Getting back into the K-pop side of things, one of the bigger reasons that I enjoy covering K-pop and just overseas musicians is because of the influence it has on artists from other countries. Because if you don't know, because of the internet, now you can hear a completely different sound from a whole other part of the world and replicate that for yourself. And that is why we receive so much genre-bending music in the past two to three years because now people are getting more acclimated to how to replicate certain popular sounds or in certain regions and they try to replicate that in their own location, which is why sometimes you hear somebody from a whole other part of the world

sounding like they're from Florida and vice versa. Right. so with Lisa Doja Cat and Ray coming out with a new track well it's already out on all DSPs titled Born Again as far a lead up to Lisa's album Alter Ego that's set to come out February 28th 2025 now none of none of these artists currently have any singles or albums on the charts as far as billboard is being considered the thing I will point out though is that doja cat is surprisingly one of the of the more played artists in the world as in a 2024 Billboard Music Award show, which is my favorite music award show currently if you didn't know, well now you know, because it's objectively going

over analytics. Who would have thought that would have been my favorite music award show, right? So Doja K ended up winning top rap female artists for the 2024 Billboard Awards. Now, why is that so significant? Because if you look at Doja Cat's releases as far as in 2024, It's really non-existent. And as far as the charts, because I definitely pretty in tune with the charts, I did not see Doja Cat's name too often on the charts. But when it comes to paint the town red, I did not know that track is still to this day, one of the more pivotal hip-hop tracks being streamed on the daily basis.

So when it comes to that, that's literally the sole reason that she ended up winning best or top rap female artists, which is solely. objective so I would have thought it would have been Nikki because of her Pink Friday 2 album doing so phenomenal as far as first week sales and then going on a sold out tour based on Pink Friday 2 but hey I guess it was doja because you know objectively speaking they said it was doja cat so with that being said not only is doja cat not really giving us too many offerings as far as musically because 24 she did put out Scarlett to Claude so that I think that was more of a deluxe edition because scarlet came out in 2023 more specifically came out september 22nd

23 so when it comes to her in 2025 aligning herself with lisa and ray you can only tell you can only imagine that this is going to have a lot of crossover appeal between the two or the three fan bases because not only does ray do phenomenal in her specific region but then you have uh lisa who's one of the more prominent K-pop musicians and then to add on top of that doja cat was just awarded by billboard as the top rap female musician so now born again as far as lisa's album and this being the lead up for it makes all the sense in the world because if you look at lisa i mean she's currently averaging a lot of monthly listeners as far as i mean spotify specifically it's like around 16 million but when you look at her by herself she definitely has tracks that she that's went up on the charts and then now you're pairing her with the likes of a doja cat the likes of a ray when it comes to the music and streaming impact is going to be tremendous as far as a crossover appeal as far as western and k-pop markets that's to go without saying right and if you look at lisa's acting debut as far as in the white lotus season three that premieres february 16th

2025 for people who watch television well not television but you know like tv shows that is a phenomenal on a rollout as far as not only your album coming out, not only this single with Doja Cam Ray, but your acting debut is happening about 12 days before your album comes out. I can't think of a better marketing rollout than that because the weekend, I remember when he basically had this type of marketing rollout for his album, but it was more of a soundtrack for the HBO show titled The Idol. Now, I'm not saying it's a great watch. All I'm saying is he had a whole soundtrack to go along with it.

So do have the information which you will. So it was a phenomenal soundtrack, by the way. It had some of my favorite tracks from that year on that idol soundtrack. Like one of the girls with Jenny, I think still to this day is one of the best songs I've heard. But, you know, sometimes I'm called a weekend stand because you know, I compare on the MJ vocally. But, you know, that's a whole other discussion. Lisa, getting back to Lisa, she is having a black pink or the group Black Pink is having a World Tour. And, well, no, it was teased.

A Black Pink World Tour was teased, but the date has not been set. So that's very interesting. But anyways, Lisa does continue group activities with Black Pink, despite launching her own label, Loud, which is with 2L. So it's LL and the OUD, so loud in 2024 for solo project.
