Starting point is 00:00:00 Getting into this specific artist that blends the genres of R&B, pop, and of course, something that I haven't heard in my entire history of covering music. They are calling his style a rendition of bedroom pop. Now, what does it mean? because I am completely flabbergasted on them calling this man style bedroom pop. But that being said, of course they say it's influences or Steve Lacey, Omar Apollo, and Dominique Fike. If you didn't know, Dominique Fike actually had a track on Euphoria as far as it's starring the show starring Zendaya, the HBO show, Euphoria. Dominique Fike also was acting on that show. I forget what season.
Starting point is 00:01:00 I think it was season two. But he's also an artist, as you can see, as him being an influencer as far as towards Malcolm Todd. And the main thing about his influences when it comes to Malcolm Todd is that Omar Apollo is actually on his album, his self-titled album, Malcolm Todd, that came out April 4th, 2025. Now, of course, that specific track with Omar Apollo is titled Bleed.
Starting point is 00:01:25 Now, why do I say that? When it comes to influencers and when it comes to who they are influenced by, just know, one of the top-tier bucket list moments for any content creator. If they say it's not, they are lying. They are bold-faced lying. For any content creator who gets into this game, whoever they're influenced by, if that person embraces the person they influence, let's just say, that guy or a girl would be through the roof as far as elated to see that one of their greatest inspirations actually enjoys the art and compliments right so it's just one of the top-tier bucket list moment for any creator and that's just anything across the board so that being said uh let's get back
Starting point is 00:02:18 into malcolm todd if you don't know his current milestones as far as the trajectory of his career in in 2022 he debuted with the EP titled demons before prom right i'm pretty sure all of y'all was fighting your demons before prom even the people who's going alone but hey you know i mean don't don't kill the messenger i'm just letting you know how you could be fighting your demons while going alone alone at prom right tomm right toy lanes type beat even though some people may not know what that's like right i'm here for y'all who did go to prom alone even though i didn't go to prom alone i'm just letting you know that it's okay if you went to prom alone now without the way 2023 his viral singles was art house and roommates and of course in
Starting point is 00:03:00 24 he had a mixtape titled sweet boy now that brings me out uh that brings up another point so i went to his instagram right because i always have his instagram up in just case in uh just in case i got to put up the visual element now the picture that i chose from his instagram i'm not going to tell y'all which picture it is but my commentary on it would get me canceled that's all i got to say but the main thing i wanted to say is if you go to a retail shop is okay to try certain clothes on they have a whole room that says oh this is the changing room you get to see if the apparel that you chose fits you and that's it so that being said 2025 he debuted with his studio album malcolm todd like i just said as far as april 4th 2025 and as far as it's being his self-titled album and made me want to go to the credits because you
Starting point is 00:03:57 know as a cover of music already know what it means when you have a self-titled album is seemingly your most proud body of work because now you put your name on it just know if that album comes out trash and it has your government on it you may have failed as a musician everybody knows that if you make a project and put your government on it it better be some of your best work and of course this album is under Columbia records a division of Sony music entertainment under exclusive license from Malcolm Todd so it seems like it seems as if he has his business in order as is a licensing deal not the typical only see the subdivision in the major label it actually has Malcolm Todd also and the credits as far as under exclusive
Starting point is 00:04:43 And it probably goes back to the point of him and his career milestones as far as his debut EP, Demons before prom, doing so well on the charts. Well, not doing so well on the charts, but doing so well as far as this particular fan base. Now, of course, the main song that's blowing up from this album is titled Chess Pain. And if you didn't know, Malcolm Todd, as far as the predictions for April 19, I believe it's set to have a good outing with this particular track. I actually don't okay so it's projected to be the 66 most played track in the world and this is from billboard predictions well this is from sites I get that predict billboard placements and it's charted for April 19 so it could be lower it could be higher but it's probably around that mark as far as him affected him masses so it seems as if he has him a successful track and not only
Starting point is 00:05:38 does he have him a successful track is his most successful track personally to him off of the album as far as the self-titled album Michael Todd but that is chest pain that's projected to be the 66 most played track as far as for April 19 so at that being said click my link to my bio let me know one of my social media's what do you think about Malcolm Todd and his emergence as far as through the UK scene and specific and ultimately did you listen to chest pain and are you going to check out his self-titled album that's out now on all DSPs titled Malcolm Todd
