Starting point is 00:00:00 Dropping a nudge track at the same time you drop your album has to be one of the worst moves ever in music history. It's kind of like if Kanye West was coming up and before he even put out the graduations, he put out some type of mixtape, half of him rapping, half with instrumentals, and he had like Jay-Z on the first track or who was popping back in the day. or he had 50 cent but he would have never had 50 cent but you know it's kind of like one of those things you have a very prominent rapper
Starting point is 00:00:39 at the top of your quote unquote debut with rapping and you're just going to get out rap by Nause I mean that's already a fact but to have that as your opening act on your album is kind of tough because I mean
Starting point is 00:00:56 obviously his first intro two is out his first intro track is just him rapping Acapella and then it gets into the hip boy and gnaz track titled um the tide so having the tide featuring naz is going to take a lot away from your entire album i think he should have released this as a single but then i think people would have attributed that single to of course naz is a highly acclaimed um king's disease album they would have thought that was a single for that So it kind of makes sense why he would drop out, drop the whole entire album with it.
Starting point is 00:01:35 But at the same time, it definitely does not. Because let me tell you, nobody's going to listen to the entire album more than they listen to that one track with Nas. And I feel like that may be a little harsh. But when you're a producer trying to get into the rap field as a rapper, I mean, if they didn't respect Kanye West when he was rapping slash producing, then you already know how Tumotri is. that whole path can be from going from producer to rapper. And from a lot of people that he's had on this album with Dom Kennedy, the Alchemist, currency, all attributing to the album, I don't think it's going to take away from hip boy from a producer standpoint, but from a rapper, people are just going to skip that part and go
Starting point is 00:02:22 right to the actual people who they think can rap and then just go straight to your instrumentals because that's basically what they want from you now i think that's more of a harsh critique of hit boy so that's the kind of lane i wanted to take because i'm not going to lie i don't think people really look at hit boy as a great rapper he's wrapped on a few tracks of his own a few beats of his own and nobody was just like wow it's like tremendous bars obviously he's not putting out like trash but when you're rapping in that type of manner it's kind of like okay you're to hit us with the lyrical miracle spiritual meanwhile you have a guy who does at the highest level and all the other like prominent hip-boy beats are going to like mumble rappers no no offense to
Starting point is 00:03:09 the mumble rappers out there but but it's just a whole different sound that you're providing us with that we're getting accustomed to so for you to come out rapping like you are with gnaz as the first feature out the gate for your debut rap album ever it's kind of like you're like you're really taking a shine away from anything that you was trying to get across on this album and that's just me from a bird's eye view haven't heard the album at all so that's i mean i heard the nause track of course um and let me tell you noz went ballistic but you know i mean it's noss so um yeah we're gonna see how this goes man it's very much a leap of faith as a producer when you try to rap over your own beats and think people will carry that with the same level of credence
Starting point is 00:03:57 So we'll see how people enjoy the album. And if they even do enjoy it. So anyways, I click my link to your in my bio. Let me know one of my social medias. What do you think about Hip Boy and Nas as a dynamic duo? Do you think they're one of the best ever? I'm being so serious. Do you think Hip Boy and Nas is one of the best ever when it comes to rapper, producer, a duo?
Starting point is 00:04:21 And will you be listening to Hit Boy's debut? rap album called what's the album called let me see give me a second surf or drowned
