The truth is poison to any fraud.
Demigod rocking suits and shoes going against any odds.
How could you hate me?
I survived the 80s.
The deeds, the trauma, embalming, fluid and lace weed,
inhale fumes from a stove will cook up.
The shows booked up.
I chose to take over.
I chose to take the world over.
Look up.
Now listen, that's called motherfucking bars, nigger.
You know nothing about that.
Yeah.
When I tell y'all that this is one of the best lyrical tracks of 2024 is not even close.
The way that Nas can come out in a celebratory manner for the 30th anniversary of Illmatic,
reflecting on his creations, contributions to various, you know,
lanes and entertainment, especially hip-hop.
It's a very heartfelt reunion,
but it also signifies the status that we have Nas at,
as he put together words on this track that let you know
why we have him in such a high ranking amongst all other rappers.
Now, people recently came to know nods,
as far as from another demographic,
simply for his multiple Grammy wins
in a series of Grammy wins
for his acclaimed projects like King's Disease
with Hip Boy, the whole trilogy.
But as far as the hip-hop fans
and majority of the world,
because to this day, I still think Snoop Dog,
Jay-Z, and 50 Cent are the main people
that other demographics know,
especially Loane.
I can't leave him out.
But Nas is really to himself really just about the pen and the pad and doing his business behind closed doors.
He's not really extroverted when it comes to the media antics, which is not a bad thing, but I think it lends to why people don't see him in the same light as a Jay-Z, a P.Ditty, 50, things of that nature who are out there playing media games to get some type of acclaim.
So the way that Nause puts words together is like an alien from another planet.
We just are never going to see something like this again.
50 years old, still putting words together like this.
Obviously, people come out and say that putting words together should become easier as you age
because you have a lot of life experiences to pull from.
But let Andre 3000 tell it.
He doesn't know what to rap about.
out. So when Nas comes out basically makes it effortless and raps about his life. It lets you know that
any age you can put out a phenomenal verse and it can be incaptivating to the masses. And that's the
biggest thing I want to get at because it's not going to be a long segment. Obviously,
Nas and DJ Premiere just put out a new track celebrating the 30th anniversary of Elmatic
with the track they just put out is titled Defined My.
name which all gnauz fans all hip hop fans are going to enjoy this track simply because not only is
the track reflecting on naus's legacy but they also have announced that they have a forthcoming
collaborative album and at that point we just got to clap it up for him because real hip hop is
is still alive and well.
Like even though we have people like Jermaine out here just letting our ghosts down
and literally letting Nas down himself if you go back in history,
we still have the man who was let down himself.
Still in today's age in 2024.
I mean, we in 2024.
And Nas is still out here giving us some of the best bars we've ever heard in hip-hop.
I just can't call it, man.
that level of longevity i talk about drake when it comes to lyrically putting words together at a long
time like for a long time naus is up there as maybe number one because of course j z put out 444 a while
back but as far as the consistency i don't know if somebody has been as consistent as naus for the
beginning of his career to now. So with that being said, of course, if you don't know about
I'm not, hey, if you don't know about Illmatic, you know what I mean, you know what I mean,
but you know, I got to do my jobs. You know what I mean, of course I'm going to let you all
know what Elmatic is about, of course, if you don't know. So Elmatic was like Nas's supreme
iconic album all the way back in the early 90s that was put out by Kolematic.
Columbia Records and people always talking about the sales and current day talking about how old rappers then used to sell but
exactly like every entertainment league you need the ones to come before you to show the value and then the people who come after
probably get the profits and the blessings that the OG set up so Nas putting out Elmatic set the
groundwork for a lot of hip hop classic albums to come out in the future because that is
one of the more pivotal classic hip hop putting words together projects that you will ever
listen to in life so people please take this man and give him his flowers because it's one of those
things where i mean we're talking about the 90s i mean if we really want to get him
into it, the legacy work of
Nas is a reason why he's in everybody's top five.
So, when I'm looking at it
and looking at his whole discography,
this man has been active since,
well, 1994.
And that's not even counting
all the mixtapes. Because
one thing I've been taught, you know, by the OGs in the world
is that when music was made,
it didn't go out on platforms for everybody to stream.
So there's probably Nause tracks out there from even before 94, like just mixtape land
to where people don't even know about it.
You know what I'm saying?
So I went on my DSP, which is Spotify, went all the way down and it tracked all the way
back to 1994.
Obviously, I believe that Nause was way more active before he put out Iomatic, which was
his debut album, debut studio album, mind you.
And I don't know if you get a studio album, if you're not for.
putting out certain mixtapes back in that day.
So obviously all his music,
we don't even know when he started, but we do
know that the longevity can
certainly not be denied.
With that being said, click my link
tree in my bio. Let me know one of my social
medias. What do you think about Nas' recent
success being that
his career length
has been so long?
And also, if you're a
Nas fan or if you're a hip-hop
fan, what is your
favorite track or
album from Naus.
