Starting point is 00:00:03 Now ladies and gentlemen, I just want to show you something right quick because of course, you know, I get a lot of flak for talking about how a young boy is very YouTube dominant, right? But when it comes to the charts, he's not always as dominant as YouTube would like you to believe, right? So the main thing I was going to do because, you know, I ain't trying to be a hater. So analytic dreams video on Spotify to see the video along with the audio because, you know, we're talking about Abraham and his sales, right? Talking about how his first album, not first album, his latest. album what happened to the streets just sold 53 000 first week in his previous album that just came out last year which i believe it was american something um american dream something like that it was sold 133 000 in 2024 so a lot of people was making fun of him because of that but then hold up now
Starting point is 00:00:52 ladies and gentlemen let me know what you think of this you know i'm no lawyer you know i'm not really trying to prosecute anybody but this is young boy's latest album and of course he just had a a phenomenal tour so it's not like i'm trying to say he doesn't have any motion but when it comes the numbers i do not understand the infatuation of first week sales when young boy just sold 11 000 yes you heard me correctly and i'm showing on the screen 11 000 first week units ladies and gentlemen but then you know what i'm saying i was like damn look at the state of hip-hop like what's going on so basically the reason why i bring that up is because we're going to get into his latest track titled top cobain and two play devil devil
Starting point is 00:01:32 was advocate young boy does release live music i mean just looking at the year of 2025 alone he put out more link more leaks he put out massa and he put out de shan i do believe massa was his top selling album out of the three because yeah mass is sold 49 000 first week i just got a lot of my shoulders sold 10 000 first week and de shan sold 11 000 so when you add it all up i mean i guess you could say oh he sold more than 21 savage but three albums to sell the same as 21 Savage's first album i think you kind of understand why i'm coming from as when you look at his tour that is why i believe a lot of people are still calling him the most influential especially the type of people he was bringing out in his arena tours because if you don't know if you're a hip-hop act
Starting point is 00:02:18 you probably need a lot of ethnicities other than black people to show up to sell out an arena young boy did one of the most unthinkable things possible as far as bringing out strictly black people to sell out his arena and no it wasn't like no other ethnic ethnicities was allowed it's basically his demographic really showed up and supported to the point where he had more black representation than we've ever seen for a hip-hop artist at an arena show usually you go to an arena show for these hip-hop rappers like drake Travis Scott Kendrick you see a bunch of white guys and girls and other ethnicities and you know the minority is black right with young boy is the complete opposite so anyways I did want to give him his kudos, but I did want to point out his first week sales as far as his last album, Deshaun, that just came out, mind you.
Starting point is 00:03:07 Deshaun came out August 12th of this year. Massa came out July 25th of this year. And then, of course, his first album of 2025 more leagues, that came out March 7th of this year. So looking at it in totality, I would say that I still believe young boy has a lot of influence on the black community, specifically. But when you look at him from a chart perspective, even though he did have Shot Collin, which was the highest charting hip hop track currently as far as last month, not currently, but last month, Shot Collin was one of the highest charting hip hop tracks. It's very sparse as far as him dominating the charts in general.
Starting point is 00:03:46 So when we're talking about his latest track, Top Cobain, I wanted to lead you, I wanted to lead with that information just to put in perspective that a lot of artists are not performing less. It's just basically the game. I'm not going to say it's watered down, but there's a reason why Billboard just literally came out and they was like, it's going to take less streams to have an equivalent unit. I don't know if they're basically saying,
Starting point is 00:04:12 let me see, Billboard streaming. I don't know if they're basically saying that we notice a lot of musicians are having less sales, so it's making our overall product look more watered down, so they changed it. But basically, December 16th, streaming will now have more weight on Billboard 200 and Hot 100. One album unit will now equal 200, no, 2,500 as supported or a thousand paid slash
Starting point is 00:04:42 subscription on demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album. Previously, there was 37 and 5,000, 3,750 as supported streams was equal to 1,250, page streams. So you can tell that Billboard is basically giving artists more leeway to not seem like they are just horrendously flopping. Because I don't think that's the case. I do feel like the numbers, especially where Aubrey Carrion just did, is it okay? I got my dope on me? And basically showed the dope to the world. He was like, hey, here,
Starting point is 00:05:18 hey, police, officers, I want to show you some. Hey, everybody's botting. And guess what? Everybody starts flopping. It's almost like people were button so when it comes to that I think Billboard lowered the streaming for a specific reason but then of course YouTube just came out and said they're not even doing any more business with billboards so that the the billboard chart it's going to look a lot different in a foreseeable future the reason why I haven't covered that yet is because I want to see if there's any more continuation of that specific deal because if YouTube actually leaves I don't know if the bluffing kind of like how the US was bluffing were taking off TikTok I don't
Starting point is 00:05:56 don't know if youtube is bluffing with billboard because the the top three which is warner sony umg they do not want that to happen as far as youtube not incorporating its numbers into the billboard charts because then artists like young boy wouldn't look as impactful on the billboard charts and it will make the billboard chart specifically less important as far as the end all be all as far as the top selling music in the game so anyways well all that being said i will say that young I've already covered him a plethora of times in the year of 2025, and I've given him numerous flowers. So don't think I'm over here just trying to downgrade NBA young boys' accomplishments to the hip-hop game of 2025. Because he did have one of the most lucrative tours I've ever seen for a hip-hop musician,
Starting point is 00:06:46 especially bringing out mostly black people. As it's reported that the Massa tour that ran from September to November 2025, which is 42 shows in general, well in total, grossed over $69.8 million from 500,000 tickets sold. And these are estimate reports, right? So to put it in perspective, Young Boy definitely had definitely had one of the top grossing shows in 2025. And it also ranks as one of the top 10 highest grossing rap slash hip hop tours ever of all time. So when it comes to his particular charts, his particular position on billboard charts, that's why I'm not claiming is as much of a hindrance by I am pointing it out because a lot of people are pointing it out when it comes to Abraham, aka 21 Savage.
Starting point is 00:07:39 So just wanted to put in perspective that first week sales isn't the end all be all. NBA young boy literally just sold 11,000. And in the same year, he had the most successful rap tour in 2025. So, anyways, with that being said, NBA Young Boy just put out his track titled Top Cobain, whatever that means. But if you wanted to know more about Top Cobain, just know it was produced by J.B. Sost Up. This is not going to be tied to any album. Obviously, his fans are loving it. When you really look at the output from Young Boy, it is no surprise that Young Boy has 34 albums in the Billboard Top 200 as far as in his total career,
Starting point is 00:08:21 which is the most ever by any rapper. As far as his age, as far as his output, he is one of the most impactful hip-hop artists of all time. So immense respect being put on his name. I just like to point out certain things that counteracts a lot of people's very blatant arguments when it comes to first week sales. And of course, he's still dominating YouTube
Starting point is 00:08:43 as he has like 15 billion total views. And he's known for being the king of YouTube as far as having always have, one of the top U.S. music channel engagements. So, that being said, that's basically a young boy, if you're a huge,
Starting point is 00:08:58 I mean, for young boy fans out there, if you're a huge young boy fan, just know he did put out Top Cobain and it's out now on all DSPs. So that being said, click my link, sure in my bio,
Starting point is 00:09:07 let me know on one of my social medias. What do you think about NBA young boy and his latest track, Top Cobain? And if you look at it, as of just 2025, who do you think was the most impactful hip hop artist
Starting point is 00:09:19 in the year of 2025? Thank you.
