Like they said in Hunger Games,
may the odds be forever in your favor.
Because if you're an Xbox player right now,
the times are starting to look,
no, the future is starting to look brighter
as the Microsoft acquisition of activism,
Activision,
while it isn't 100% completed yet,
It seems to be leaning towards Xbox's favor.
As it's still pending, of course, and the federal judge ruled against the FTC's attempt to delay the deal,
but the acquisition is expected to happen as soon as this month.
so i know that's huge news for all the Xbox players out there and uh even PC players because
Xbox plays uh nicer with the PC platforms than PlayStation does of course but um shameless plug
analytic dreams video on Spotify is exclusive video for Spotify and you can see how
big of a deal
this acquisition is
Xbox with the
acquisition of Activision
will get
Overwatch
Diablo
Call of Duty
World of Warcraft
Candy Crush
I mean everybody's played
Candy Crush
and Starcraft
So of course
you can see why this is a big deal
and why PlayStation is trying the hardest
to complain about this deal
so it doesn't go through.
PlayStation thought they was in the clear
getting Cratos,
Spider-Man,
and what was it,
The Last of Us?
But in general,
I had to push it right quick.
But in general,
Microsoft
is officially playing
Big Bank takes Little Bank.
They've watched PlayStation
get all these exclusives
from, well, like I said, Spider-Man
and Credos, and they was like, hey,
we have more money than them,
speaking as Microsoft compared
to Sony. Forget the
individual
characters. Let's just buy the
entire studio who makes
these games. And guess what?
Now,
we're the big dogs.
So,
the biggest thing about this merger
is that people are saying
it's a monopoly.
because this would in fact be the largest acquisition ever in gaming history, like ever.
It would give Microsoft control over some of the biggest names to ever touch the video game landscape in Call of Duty, like I just said, Overwatch, World of Warcraft, and Candy Crush.
And it will make Microsoft the third largest game.
company by revenue behind Tencent and Sony.
And if you don't know, Microsoft makes the money not off of gaming, but off of laptops and
tech devices.
I mean, you can say the same with Sony, but as far as Microsoft, like they're really in the
ecosystem, I would say more than Sony as far as the tech goes.
But now, in the gaming space, it seems like Microsoft has fell behind more than it wanted to
as they kind of hinted towards when the downfall of Redfall happened, no pun intended,
but they was like Red Fall was not supposed to be this bad, we will make up for it,
and all the shareholders was like, hey, you better.
So now, what do they do?
They go out and try to buy one of the biggest gaming companies and accomplish one of the biggest
acquisitions in gaming history.
Of course, this is not a 100% done deal.
It is leaning more into Microsoft favor, but that doesn't mean anything.
We could always be throwing a curveball at any time throughout this acquisition.
But for now, it does seem like Microsoft will indeed acquire Activision.
And if you don't think that this will impact the gaming industry in the way you've never seen before,
like to put it in perspective
one of the deals
one of the stipulations to the deal was
call of duty couldn't be an exclusive to Xbox
for the foreseeable future or like
Xbox couldn't just buy Activision
make Call of Duty exclusive
to Xbox like they have to wait a little bit
so I think that's one of the biggest things
because the FTC is really attempting
to delay this
acquisition
and the main reason for that is they are arguing that the merger would reduce competition in the gaming industry.
But the reason why I'm saying is leaning more in Microsoft favor is that the federal judge ruled that the FTC has not shown that the merger was likely to harm consumers.
So FTC is like, hey, this is going to ruin competition in the gaming industry.
industry. The federal judge is like, hey, prove it. They couldn't prove it. So guess what?
It seems like Xbox will indeed go through and accomplish one of the largest acquisitions
in the history of the gaming industry. So click my link tree in my bio. Let me know one of my
social medias. What do you think about Xbox in general now? Because I always joke that Xbox
has no games. And I think they took that to heart.
And it was like, guess what?
We have all the games now exclusively on our platforms.
So how do you feel about Xbox going out here, collecting different gaming developers
like Infinity Stones?
And do you think it will destroy or reduce the competition in the gaming industry?
Or do you think it's fair compared to Sony and Nintendo?
