Right after Sean Carter announcing his new book museum called The Book of Hove that opened on July 14th at the Brooklyn Public Library in New York City, the exhibit to celebrate Jay-Z's life and career.
It features over 100 artifacts from his personal collection.
Not more than five days after, Esco came out himself, aka. Nas, and revealed that his new album, a. magic two, is set to
release July 21st,
2023. Now, I may not think
anything of this beef between
Nas and Jay-Z, but
it's gotten to a point where
we obviously
notice how the release
dates are very similar
with Jay-Z
accomplishments and with
Nas' accomplishments. Like now,
they are going out their way
to spar
one another with
who can
have the longest longevity. I guess that makes sense. Well, who can have the longest longevity,
longest career? Basically, with Jay-Z with Nas, every time one of the other drops anything,
music, like I just said, a museum, a movie, TV show, it's just whatever. The other one has to
follow it up with some type of announcement of his own. It's almost a very iconic back and
that I don't think we've ever seen in hip hop as far as how long is ran.
I mean, of course we have 50-send jar rule.
We have as far as long-standing beefs.
I can't really think of any other ones.
The game is somebody.
I know the game beef was somebody for a long time.
But anyways, basically, Jay-Z and Nas is like the epitome of hip-hop beef as far as them now being in a friendly zone.
So nothing physical or violence is going to happen.
but it's still artistically a very noticeable beef as every single time j z does something
gnaz does something i mean i remember when naz and hip boy was putting out king's disease
and if you look if you look up the release date j z will put out a verse an album like i remember
when naz put out something and then j z put out his verse for uh for god did like it was just it was just
instant. It was kind of crazy. Obviously, it isn't instant. It's like the next
week or a day or two. Like, they give a little bit of time, but you know what they're doing.
The following something else, the following up was something of their own every single time.
There's Nas and Jay-Z Beef is a sight to behold. And I don't know why they're doing it,
but I'm not mad at it because Nause is one of my favorite rappers of all time. Like, as far as
artistically and being able to rap.
I think he's in the top 10 best rappers of all time.
I don't think that's anything like crazy to say.
And some people may be like, top 10, why is he down number three?
And he's not number three for me.
But so he's in my top 10.
But I do believe the longevity and the way that he's been respected throughout his career,
not changing or altering to weird marketing tactics just to sell an album
or a single, I think this is the type of run that I envision Drake having, which is why I hold
Nas to such a high regard when it comes to music-wise, because Jay-Z fans would be lying to you
and to themselves, as they told you musically, Jay-Z has had a better career than Nas as far as
longevity.
Nas is given us
King's disease 1, 2, 3,
magic, 2,
all in the past
3 to 4 years.
No disrespect to
Jay-Z, but he's only
given us 4-4-4.
So,
when I'm looking at
the longevity of Nas
and the amount,
is really the quantity
that I'm intrigued on
because the way he's able
to uphold
his quality
while also given us
immense quantity
with features
albums, projects
is really a sight to behold
because if you're a
fan of an artist
you never want to see that point
where they fall off.
And for Nas,
he's been, when did Nas start?
Okay, now I got to look at
when Nas started rapping
because this is just ridiculous.
Like this man has been in this game
for way too long
to be still rapping like this.
This man released
his debut album,
I'matic,
in 1994, which of course is considered one of the greatest hip-hop albums of all time.
So from 1994 to 2023, this man is still consistently giving us bodies of work.
If that's not dedication to the craft, I don't know what it is.
Because a lot of other artists in Nause's position would not even have to,
or not even want to put out this level of, uh, of, uh,
product like
that he's compensated for
rapping they would have been retired
not saying
that Jay Z did that
but there's a lot of other artists
that started in the 19 oh
that started in the 90s
that are not rapping
to this day
and for Nas
to be going over and over again
with every single album single
it's just really is
it's almost like a LeBron-esque
type run it's like I can't believe he's
continuing and still holding the quality threshold it would be different if he was still to drop
which we know some old hairs like this if they were still to drop and it just wasn't connecting
and everybody was saying it was trash but naz even with king's disease somebody some people was like
oh it's like his best album obviously it's not elmatic but you know it's like one of his best albums
and then with magic everybody's like well i like that better than king's disease so it's always like
he's not even battling the the falling off factor he's battling himself they're like
comparing him to himself.
That's why I was saying that with me being a huge fan of Drake,
I would hope he has a run like this,
where he keeps putting out projects for us
and they keep being held in a regard that is like better than most,
most, if not every other rapper.
So anyways, I say how that to say.
Nause is releasing a new album titled Magic 2,
July 20th.
Well, technically July 21st,
because you know it's Friday.
But the reveal was shared with Hidboy, of course,
and it confirms that...
Let me see.
Oh, he also confirmed that 50 Cent
would be featured on the album,
which is a huge deal.
50 Cent was the last time he put out music.
So,
nods having 50 Cent on the album
would be pretty crazy.
It will mark the first time
that 50 Cent would,
appear on an album since he was on who you rap and too hot, both of those songs on 50s,
2002 mixtape. Guess who's back? Interesting. Um, so I think that's the biggest thing. Yeah,
so 50 Cent being a feature on the album, I mean, that itself should, uh, sell the album. Because
obviously, now he's going to do like crazy Taylor Swift numbers, but he's going to do like
respectable numbers. I would say like around 60 to 70,000. Maybe that's way too low. Because
I know it's Kings disease.
How much the King's Disease sell?
Kings Disease 3 back in 2022,
29,000 first week.
Well, I may have been too high with that one.
So that's tough.
So I would say around 30 to 40,000 first week for Magic 2
as far as first week sales.
I think Nause is one of those,
well, his fans is always going to listen.
So he's always going to have that core fan base.
and even if the new age people don't listen to Nas,
he's still going to have his fans from a long time ago
that's going to give his records a spin.
And so I think that 30 to 40,000 first week
isn't out of the realm for Nas to accomplish.
So, I don't know, I can't wait.
The way I'm thinking about it, though,
that 50 cent thing is throwing me off
because I swear he was on, like,
I swear if 50 Cent had a,
a feature before that.
I know he did the whole Pop Smoke album.
So he like,
A&R that or it was like the producer or whatever.
But if I go to 50 Cent,
I'm pretty sure he was on like,
let me see if I can find it.
So basically, 50 Cent,
because wasn't he on a song with Pup Smoke?
Yeah, the Woo.
Okay.
And that came out on like, what?
I was like, hold up.
That was.
So in 2020,
50 Cent actually was also featured
on shoot for the stars with Pop Smoke
because I was like, I'm pretty sure
50 Cent definitely had a verse before then.
But what else?
So yeah, that was basically it.
That's all I wanted to look out.
I don't know if 50 Cent had a song before that though.
And it's so interesting with 50 Cent
because the way he transitioned from music
to the Hollywood industry kind of,
it was like Jay-Z-esque.
I was looking for other songs that he may have had,
but I think that's it.
So yeah, I think Pop Smoke may be the last time he was actually on the track.
So, well, she probably had all the residuals for that track.
But anyways, click my link to my bio.
Let me know one of my social medias.
What do you think about Nas putting out Magic 2?
And what do you think about Jay-Z and Nas is back and forth?
Every time one person drops something, the other one has to follow it up with something.
Like, what do you think about that?
And if you're a fan of either one of these artists, who do you think has had to better
career
music wise
over time
