Starting point is 00:00:04 Going over to the UK side of things and no, we're not covering 21 Savage just yet. As Lola Young currently is a rising star, especially nominated for the Brit Award for Rising Star ironically. But that was back in 2021. The year is 2024 and she's still doing her thing that she has currently the 24th most play track in the world with Messi. and it's been on the charts for about six weeks and with that it's been hovering around 24 to 25 for a while now as far as her latest project she has a a whole messy uh compilation right and not the actual like term messy as far we're talking about the song messy she has a whole project well technically a EP or however you want to call it filled with different versions of messy you have messy
Starting point is 00:01:07 strip you have messy live version at the enacie knot have you say that you have the messy instrumental you have messy sped up so I don't know who started this trend I feel like I could pinpoint it back to maybe Sabrina Carpenter but as far as this actually working because we all know that French Montana was the king of this back in the day. I mean, he'll put out 20 different versions of unforgettable. And guess what? It made it unforgettable, pun intended, because that song did not go away. That man had all type of versions of that track because it was a hit, right?
Starting point is 00:01:46 So that's as far back as I could go as far as this strategy being implemented. But obviously, it's a pretty consistent strategy as far as bringing back actual results. as a lot of prominent rising musicians are starting to use the same type of strategy. So Lola Young is no different as there's multiple different versions of Messi. And this originally, as far as the EP, came out back in November 22nd, 2024. So when we're talking about 2025 and it's still being the 24th most played track in the world, safe to say that a lot of people are gravitating toward this type of track. Now, if you don't know who Lola Young is, because I believe this is my first time ever covering this musician.
Starting point is 00:02:30 So she's from South London, UK, and with that, being said, she attended Brit school, so victorious type beat, right? She went to a school for talented individuals, and guess what? She ended up actually being talented. Isn't that a funny Coinkie Dean? As she makes a lot of pop, soul, R&B, and with her music career, creation. There's a lot of storytelling and soul for vocals as far as what she's known for. Now, when we talk about the themes, it has what everybody can relate to as far as love, vulnerability and personal growth, of course, right? So she was also recognized, you know,
Starting point is 00:03:15 aside from the Brit of Wars as far as being a rising star back in 2021, she was also recognized with the cover of together in an electric dream for the 2020. 21 John Lewis Christmas advert. So with that being said, she has two albums currently. My mind wonders and sometimes leaves completely. That's a fire album title. I don't know what it is about these pop musicians, but as far as Taylor Swift in the Torture Poets Department,
Starting point is 00:03:46 as far as who is the Billy Elish one, they hit me hard and soft? Who is writing these album titles for these pop musicians? Like I feel like it has to be some type of ghost writer that's just clamoring to write these type of titles because he's been having this in a tuck or she's been having this in the tuck for a minute right what that been said a lot of these pop albums as far as the titles are fantastic and if you notice they're they're not specific or too specific so that it doesn't or it's not able to be related to to the masses so that's one
Starting point is 00:04:21 of the main marketing strategies as far as an album title try to make it relatable to everyone so as far as my mind wonders and sometimes leaves me completely i mean i'm pretty sure a lot of people can relate to that if not everybody that came out back in 2023 and then her 2024 album this wasn't meant for you anyway i mean that's another fire album title that came out 2024 now it does show another album on her DSP titled intro right but that's only third that's only 21 minutes and 13 seconds long so that's technically like a EP that's not an LP which if you don't know, um,
Starting point is 00:04:59 EP is extended project, uh, LP is, I think like long form project. It's something like that. Anyways, EP is usually below 30 to 35 minutes. LP is anything over that.
Starting point is 00:05:12 So with that being said, Lola Young with her track, messy, is going crazy on the charts right now. She's being recognized for a lot of awards as far as, especially in UK, where she's from. And on the UK single, she peaked at number three, making it Lola's most successful single
Starting point is 00:05:34 of her career as far as the track messy, right? And then you have the Billboard Hot 100, like you just said, you know, she's the 24th most play track in the world. And then when you come to the Billboard, Global 200 is expected to peak at number five. Now, I don't like those type of numbers because those are projections. Those always, those always can change. I like to focus on the actual stats as of right now. Now, what in the world led to this type of success?
Starting point is 00:06:02 Well, TikTok, of course. The app that the United States is about the band, right? That same app that helps out a lot of independent creators and, you know, rising stars try to make money off of their musical creation. That whole tool that also makes it not as important to be on a major label, that's being taken away. So TikTok is about to be completely demolished by the U.S. government, right? And with that, I just want to let you know that when it comes to Lola Young,
Starting point is 00:06:32 this specific track, Messi, ended up blowing up 400% within a week following its TikTok virality. So it was also, it also crossed 250,000 TikTok views using the track by, well, by, you know, currently. So it's just January 2025, but as of today, it crossed 250,000 TikTok videos. So when it comes to Lowell Young, she's definitely one of the more prominent artists as far as from overseas to be added to U.S. radio stations, and airplay is always a great thing, especially for longevity. Also, when it comes to her future plans, I do believe she's trying to go. on tour yeah okay she said to go on tour in europe before performing at cochella out of all places
Starting point is 00:07:31 wow that that is a very incredible accomplishment performing at cocella april twenty twenty twenty five and if you don't know um upcoming challenges such as well no that's not it um something else i was also wanting to oh she recently just completed a two-week tour in Australia. So she's been on the road, definitely being in the front of her fans, performing, of course, and the showcasing that she's willing to put in the work as right after a two-week Australia tour, she's right back at it going to perform at Coachella in April 2025, but even before that, she set the tour in Europe. So that's like an insane work ethic in itself, which is, you know, just to bring it full circle, just showcases wide,
Starting point is 00:08:25 currently she has the 24th most played track in the world and fun fact she's actually on a tyler creator album the latest one i think it's title like igor i believe she's on the track like him if you don't know that's lowly young so it's tyler the creator featuring lowly young and we all know how successful tyler the creator's album was and it's probably because he's tapped into talented musicians like this so shout out to lola young still being out here grinding putting up numbers on and off the track right so that being said click my link tree in my bio let me know one of my social medias what do you think about lowly young and her latest track messy and if you haven't checked her out definitely check out her latest album title this wasn't meant for you anyway
Starting point is 00:09:07 out now on all dsps
