After making a Dorn and sure thing, I feel like Miguel can do no wrong.
So now he's back again to give us a new single titled Give It to Me.
Now, not going to lie to you, I listen to the track.
And let's just say he may not be on that same level anymore,
but it's still quality music to somebody.
anyways um i feel like for this track is very interesting because i don't know if he's following this up
with an album i haven't really followed any of his like promotion type of uh tactics because you know
all artists have them they have a release window they always love to drop in like for kendrick
kendrick loves to drop in the fourth quarter when the year's about to be up that's why with
the whole mr marion the big steppers that was a huge change of pace because he dropped at the beginning
of the year of last year, I believe.
And if you remember, that got him out of his deal with TDE.
So now he runs his own label in PG-Lank.
And apparently behind the scenes, the word is, it's like,
Kendrick Lamar took so long to put out this album
because of his differences with TDE
and just how his contract was going to be up.
If you don't know, a lot of your favorite musicians
at this point who's under major labels
only put out music to get paid
so it's not a bad thing
but it's the reason why you sign a contract
and now all your releases is very strategic
no more Lucy's that can make you a million
or make somebody else a million dollars
and you get $10 is to the point
where if you sign a major label contract
you have people in your ear
letting you know how much they're making
and how much you are making.
And you may just may get a little bitter.
And that may have happened with KDOT and PDE,
which is why they're no longer working together.
But we're talking about Miguel for this segment.
So give it to me a rives after Miguel's 2021 EP,
Art Dealer, Chick, Volume 4,
which was followed by his gully soundtrack, contribution,
violent dreams.
And his last full-length project
came out in 2017.
So I don't know
when he's going to,
or if, I should probably say if.
I don't know if he's ever going to reach
what he once was,
but I will say that the music that he puts out
nowadays is just not straight up garbage.
Like it's not trash.
It's just to the point
where it's like, oh, okay,
Miguel dropped again.
I may give it a listen.
and then you go on listening to like your other favorite R&B artist.
So, you know, it's kind of upsetting for him probably.
But at this point, I don't even think playlisting will save him.
Looking at what major label he's under, I can't even, I can't even let you know what this is.
Like, this is like two different major labels under Sony.
So it's like he's not even in a G league no more.
Like he might as well be overseas.
So anyways, hopefully they can oversee them numbers because,
I don't think they're going to be going up.
So anyways, click my link to my bio.
Let me know on one of my social medias.
What do you think about Miguel dropping a new track called Give It to Me?
And what do you think in general about artists and their lack of music because of their beef with major labels?
