Now getting into Lord's new era as her new or her latest single titled, What Was That? It has officially been put on DSPs.
Now, of course, with this particular artist, it's more synth pop with elements of Lord's mellow drama era.
But of course, her latest offering was back in 2021 when she put out solar power.
So solar power came out August 20th.
2021 and guess what she's under universal music new zealand limited now when she first put out
solar power it debuted at number five selling 56,000 first week so with that being said this
album I would assume to have maybe an upward trajectory as far as first week sales leading it to
the 6070 range or maybe even higher but of course at all
starts with the single. So fast forward from 2021 to now, she is officially started what seems like
her album rollout with her single. What was that that's out now on all DSPs? Now, of course,
there's a music video accompanied with this single as when it comes to the single, there's a lot
of things throughout the track. And as far as the lyrics, there's a lot of memories from her
past relationships and of course how her relationships didn't really pan out like she thought it would right
the music video though that location is set in new york city and it's lord walking around or should i say
cycling around and new york basically ending with a dance in a park where fans recorded her performance
so when it comes to the marketing rollout for this particular track it's been phenomenal to the point
where it is now the number one track on new music for Spotify now that placement as far as one of the more
premier playlists and music period currently is a huge deal having the number one placement as far as on
spotify's new music sets it up to be a phenomenal splash even with people who are not as familiar
with your music now had a little kisonad type of scenario as in when that music video was
what's going on the police shut down the unpermented event because the lord initially canceled the
appearance but later returned to perform in front of remaining fans and police especially the nypd
are not having any of that happening on their premises as you've seen with the kassanat situation
now when it comes to the pop-up concert you fans have to be careful well you know you artists have to
be careful because these fans are
are crazy. When I say these fans are crazy, that's an understatement. So her having this pop-up
concert in the middle of the park led NYP to get involved and shut that down. But I believe there
wasn't any ill intentions from Lord, but just having a pop-up concert in front of your fans in
New York isn't the greatest of ideas. Let's just put it like that. But as far as this particular
single and this being a long-awaited musical offering from Lord, her fans are definitely
loving it as with TikTok, right?
Lord posted her first ever TikTok video back in April 9th,
2025, including a clip of herself walking through NYC from lyrics from what was that.
So definitely foreshadowing the release as of now April 24th as the track is officially out
in its entirety.
But if you was wanting to get more into Lord, just know her album, Solar Power did come out
2021.
It did phenomenal on the charts.
And of course, in Australia, it debuted.
number one and it was Laura's third consecutive number one album in Australia so safe to say that
she's a huge deal in the land of human-sized spiders are my fault all the people from Australia don't
kill me you know if you listen to this just know I have love for y'all it's just the bugs remind me a
drastic park as far as the bug addiction addition right like if there was an australian movie made
and it was based around the human-sized bugs
that frolic amongst the humans,
I would classify that as a horror.
Because going to Australia,
you already know you're going to have to,
one, you got to box the kangaroos, that's one.
But then you got to box the human side spiders,
and then if you get past that,
you don't know what type of,
what type of just monstrosity awaits for you
and wherever you go.
It don't mean, it don't,
it don't even matter where you're at.
put me in the nicest of areas. Just know that seven foot spider is coming for you. So anyways,
all jokes aside, Australia is a lovely place. It's just the bugs. I believe it's crazy as far as
the amount of size and speed that's combined with these creations. It's like monstrous to these
as far as how crazy can we get with the experimentation on giving these bugs? Like what are they on?
creatine like the amount of size and speed the bugs in Australia have i believe is inhumane
to the point where we need to have a world war on the bugs in australia because at some point
they're going to take over now of course all jokes aside lord has had her third consecutive album
as far as in australia and with solar power being the third one so with this with this assumed
album coming out as far as the rollout seemingly because of what was that being out now.
I think that she could have a fourth consecutive album.
And of course, with her last album in 2021, it sold around 50,000 first week sales.
This particular album, I believe because of the anticipation will sell a lot more.
So I'm projecting it to have 70 to 80,000 as far as first week sales.
And when it comes to her collaboration with Charlie XX, don't forget that as it further
added to her 2025 Coachella performance, right?
So there's a lot of things Lord has been doing to pop up in the musical scene to
basically lead up to the single, What Was That?
And for it now to be released, the company with a music video with her cycling throughout
NYC, her fans are definitely going to be excited at the rebirth of her musical journey.
So with that being said, click my link to your bio.
Let me know on one of my social medias.
What do you think about Lord's latest track?
What was that?
At the end of the day, have you ever?
came face to face with a human-sized spider.
