What's this?
Analytic Dreams video on Spotify to see the video along with the audio because right now we are playing the Mortar
Combat One Chaos Reigns D.O.C. Launch trailer.
What I asked is that together we try to break the cycle of violence.
Let real warriors handle this. Speed and skill are beyond you.
Hold up, is that new Sabot?
I forgot they had a new Sabot in this.
When this crisis ends, we settle our differences.
I don't know if y'all know, but Noob Sabah is my favorite character, like, by far.
Second of course, sub-zero.
Once, you know, definitely shameless plug.
Analytic Dreams video on Spotify, because I have more to combat gameplay walkthroughs posted.
And, you know, you can see me putting hands, feet, and elbows on people with Sub-Zero.
That's all I'm saying.
but you know whatever let's get back to the trailer usually i'm pretty nice at fighting games
and i say usually like it's always i'm pretty nice as far as more to combat street
fight is a little that's a little different story got omneman in the cut piecemaker in the cut
homelander all right and then for the people watching the video i'm just going to let the rest
of the trailer play because right now they're just showing gameplay and um different fatalities and
stuff. So with that being said, this is a whole new timeline. Of course, B. Han sub zero has aligned with
the Titan havoc to rebel against Luke King's peaceful new era. Now, forget all that. Let's get into
how the gameplay in the story does not match up, right? The gameplay as far as the assisting
mechanic is something that's been hit or miss, but now with more time we've seen it's been more
of a miss than a hit because of the fact that I'm not going to say it's slowed down the
gameplay in its entirety but with me I realize that playing the game there's certain assists
that's way better than all the other assists so you end up only using like two to three characters
as far as an assist feature in the game because they extend your combo to the point where
why would you use another one that only like gives you a buffer for like two seconds right
the assistant the assist powers are not built the same as far as in the game and when i was using
sub zero i found myself using a lot of um i forget who his name the guy who shoots the uh
why can i not remember his name i think it was syrax because it was syrac and sector but they
show okay so there's female variance of the syrax and sector and his doc but there's the male
variance and there's one of them that has a system feature where he basically should
choose a rocket and it extends your combo right but when I was using that I realized that this
assisting power is way better now all the other powers I was using with the other characters
so it's not really as mix and match as they try to make it seem as far as having like a two-on-two
format or having a assist some characters are cool but then their assisting feature when you
have them as an assistant character is pretty trash so with that being considered I think
the biggest thing to note with the mortar combat one is just
how overwhelming it is from the standpoint of the foundation.
Now,
the story got off to a great,
I mean,
a fantastic start.
But then you realize that the overarching story,
there's really nothing that's developing.
There's no character arcs.
There's nothing that's intriguing.
You're playing the story and then you get to the end
and everything's thrown out the window as far as making sense, right?
It's just random.
build up of environment and storytelling and things of that nature and you get to the end and it's
all thrown out the window for an end game type of ending even though it didn't deserve or even
build up to that type of ending so when you realize that the story aspect of mortar combat needs a
little bit of work but let's focus on what they did work on which is of course new characters
to put along with this DOC that will run you about $40.
And there are discounts available via top-up cards.
I don't know what that means.
Like PlayStation Store cards, I guess, from CD keys.
I don't know what that is.
But the DOC is around 15 gigabytes and can be preloaded for pre-orders.
And it comes out September.
Well, it's already out.
So as far as this DLC already being done,
out the reviews have said that the expansion definitely adds new story content i mean of course
but you come to realize just like the main story it lacks character development and narrative
death and a lot of the critics was basically saying that it adds to the lore but it's just there
like it's nothing that's intriguing to make you want to play besides the addition of new characters
like the female versions of sector and cyrax the fan favorite character as far as noob say but
guest characters like Ghostface T-1000 Conan the Barbarian other additions as far as guest
fighters which are anticipated to be a significant draw but they are not immediately available
at the expansion's launch because of the of course timeline that they want to release content
through and I think fighting games is the perfect setting to have that live service type of
approach but if the foundation is bare bones to the point where if you remember when
mortar combat originally came out it had a certain mode that you played against your friends
but it was king of the heel type of structure it wasn't just private to where you can fight any and
everybody it was a certain system to where if you won you had to stay on top but let's say you
wanted like a private lobby so that you fight somebody the next two guys fighting and the next two
guys fighting it out of that you're going to make your own tournament that's not at all even possible
because of them having bare bones when it comes to private lobby settings and overall customization
when you're trying to play just with your friends like maybe if the guy who wins doesn't want to
stay on top like maybe you want to let the next two guys go right well that's not possible because
once again, is bare bones and undercooked.
Because I think what ended up happening was,
and this is my theory, right?
Nether Realm had injustice in its sights
as far as making Injustice 3.
But then I think they realized at some point
that they wasn't going to be able to accomplish that.
And so they pivoted towards this more to combat one game coming out.
because even though this game shows a lot of promise and does receive bonus and not bonus,
it does receive content on a consistent basis, it's basically just skins.
It's nothing of the wowing variety besides the guest characters that were added as far as
as Omneman, because I even came back when Omneman was in the game.
I mean, Shameless Plug, once again, Analytic Dreams video on Spotify and just look up
more to combat gameplay, analytic dreams, and the shit pop up.
But basically, I played as Omni Man.
He, the control-wise felt just like Omnumann out of the show as far as the way you was
able to fly across the screen, showcase your dominance as far as speed, power, and
versatility.
I think the gameplay loop is very enjoyable, but it's everything that's surrounding it
that makes it very bare bones.
It's like if Call of Duty,
mechanics were still in place to make it feel like a call of duty game but only team death
match which is available instead of like all the other popular game modes it's like hold up this is not
the same as all the other call of duties as far as it being developed and spending more time
in the oven as far as um a totality standpoint because one of the more pivotal things that i even
recognized was when I was playing the game and then the tutorial mode there were less features
than the previous Mortal Kombat tutorial mode I'm like how does they even work like you're just
taking stuff out of the game that was already proven to be an addition to your previous game as
far as having all these type of you know how prime example you know how street fighters tutorial and
training mode has all these different features as far as um
as far as frame data,
as far as moves that you can pin to the top of the screen
if you want to work on it,
like all the little things that makes these games feel like
they actually value your time is missing for Mortal Kombat 1.
And as a Mortal Kombat fan,
it's underwhelming and it does not,
it's not taking care of your fan base
to the point where now people have moved on and will they ever come back to Mortal Kombat 1?
Because of course when it came out the gate, it was selling a lot as far as in totality.
But if you look at the charts now, I mean, it's not in the top 10 of any other platforms.
And that's just a testament to how they don't, they're not retaining the player base for the simple fact that people have recognized that you are giving.
getting us to bare minimum and trying to sell us skins as an addition when really you're just trying
to get more money out of us via micro transactions like the dc just came out and there's nowhere to be
found on the best sellers list of either console as far as Xbox PlayStation or uh steam and another
testament to that is dragging a ball sparking zero sparking zero is a hit out the gate and everybody
is talking about the little things that the development studio
did to make this just the best
Dragon Ball game maybe ever.
So people will give credit
when credits do, but ultimately
if you're going to add a
whole new cameo system
and originally it feels like a fresh
idea, but then with more time you realize
that it's really a monotonous
and it makes for a frustrating gameplay
because only three, four characters
have great cameo
abilities and all the other
ones are pretty trash
and, you know, for lack of a better term.
So I think them focusing on 1V1 battles with more extra variables
Instead of just doing the cameo system
Would be the better route
I think going the more to combat X route as far as having different variations of the character you're playing as is better
than the whole cameo system that they try to implement because of course
I think they was trying to just be different in the way of being different like I don't think this cameo is
system is any better than the more to combat 10 variations of the character you could play as right i
i just think they was trying to switch it up to the point where you can't just say it just as a copy and paste
of more to combat 10 or more to combat 11 so um ultimately them trying to be different just ended up
with an underdeveloped undercc game to the point where now not even the doc can save it because even
though they did receive certain free updates including the return of the classic
animalities where characters transform into animals to finish off enemies as you've seen
throughout this trailer i've been playing they are still promoting these skins like it's the actual
game and it's reminiscent of when i was playing spider man too and i realized that instead of adding
actual depth to the gameplay they would just rather add three four or five more
skins so that little timmy would be more enticed to go buy toys at like Walmart or
toys RS or something i think towards us went out of building uh went out of business that makes that makes
me feel old but uh y'all get what i'm saying right it's for the interest of monetary and micro
transactions instead of actually adding to the overall gameplay mechanics of the of the entire video
game right so and to this day i still don't know if they have actual private lobbies i mean i hope so
with this much time to work on the game.
But, yeah, man, the only biggest things that I see that's intriguing to me is Noob Seabot.
I mean, he's one of the main reasons that I even come back to Mortal Kombat because if it
wasn't for him or Sub-Zero, I probably wouldn't even have a favorite.
And as far as Mortar Combat 1, I will say the way that they did Rain's character, it's probably
the best.
It's probably the best I've ever seen as far as Rain's character being dealt with.
because Mortal Kombat 1 and the physics and the graphics is top tier, right?
That's one thing that's arguably the best has ever been at as far as the maps and the visuals of the game is top tier.
It's just everything else that's bare bones.
And it's unfortunate because you can see where this game was going.
But ultimately, it just didn't reach that entertainment wow factor, especially with Wu Kong, Astrobot.
there's an anime game out that's right now.
I forget the name of it.
But there's a certain anime game out
that's taking the world by storm.
And then you have, of course,
Black Ops coming out.
Then you have all the sports games.
Then you have Warhammer.
It's too many games.
That's potential game of the year contenders
for you to be trying to promote new skins
and hoping people come back to your.
game right so that's why i say that because i think that we need to get to a point where in dragonball i
even say that that game is going crazy online right now so it's too much to compete with to be putting
out these nonsensical stories and thinking people are just going to come back and be intrigued for
the simple fact that you're more to combat like no my brother you may have to put a little bit more
effort for us to come back and play your game so with that being said
click my link to you in my bio and let me know one of my social medias have you played
motor combat one chaos reign and if you've had if you have what do you think nether
realm should do when it comes to continuing this game or what do you think they should do in the
next mortar combat to make their retention as far as a player base consistent
