LeBron James type B. Let me just point out the historical significance of the date March 8th. Because ladies and gentlemen, women's day is one of those things where there's a lot of things to be addressed. And one of them, the main one, is investing in our women. Because if you don't know, women's rights, especially in today's political climate, gender equality, and fostering more informed and equitable society is a conversation that's been brought up more and more up to this point in 2024. So I wanted to do my due diligence and let y'all know that that specific date should not be. disregarded when it comes to it being women's day. So anyways, Lisa and Rosalia to bring it full circle, put out a new track titled New Woman.

And basically, they put this track out under RCA Records, which if you don't know, this specific track is under exclusive license from Loud Company, which is basically a management company founded by Lisa, which is pretty boss move in herself. if I do say so as far as the field. And bossing up and creating her own management company, she also is a member of the K-pop group BlackPink. So with that being said, and then having a partnership with RCA Records, which is even a bigger management company and combining it with our own company

because sometimes you have to have, not sometimes, all the times. If you want to have your own management under a major label, you better have some type of leverage you're going into the meeting or they're just going to laugh you out the building. So safe to say Lisa is definitely a big deal when it comes to the music industry. And here she is back again with a new track titled New Woman with the one, the only, Rosalia. Now, I'm not going to get into a whole spill about how I feel about Rosalia as far as her impact on the podcast.

But let's just say covering her has been an honor. And we're going to leave it at that. So anyways, August 15th, 2024. That was the release date. Co-writers was Tov Low, Lisa and Rosalia. I don't know who Tov Low is, but hey, they put it on there. As far as the producers, you have Max Martin. I don't know what that name is.

It's an IA, L, so I'm just going to skip it. So don't feel disrespectful. I just didn't want to butcher your name. And then, of course, got to have the music video. music video is directed by Dave Myers and the whole theme is Y2K inspired visuals including elements like a flip phone and a photocopier I mean what is a music video set in the past without some type of nostalgia like item to let you know that that music video was shot for an older effect to look at that music video and be like hmm I wonder if they was around that time definitely not

but they made you feel like it so anyways as far as the chorus is definitely provocative, explicit. A lot of things I don't say in this podcast because it's PG. You know, got to keep it PG. And as far as the overall message, I mean, just like I started off this segment, y'all thought it was random, but I actually wasn't because this track is literally about empowerment and self-renewal and resonating with artists personally and professionally as far as growing.

And that's just highlighted by the fact that on a new woman track, we have two of the premier women, which is Rosalia, and, um, why am I forgetting her name? And Lisa from Black Pink. I believe there was another artist who made noise off of Black Pink that was, I may, I don't want to get the groups mixed up because then I'm going to start some random

K-pop beef. I ain't trying to do that. But I think it was. from uh okay so i got the artist's name but i got to make sure she's from that actual band or i'm definitely gonna be miss speaking yeah okay i don't want to get caught up but my fault but no i was right so uh jenny from uh black pink also was on the weekend soundtrack which is really one of the best soundtracks i've ever heard in life y'all gonna think that's crazy but if you listen to the weekend soundtrack from his terrible show, the idol.

I mean, the show is just complete garbage. But the soundtrack is one of the things that kept me engaged. I know what y'all saying, nah, you know what kept you engaged. Forget y'all. But getting back to the point, you know, the actual soundtrack was phenomenal. And when he put it out as a compilation, because of course it wasn't just him on it, he had, I think I have the exact thing right here. I don't know if he has the exact.

where is this at let me see okay so it's not on the album so that's great i'm just going to go to idol episode four so you have yeah fill the void one of the better tracks i've heard from uh out of that year because it came out in uh came out june 23rd 2023 and then you have one of the girls which had jenny from black pink on it and that was phenomenal song like i just think the overall message of all the the songs on the soundtrack really fit with a show vibe even though the show was terrible hopefully he used that soundtrack for like some other good tv show you know what i'm saying but um reason why i wanted to pinpoint that is just because these black pink girls i hear you almost got trouble right now just play black pink girls

are really talented vocally sonically it's just through the roof as far as talent and very much high quality top tier sonics when it comes from uh when it comes to singing so um as far as lisa more into her career i mean her single rock star which was released june 2024 debuted it debuted at number 70 on the billboard hot 100 of course number four on a billboard global 200 because if you don't know if you are overseas artists you have to have a certain minimum level of statistics and engagement from the U.S. to even be considered for certain certification as far as the RIAA or billboard is considered. Because you can get all the overseas acknowledgement that you like, but if you don't get the same numbers, or if you don't get a minimum amount of numbers in the U.S., they won't count it as far as RIAA certification.

Pretty biased, right? I know. So, you know, blame the music industry. All the major machines in the music is based out of America. So with that being said, Lisa is set to perform at the Global Citizen Festival in September 2024 alongside artists like Post Malone, Dojicat, and Alejandro. And then, of course, her acting debut, okay, so she's getting on her Jenny tip, because I believe Jenny was also in the show.

Anyways, her acting debut in HBO's The White Lotus season three begins in 2025.
