Let's have a real conversation about the longevity of music. I believe that one of the most purest, well, the most purest form of art would have to be music simply for the fact that it takes on a life of his own. And by what I mean by that is you record music and then your music starts to evolve into something that you, you in one lifespan can never do by yourself. And by what I mean by that is, is all these DSPs, so many people listen to music on a daily basis, compared to a book, a movie, a TV show. Music is the most replayable facet of entertainment I've ever heard, seen in my life. So with that being said, of course, with Mariah.

Carrie starting at 1998. And still, not to quote my man Deontay Wilder, but to this day is still putting out music unbeknownst to her, she has the most popular

Christmas song of all time, which y'all y'all already know what that's called. But for the 1% of people on this planet who don't, I'm specifically talking about all I want for Christmas is you by Mariah carry now the reason why i'm bringing that up is because she has released a music box 30th anniversary

edition with remastered singles live music and unreleased songs that were Grammy award winning i know before a lot of y'all say well isn't that technically old music so she's not putting out new recordings of herself well to that i will say that and 2020, she actually did release completely just new material, which was Mariah Carey's magical Christmas special Apple TV Plus original soundtrack. So that came out in December 11th, 2020.

The biggest thing you need to know with that is the amount of work ethic it takes to not only be in the game for 10 years, for 20 years, But to be in the game for, what would it be, like 25 years at this point, if I can do math, if I can't, then I sincerely apologize. But 25 years in this game, I would have to say that Mariah Carey's work ethic when it comes through to music is unmatched. Not to say that she's one of the greatest artists ever, but I will say a lot of different musicians in this. time and in the past put out music on a very spare schedule if that makes sense but basically

they'll put out music one year wait five to six years just to give us another body of work and yes I'm looking directly at Cardi B which is nothing wrong with that right but we have to champion and highlight when artists especially of this magnitude do y'all not know well do y'all not know do y'all know you know if i can speak correctly that all i want for you all i want for christmas is you by maria carey not only i mean of course i already said is the most popular christmas song of all time so defied by billboard and r i double a but according to a study a study by the economist maria carey makes two point five million per year with a single track, and she has earned over $60 million from the song.

So to bring this full circle, that's why I brought up the whole music and longevity conversation. Because as far as the art form, I feel like music has the most satisfying and polarizing effect on the masses. movies, TV shows, books, other forms of entertainment, plays. I don't think there's any other art form that you can bring up that has the longevity, the replayability of music.

It has received multiple Grammy Awards, American Music Awards, Guinness World Record titles, Billboard's Artists at a Decade Award, and Billboard's Icon Award, like,

have I said the name Award enough for you to know that Maraic Carey is one of one? And any chance I get to cover her as an, as a musician, especially as an overall positive icon for the community, I would do so. So that's why I felt like covering this, even though, you know, like I said, it's a combination of unreleased tracks, remixes, live recordings, and remastered audio. as far as for my Mariah Carey fans out there, y'all probably be able to decipher what's old and was newer. But obviously this is all, like I said, rebasters, unreleased, remixes, stuff like that. So with that being said, I think this is definitely strategic because Lord knows that when it comes to December, Mariah Carey does not need help in streams. So putting this out now definitely makes sense because putting it out even like later on would have had her competing with herself as, Making, let me go back to this. I don't think y'all understand. And I'm going long on this because I really want to pinpoint and just highlight and just nail this and repeat this to the point where y'all understand how crazy this is. Mariah Carey, with All I Want for Christmas is You, which is a singular song, makes her over 2.5 million per year.

They don't call me analytic dreams for nothing. I definitely got to look at the numbers. And that, that right there is analytic dreams at his finest. making 2.5 million per year for one particular song. When you've been making music from since 1998, have about, I can't even count the amount of albums she has. Oh, my goodness. Oh, I can't count.

Over like 20 albums and one song is making you 2.5 million per year. And obviously, I'm not saying like that she's a one, obviously, come on now. Hopefully you don't get the inclination that I'm saying that she's a one hit wonder. She has multiple songs that's been a hit, right? But obviously, all I want for Christmas is you is on a whole other level. And that's why I had to highlight that, because that is actually insane. So much money that she's made, even aside from music. And to have music as a whole make her a certain dollar amount,

but then to have one song at a discography make you $2.5 million per year, man, this is the epitome. of why I be pocket watching because that's insane.
