Starting point is 00:00:00 I don't think I've ever talked about NF on my notorious massivefic platform ever. So what I really want to say is that stylistically, NF is one of my favorite rappers ever. I know some of y'all probably like, this is out of the blue, left field, high praise for an artist we've never heard you talk about. and I think the reason for that is because NF has been away for a while. Like I looked at his artist page. I was like, wow, I haven't talked about NF for that long because I started this podcast not
Starting point is 00:00:41 too long ago. It was like a year or two ago. Definitely not a year. I started this in like late 2020. So like two years. I mean, I can't do math. I know how that goes. But I don't say it's three years because it's not.
Starting point is 00:00:59 But anyways, NF is one of my favorite rapper stylistically ever. Kind of personally, would I like to, you know, if I was a rapper, wink, wink, you know what I'm saying? I would say that my style would be a mix of Drake, of course, because he's the goat, and enough because he doesn't curse in his rap. And I don't know why, just me personally, even before making this podcast, I've always been a person. that's like to use words to replace cuss words. And so I always come up with the whole, oh, my lexicons is extensive. My vocabulary is massive or my,
Starting point is 00:01:46 or I can elocute at a high level. You know what I mean? I always love just lyrical wordplay. And that's why I've always love hip hop. And so cussing was never, as appealing to me. Obviously, I'm not going to be like that person be like, oh man, Cussons Lane. I'm not going to say that, you know, you know, but that's just always been me personally. I always like to find words that I can use to express my emotions in ways that they're just like,
Starting point is 00:02:15 man, just do it because I ex-pilip, ex-will-live, ex-will-live, you know what I mean? I try to get it across in a fashion when I'm using a plethora of words. Anyways, with that being said, enough, just dropped a new track called Motto. and the praise I just gave him is the same praise I'm going to give to this track. This track motto is a great track to come back on because of course he's back like, hold up. I usually don't do this. I don't do this for artists. I might do this like mid, recording because this has to be said because this man, NF, his wordplay, I'm not even going to call it wordplay. His message in every single track is just on point. That's why he's one of my
Starting point is 00:02:57 favor stylistically because he never his his style isn't a detriment to his subject matter like just because he's rapping in a way that not a lot of people like gravitate towards doesn't mean that his um it's not even popping up um give me a second i'm trying to pull this up i'll try to pull up the lyrics because this is going to go it's going to attach to my point that i was just about to say okay uh here you go let me just do it for my phone. Send it to my laptop. Yes, please. All right, cool. All right, live editing. You love to see it. So anyways, NF's subject matter is, well, could be a detriment. Well, probably is a detriment to most hip-hop fans because, you know, they just want to hear about non-law abiding activities.
Starting point is 00:03:54 But when NF comes on a verse and basically is throwing God in every other voice, every other line, and is putting it in a way that's creative. I mean, literally, this man said, let me see if I can find this. Which one? This one point. Okay, here we go. All right. This is the, all right, here it is.
Starting point is 00:04:24 Okay. See, one man's inconvenience is another's joy. How are you unemployed telling me to get a life? You should look at yours. Congratulations. You can raise your voice. Hope you break both your legs falling off your horse. This is the industry where it ain't how big you are, it's how big you've seen.
Starting point is 00:04:45 Where people sacrifice the art trying to chase a dream. Then they wonder why the music's lacking creativity. Would have gave anything to be respected by the artist I was listening to, but not no more. Them days are history. Skip the red carpet looking for me. So anyways, back to while saying. This man really is a rapper.
Starting point is 00:05:14 He gets across messages that is not common from other artists. Let's just say it like that. And his subject matter is obviously one of those where, you know, somebody could look at it and call it corny. Because usually a lot of people like to call stuff corny that's like law abiding, you know, the straight and narrow path, you know what I mean, not selling drugs, you know what I mean? not breaking the law to get a get a head and financial gain you know stuff like that so um with with nf in the way that he gets across his message and his his tracks i feel like it's enough flare
Starting point is 00:05:51 and unique flavor like he said like obviously he throws some stuff in there to keep you engaged like him saying what was that thing called uh when he says hope you break both your legs falling off your horse like you know sometimes he throws that in there because he's filling it a lot with Oh, where people sacrifice the art trying to chase a dream, then wonder why their music's lack in creativity. Like, he's dropping actual gems throughout this entire track. So whenever I'm getting into NF as a musician, I think lyrically, he's one of the best rappers I've ever heard. So with that being said, motto, which is the title of the single, is the single, is the single. is the second single for NF's fifth studio album.
Starting point is 00:06:41 Now, if I go to his discography, which hopefully it pulls up quick, I don't know if it will. I'm going to have to go to my phone again. Give me a second. All right. So NF and his music discography, because of course, he hasn't been putting out music that much.
Starting point is 00:07:00 Wow, I just pulled it up as soon as I put it up on my phone. That's great. This man put out an album. how many hours he has out he has four out right now okay when did he start i swear i didn't used to be this long before he put out albums okay so you put out the clouds it's like a mixtape in parentheses in 2021 right i really came into nf's music music or i found nf's music around 2017 i would say in 2019 the second the second was probably my favorite album from NF just because it was the first album after me like finding this artist
Starting point is 00:07:48 what else yeah basically so he he put out one two three four or five okay so technically claus was a mixtape so his last album was in 2019 uh to be more specific in july 26 2019 it is 2023 so um i love saying that because you know it kind of puts things in perspective you know time flies but But the artists are always working on their craft even with that in the midst of that hiatus. So what I think will happen is that after this track does great on the charts because NF definitely has a solid fan base. I've never put this out on my, well, I've never even talked about NF on my podcast. So I'd be interested to see how the segment performs.
Starting point is 00:08:30 But let's just say that personally, NF stylistically is one of my favorite rappers ever. and the reason I don't bring him up in a lot of hip hop conversations is because he's one of those where it's kind of like La Cray, you know? If you say like, oh, La Cray is one of my favorite rappers, like hip hop fans will probably just laugh at you. Like, like, bro, what are you talking about? Like, he talks about God and stuff. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:08:51 Like, they'd be like, bro, he's lame, you know? So, you know, NF kind of falls in that same category for me. Like, you can't really bring him up, even though he could probably rap a lot of these, quote, unquote, top rappers, like, into the ground. But, you know, to each his own. And I think NF is the epitome. Hey, is that you say epitome?
Starting point is 00:09:11 Yeah. I think NF is the epitome of to each his own. Because his style is definitely something you have to get used to. And for me, it was just perfectly fitting. So anyways, click my link to your in my bio. Let me know on one of my social medias. What do you think about NF's latest single called Motto? And will you be giving it a listen?
