dream collab, it would be Little Yadi
Starting point is 00:01:24 and Jermaine Cole. Why? Because of the rapping ability, of course. Now let me tell y'all something. The joke should write itself. That's the first. Second, Yaddy and Jermaine over this beat should be a federal offense.
Starting point is 00:01:56 Literally, I think they should go to jail for making this track. Third, I'm going to focus most on Jermaine simply because some of the things that he said being just a blatant, flat-out lie. Lo Yadi, on the other hand, I'm not going to spend too much time with him because I don't want people thinking I hate Lo Yadi. Like as a personality, I feel like he's great. Business mind, business acumen, if that's how you say it, he's one of the best from his peer group, which is not saying a lot.
Starting point is 00:02:31 I know being in a peer group of Kodak and Uzi, but hey, he has that title, right? But when it comes to music, in the making of music, if you've listened to the podcast for a while, he would definitely know. I believe Yadi is easily some of the worst audio entertainment I've heard in my life. With that being said, we're going to primarily focus on Jermaine Cole because some of the lies he said during his verse, and we're going to spend a significant amount of time on this. One of the lies that he said on his verse is just so outlandish. That just has to be pointed out. It's not like I care, of course. At the end of day, this is a podcast.
Starting point is 00:03:20 This is entertainment. So take that with a grain of salt. But my feelings are very true to form of how I feel off stream or off platform, if that makes sense. Basically, in my personal life, I have the same rhetoric towards Jermaine. To the point where I had to pull up one of my favorite all-time videos because something he says during his verse just made me think of this video because. this is an all-time classic.
Starting point is 00:03:52 This is like when Michael Jordan won his sixth championship looked around as far as the field and saw his peers, quote-unquote, was no longer in discussion when it comes to his greatness, right? So Drake,
Starting point is 00:04:19 who I'm comparing him to Michael Jordan, when it comes to that, right, you look around, you see your peers are no longer in the same discussion as you because you didn't surpass them, lapped them, whatever you want to say. You start to say things like this. And shameless plug to my analytic dreams video podcast on Spotify to see the video version along with the audio because I'm about to play a video that I believe is one of the greatest, one of the single greatest. hip-hop clips of all time. And I'll tell you why, after. I gotta say this just because, you know, I don't always want to have a heartfelt moment
Starting point is 00:05:02 when we're on stage together and shit, but you know, you did that pipe down freestyle the other day, right? Right? And you were saying that in the freestyle about, you know, they handed you to bronze and whatever, whatever, me and Kendra. I just want you to understand something.
Starting point is 00:05:16 I had a pause right there. Bro, saying you want the bras and then whatever, whatever, like, I don't think y'all understand how hilarious. as Drake is in this clip. He's like, yeah, whatever you was, whatever you were trying to say. Like, it was just irrelevant, right?
Starting point is 00:05:31 He just had to get this point out because of the reality of the situation. So anyways, I'm gonna let this clip finish. Sorry, I just had to add that because the whatever, whatever, Drake's a slick guy. Like, he's one of the guys in the game that's very meticulous about what he says and what he does.
Starting point is 00:05:50 So you have to pay attention to slight stuff like this. And you was saying in the freestyle about, you know, they handed you to bronze and whatever whatever me and Kendra i just want you to understand something you are genuinely without a doubt one of the greatest rappers to ever touch a life time and i want to let you know it's and i want to let you know to ever touch a hour genuinely without a doubt you to understand something you are genuinely without a doubt one of the greatest rappers that ever touched him
Starting point is 00:06:32 like me now what he was referring to is when Jermaine was releasing his NightQuil Raps right back in the past he was releasing some NyQuil style freestyles that if you listen to it one time you fall asleep stuff like that
Starting point is 00:06:52 but anyways during the verse he basically said how everybody always has Drake and Kendrick I guess I'll slide in third like third base or something like that basically hand me the bra and so I'm sliding third like he was owning it like he was proud to be number three
Starting point is 00:07:10 I just want y'all to think about the history of hip hop right biggie Tupac Jay Z, Naz Kanye West 50 Eminem who did Eminem go against I forget who he went against basically hip hop is a contact sport that's like if
Starting point is 00:07:33 Nas came out back in the day. But not even Nas. Let's not use Nas. Who else was? That's like a 50, well, 50 dead beef. Yeah, this is exactly. Yeah, okay. So this is like a 50 cent back in the day was just like, hey, I know Jay-Z is just great in music and business.
Starting point is 00:07:57 And I'm just nowhere near him. So I'm just so glad that y'all just put me in the conversation. Like, imagine if 50 cents said that about Jay-Z. fast forward modern day right germane literally said on a freestyle i forget we i didn't even feel i should probably looked that up because that was hold up that was pretty bad j cole third place free uh third place verse like literally it's just it's just so bad bronze middle let me see uh j cole the rapper they don't even know who i'm talking about this man that's crazy
Starting point is 00:08:39 crazy all right so basically while i was getting that right and in the freestyle where he said he was third place i don't think i could find this man so irrelevant oh the pipe down freestyle he literally said i'm tripping all right so the j cole pipe and to say that over like um another the man like that man doing tricks on it when it comes to drake no cap like how you're gonna rap over But his beat, give all those type of compliments and be like, yeah, you know, I'm good with taking third place. Like, imagine the top three artists in the hip hop game saying that at this point in time when you've had such longevity in the hip hop game. I'm still trying to bring this up. I want y'all to see it because y'all won't, y'all won't believe it to y'all see it.
Starting point is 00:09:41 I kid you not. Y'all won't believe it to y'all see it. I don't see. I think in general, like, I don't know if genius has it because it's technically a freestyle. and I'm I'm still gonna I'm still gonna bring this up because I have to show y'all
Starting point is 00:10:05 for y'all to believe because this is your favorite rapper I said we were going to spend some time on this because I feel like this is a very interesting subject matter as far as people just thinking germane is just the greatest thing since sliced bread right?
Starting point is 00:10:26 Let's see, did I find it? Jay Cole piped down even genius don't have it up yeah they try to save him that's crazy they try to find they try to save him oh did he title it heaven's EP oh and this i don't understand heavens ep genius here we go ah fantastic fantastic all the germane fans out there i swear to y'all that i'm not hating these are literal
Starting point is 00:11:25 Like this is literally stuff you could look up. And it would be right in front of your face. But here, I'm about to do it for you. So make sure to shout out or shout out to my analytic dreams video podcast on Spotify to see the video element along with the audio. Because let me show you some. Look at this. Look at this. Look at this.
Starting point is 00:11:54 Look at this. This is ridiculous. Like the way he was just talking like, y'all think i'm a drake stand y'all ready y'all gonna read along with me or y'all want me to read it y'all want me to read it y'all want me to read it okay hold up jermaine fans just hey it's gonna be over soon but i gotta get this off my chest because
Starting point is 00:12:21 people be acting like this man don't be saying the things that he be saying jay co said on heaven's EP i'm at peace knowing god ain't deal it in this group of cars for me Some people say that I'm running third. They threw me to bronze at me behind Drake and Dot.
Starting point is 00:12:49 Yeah. Them Exhibitives is superstars to me. I repeat. Some people say I'm running third. They threw me to bronze behind Drake and Dot. Yeah. Them exudives is superstars to me. I want to remind you that rap is a contact sport.
Starting point is 00:13:23 the day that athlete comes out and says the opposition just has first and second and they're okay with it because those guys are like superstars of them is the day they should retire with that being said let's get into the actual lyrics from the song right i just i really wanted to play this track right here well i really wanted to show you all that video right here one of the funniest videos of all time like literally one of the greatest and funniest videos of all time because for me the biggest gripe i have that's how you say it is it right i don't know y'all get the word right anyways the biggest gripe i have with germain is that everybody puts him at top three at this point when people like few future, been putting out impactful music to the culture in a way that's substantial and has longevity and he still doesn't get to respect that he deserves. I believe the modern generation, well, I guess at this point, it's more of like a icon generation.
Starting point is 00:14:49 I don't know, because they've been in the game for decade at this point. So the decade list as far as the top three in hip hop, I would say Kendrick, Drake, and in future, right? If you want to swap out future, I will put Nikki Minaj. Jay Cole is not anywhere in the top three in my eyes, and that's why I get frustrated with because I feel like people just blatantly disregarding stats
Starting point is 00:15:19 and only looking at 2014 to 2017, no, I think it was 2014, Forest Heels Drive, like, people only look at that album, and in disregard all the other facts. When all of the artists that I named in the top three, top four have been consistently dropping hits. Literally, Nikon Manage has dropped one of the most successful solo rap songs since Lauren Hill with Super Freaky Girl, right?
Starting point is 00:15:48 I know, the title's crazy. But the numbers were also crazy. Drake, of course, consistently tops the charts for his music. Kendrick consistently tops the charts when he puts out his album. Let me remind you that when he released his album, Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers, people thought he wasn't going to sell well.
Starting point is 00:16:20 And he ended up selling 286,000 first week. Well, 295,000 first week. His fourth number one on Billboard. Now, a lot of people bring up Jake Kohl, right? Like what is Jay Cole selling? Jay Cole is in that top three because he puts up numbers like that from time to time himself. Ladies and gentlemen, if you look up the offseason, right, and this is all public knowledge, the all season album by Jay Cole in the first week sales, it comes to, let's see, 282,000 copies first week, which obviously is lower than Kendrick. But when people think about it, they would say that he's in the same realm.
Starting point is 00:17:37 So when you get into numbers talk, people like, Jay Cole is him. There's a lot of other artists who put up numbers like Drake that same year put up $604,000 first week. Kanye West, Donda, put up $309,000 first week. And then you had Jay Cole who put up 282. So when you're talking about top three, I think we really have to talk about the way that Kendrick went on a whole hiatus came back after serving time and Ghana wherever he was
Starting point is 00:18:12 and still outsold Jay Cole and with Drake I mean it's not even a conversation sales wise of course Nicky Minaj and Future is definitely a conversation because as far as the album and first week sales is not as much but as far as the impact and what they've done for the culture is way more much more than Jay Cole sort of how people talk about Chief Keefe
Starting point is 00:18:36 and how he impact the culture even though he doesn't have too many hits that's how well I'm not going to say that's how Nicky and Future is because they definitely have hits let's not be disrespectful but as far as impact wise it's Chief Keefe level as far as off the out of the studio antics
Starting point is 00:18:55 but that being said I don't want to focus too much on that let's get into actual lyrics from the song Secret Recipe like I said I'm going along on this for a reason because I know people like when people hit me up that j cole and little yadi drop and it was like they put like the eye emoji because they if you've listened and i'm pretty sure most of you have um you know shout out to the 80,000 people who come every week to listen to these different segments. Y'all know i despise germane and i think yadi is lyrically and sonically the worst i've ever heard in life.
Starting point is 00:19:34 really sonically lyrically he's okay it's just the way he sounds he wraps like he holds his his like he takes his he takes his uh two fingers right he takes his finger and his thumb and he puts it around his nose
Starting point is 00:19:49 and he just starts his verse off and that's how he wraps for the rest of the duration right so sonically I just think Yadhi is the worst ever yeah uh germain though he's he's pretty solid honestly I'm not even trying to disrespect him. He's just not top three.
Starting point is 00:20:06 So let's get into this. Jermaine said this one line that took me out because he said a lot of fake stuff in here, but just one of the more obvious ones just to let y'all know that I'll be bringing the facts when I go at Jermaine. It's not like I'm just making stuff up. Is trying to find it.
Starting point is 00:20:33 It's a very specific line. Let's stop. I like the activist part. That was probably my favorite part. part of the verse because you know you got sprinkle the positives in there where is it at i'm trying to find it said something about interviews and tell me if um what is this patience love maybe he said at the beginning i saw he said this at some point let's see umicide making decks thanks god bless bangladesh ah here we go cool so my greatest flex is that i made of milly
Starting point is 00:21:29 Feel like I'm Bangladesh. I hate the press, refusing interviews whenever they request. Now, rappers are professional lies, right? But the reason I say professional is because the smoking mirrors that they show to the average fan
Starting point is 00:21:48 makes them believe a certain perception that's just not reality. This is just a blatant lie. It's not professional at all. It's just straight. I'm lying to your face. Hopefully you accept it. This man said, I hate the press, refusing interviews whenever they request.
Starting point is 00:22:06 Nothing wrong with not doing interviews, especially at this point in Jay Cole's career when he's giving us so much, right? But why blatantly lie? I hate the press, refusing interviews whenever they request. Hmm. March 21st, 2023. Jay Cole sits down with Bob Myers. lead by example
Starting point is 00:22:37 ESPN That's an interview Ain't it Maybe I'm tripping Now that can't be an interview That's not an interview My fault My fault
Starting point is 00:22:48 Let me go to something else September 7th 2023 Germain's perspective On the state of rap Heart to Heart And If I'm not mistaken
Starting point is 00:23:03 That's an interview setting right Nah I'm hating right no i'm hating that's not it i'm tripping two interviews in one year same year you say i hate to press refusing interviews whenever they request
Starting point is 00:23:23 hopefully i satisfy j-cove fans out there because that's all you can get out of me and that's all i have for a german he's just uh one of the more overrated rappers in society And it's not because he's bad. It's simply because he's just not that good. And with that being said,
Starting point is 00:23:54 only thing I have to say about Yaddy is, you know, kudos to him. You know, I do want to speak him in some positivity. Technically, he is having the most success in his career in certain aspects. Debuted at number one on three Billboard charts. So it let's start here, his album on Top Rock. And alternative albums, he was number one. Top Rock albums, he was number one.
Starting point is 00:24:14 and top alternative I already said that it just said it oh no no it's three charts okay so it's a rock and alternative he was number one on that then there's just a rock he was number one on that
Starting point is 00:24:28 and then he was there's just an alternative album and he was number one on that his first ever number one on any billboard chart and those were the three I just named top rock and alternative
Starting point is 00:24:46 yeah okay so basically two because I mean it's basically two genres and then a match of both genres. So anyways Yadis doing his thing. I still think he's just one of the worst artists I've ever heard in life. As far as any
Starting point is 00:25:02 audio entertainment I would probably use him in those I'm not going to make that joke. But let's just say if I wanted to torture somebody I'll probably put headphones on tape it around the head and start blasting some strike no cap and um for germane i think i've given enough evidence to why i just feel
Starting point is 00:25:27 like he's inherently overrated by everybody for no reason and to that oh there's one more thing i'm not even done i actually had something else to point out about this verse because i do listen to this stuff like i don't just be i'm gonna stop saying that because obviously all this information i'm throwing that y'all like y'all know i'm coming with stuff that's like oh he really feels like this like yes i do feel like this man is overrated um he said i'm on no this is what this would this took me out and i'm ending with this this is it because i ain't gonna i ain't gonna make a whole episode on this but i know every like this is probably the most messages i got as far as one particular track and i woke up to it because you know i like to sleep sometimes and um i was like
Starting point is 00:26:09 okay i got to give them what they want so if this is what y'all want this is what y'all gonna get Jermaine said He faced time to ask for a feature And saw the face of death Talking about it be a young boy If you don't believe me Just look it up Young boy talked about having a feature with Jermaine
Starting point is 00:26:24 And not wanting to do it Because I don't know Something like He left Jermaine in the studio Because he didn't want to make a feature with him Which I understand You know he's trashed a lot So anyways
Starting point is 00:26:33 He went on to say right I'm on your song Your streams going up Not quite The Drake effect But don't complain ex-expetive take what you get and cut the label check do y'all really believe a top three artists that y'all say are it's top three for the past 10 years would be talking like this
Starting point is 00:26:56 i'm not quite the drake effect but don't complain take what you get ladies and gentlemen i didn't hurt it all i swear to you i can't make this up and people blindly just act like this man just be rapping some of the greatest bars they've ever heard in life when he just simply overrated. That's all I got to say, man. I would play the famous video again with Drake basically saying it's okay. You know, I know you'll never catch up to me,
Starting point is 00:27:30 but you're still number one in my heart, you know, that type of speech. But here it is, if you want to look it up for yourself, you know. So, yeah, man, at the end of day, you know, not everybody can be first and second, but not everybody has to just be so content were being player number, not even three, player number five.
Starting point is 00:27:52 Like one of them where you disconnect the controller and give it to your little homie so he feel like he playing along in the game, that's what Jay Colette is at when it comes to the top three, top five conversation as far as the most impactful hip-hop artists in today's generation. So with that being said,
Starting point is 00:28:14 click my link to tree in my bio. Let me know one of my social, media's what do you think about my coverage of loaded yadi and j cole's track i forgot what was title what was this title i accidentally played the video i ain't sure i'll be funny the secret recipe that's what it is so what do you think about germane and yottie's collaborative track the secret recipe. Do you think it's fire or trash? Who do you think had the best verse or the better verse, right? You know, if you enter that type of, you know, garbage race competition. Um, and lastly, what do you think about my take on where Jermaine stands in a hip hop landscape? And with that,
Starting point is 00:29:13 Y'all have a blessed day.
