You're probably thinking to yourself, who in the world is this?
And let me tell you, I have no idea.
Now, I'm just joking.
So basically, Lucky is a rapper from Chicago,
and he released a project not too long ago called Alternative Trap.
I don't know what that means, but, hey, teach his own.
So he just released a new single today titled Leave Her.
Sorry, I had to find the title.
I ain't a lie.
I don't know too much about Lucky.
So we're going to be figuring this out as we go.
But anyways, so Lucky is back again.
He's under Empire, which is definitely a major label.
So you can see he has some support.
And I looked at his monthly listeners on Spotify.
And he has around 4.2 million, almost not, yeah, like 4.2 monthly listeners.
And that means he definitely has a fan base.
I don't know.
You know, that's a lot.
So, like in general, Lucky's one of those type of,
artists where some people may not actually know who he is, but it still doesn't mean you don't
have a fan base. And that's not like a full circle type of comment because of like what I do,
but in general, like a lot of people cultivate fan bases on the internet and some call him fan bases,
some call them supporters. Some just call them, you know, peasants. But you know, those people,
you know, they get canceled. So anyways, Lucky is back again with a new track titled Leave Her. Now,
don't know why I thought this was just lucky day and he just felt like changing his name to lucky.
But this is actually a completely different artist.
So he's rapping.
He's not singing.
And the track sounds, I want to be nice because it's my first time reviewing him.
And maybe I just don't know his style or his pattern.
But let's just say it's not for me.
And even when he talks about when he started making music, it doesn't give me hope.
And rappers like these makes me wonder where hip-hop.
is going because for lucky to come out and answer the question of why he started making music
with I didn't really have no plan I just started making music and the action went up from there
there's there's no hope for hip hop like it's just like bro ain't no way we land people
blow up in the hip hop industry from not caring or just not really being a student of hip hop
like just putting a music out because they hear a nice tune they rap whatever lyrics come to their mind
and being from chicago you know there's a lot of things they can rap about so whenever they're rapping
that it gets to the point where you're hearing the same thing over and over you're just repeating it
and if a song blows up because at this point blowing up it's like hitting the lottery because there's a lot
of rappers in the world i mean a lot so many rappers not enough uh engineers as conier will say but lucky
as one of those who hit the lottery is now a successful rapper.
So it may sound like I'm hating when I bring up the question of just where hip hop is going.
But I really do mean that because I would like to think that consistent hard work paired with a conscious effort to achieve a goal is probably the best way to reward somebody.
because of course you can be lucky.
Of course, you could be talented and not make it.
But then when somebody makes it and they may not be as talented,
you get into the area of, well, what are we really doing here?
Are we rewarding talented people?
Or are we just rolling the dice and whoever gets playlisted or supported by a major
label gets a nod for me?
You know, it gets into a really interesting territory.
But this whole conversation is definitely, I can see how it can be considered in the realm of hating.
And usually I save that type of critique for the likes of Jermaine Cole because he's probably the one who deserves it the most.
But as far as lucky, as a rapper, I don't know too much about him.
I just wanted to cover this because I haven't heard a lot about him.
So I just wanted to give a little synopsis of him.
And what I found was not too encouraging.
Basically, he's from Chicago.
He didn't have a plan.
What else?
He makes alternative trap.
He has collaborations with a chance to rapper.
So, you know, that's not the best way to, you know, market yourself.
Anyways, hey, you know, there's really not too much to get into a lucky.
He's a rapper from Chicago, and hopefully, like his latest single.
So anyways, click my link to me in my bio.
Let me know in one of my social medias.
What do you think about Lucky's new track called Leave Her?
And will you be giving it a listen?
