Analytic Dreamz: Notorious Mass Effect - “NICKI MINAJ ACCUSED OF STEALING SAWEETIE’S “BARBIE WORLD” CONCEPT”
Episode Date: June 26, 2023Linktree: https://linktr.ee/AnalyticNicki Minaj has been accused of stealing Saweetie's concept for “Barbie World” featuring Ice Spice. Jason Martin, a Compton rapper known as Problem, took to... Instagram on Sunday (June 18) to voice the allegations. In the post, Martin claimed that Minaj had been working on a song called “Barbie World” with Saweetie for several months, but that Minaj eventually replaced Saweetie with Ice Spice. He also alleged that Minaj had been using Saweetie's idea for the song's music video without her permission.Saweetie has not yet responded to the allegations. Minaj has not commented on the matter. The accusations have sparked a debate on social media, with some people supporting Martin's claims and others defending Minaj. Some people have pointed out that Minaj has used the name "Barbie" in her music for years, and that it is not clear that Saweetie actually had a finished song called "Barbie World." Others have said that it is unfair to accuse Minaj of stealing Saweetie's concept without any concrete evidence. The allegations have also raised questions about the ethics of sampling in hip hop. Some people have argued that Minaj's use of Saweetie's idea for the music video is not technically sampling, since she did not use any of Saweetie's vocals or lyrics. However, others have said that Minaj's use of Saweetie's idea is still unethical, even if she did not use any of her original material. The allegations against Minaj are still unproven, but they have raised important questions about the ethics of sampling in hip hop and the ownership of ideas in the music industry. It remains to be seen how the situation will be resolved.Privacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

accusations are running rampant in the hip-hop community.
I mean, on one end, somebody's snitching.
On the other end, somebody's putting bags on people's head,
which I'm going to let you find out what that means.
And then on the woman's side of hip-hop,
people are being accused of stealing concept art.
Now, if there's one thing I will like for the men to take heed to
and try to mimic is the way that these women beefs unfold.
Nobody dies at the end of the day.
Nobody sliding on one another's block trying to find someone with a park allegedly.
No one's out here yelling at the phone waving an AK in the camera so the whole world can see it,
including the FBI.
Nobody's out here talking about, oh, I got this new chain because I took his girl and put the chain on her because I hate.
him like and women hip hop the beef is strictly music art and pettiness as who's with who is not physical
unless the one time you know with nicky minage and carty b at the fashion center but we don't talk
about that for the most part it's not physical and nobody most importantly the biggest part
is nobody ends up passing away or being killed
in the midst of the beef.
So when Nicki Minaj is accused of stealing
Sweetie's concept art for Barbie World,
I'm not really as irate or upset about it
because a Compton rapper,
aka Problem, that's like literally his name Problem,
so don't think I'm trying to be funny,
took the Instagram to speak up about the allegations
because I don't know why Sweetie didn't speak up herself,
but I guess Problem.
felt like he had a problem with Nikki Minaj.
My fault.
You can throw your tomatoes, but holding for right now.
So anyways, he spoke up on it and he said,
regardless if Sweetie was going to a night,
he had to say something.
And then he went on to say that Nicky Minaj,
no, no, sweetie sent Nikki this original Barbie girl track and concept.
And Nikki took Sweetie.
took sweetie off to replace her with ice spice now if that's not petty not even petty if that's not
wrong that i don't know what is and then martin which i think that's his name um i think that's
problem's real name martin i don't know maybe it's two different people i don't it's we get in the
actual source he said quote y'all going to give me what i deserve now if sweetie don't want a trip that's
her but we crafted a record that was sent over to Nikki to hop on to submit to the Barbie soundtrack now
if this is true which not going to put it past Nikki bomb also not just going to vilify her every
chance that somebody has an allegation towards her even though her track record a lot of people
do say she does manipulate certain things behind the scenes because she can because she's Nikki of course
I'm still not going to just jump to believing this
could be totally false storyline
but anyways I just found a video
I didn't know the video was right here
so this is what we're going to do we're going to pull up the video
and we're going to see what this man has to say
trying to see how loud this is
come on a second
oh it's one minute and 30 seconds
we don't got that much time my boy
and it's buffering
yeah we may not be playing this today
that we want to the internet
don't even want to hear what he says
and it was loading everything up fine.
That's crazy.
Anyways, he basically went on to say, quote,
she said she was going to do it, talking about Nikki,
that all of a sudden a new version was created.
Yes, it's a sample.
You can do what you want,
but you can't hear one thing say you're going to do this,
then go do your own version.
It ain't happening like that.
Anybody that's in this business knows that's not how this works.
And then Martin was upset.
man doubled down on it said as a writer oh okay so he was a right i was like wondering what he had
to do with this but anyways he said i can confirm this song and idea was sent to her last year
to submit for the barbie movie so anyways he's just saying the same thing he's he's mad that
niki got the concept from him i guess he's the writer for sweetie and that's another thing if you're
a ghostwriter for an artist and you come out being mad that you ghostro of something that didn't
come out isn't that defeat the whole purpose of ghost writing but maybe i'm tripping but um
in general i think he was showing proof that sweetie had it before nicky and she was listening
to the icy girl way back or something like that let me see i don't even know if this is going to low
see this low okay oh i do remember this video hold on let me i'm gonna lower this
all right let me pull this over here i hear here's sweetie and all her um greatness of course just like
drake says she's a 10 when she uh wraps on you but you know that's what's that's point so anyways
let's get back to the video so this is the original track and if y'all remember this came out i mean
obviously it says right here um if you want to see the video element just go to my analytic dreams
video on my spotify channel and it will have this up but as you can see june 10th 2023 this was way before
the track was even created according to her writer and this is what she had for the soundtrack she has
the pink hair pink comb and everything yeah nah she was really trying to get that nicky feature i'm
not going to lie that don't sound bad dang if that's true nicky really took sweetie replaced her with
ice spice and i ain't mad at it one bit no it's my fault my fault i'm supposed to have some type of sympathy
somebody have an original concept idea, even though there is a sample.
Honestly, I feel like Nikki is only one who actually can make this sample happen,
because if you don't know how samples work,
you have to be like a big name or the person who made the original samples
is going to look at you, be like, why should I give, why should I let you, out of all people,
sample my track?
But if it's Nikki, obviously everybody's going to be like, wow, you're the greatest
woman ever at.
Of course you can have my sample.
And then it gets cleared faster magically.
So, Sweetie probably sent it to Nikki, knowing she was the only one.
that could clear it and guess what nicky turned around switched her out did a switcheroo um bamboozled her
just befuddled her and switched her out with icy uh the icy girl no no no no no ice spice actually
which is kind of ironic because sweetie goes is icy girl but anyways you know maybe um
i was going to make an icy joke but let me just chill out on that so anyways the barbie
soundtrack is uh already out of course and it has a lot of fire tracks on there uh one of them's from
Lizzo, I believe, Charlie X, CX, Pink Panthers and more.
But Doge Cat also has a track off of that, I'm not mistaken.
I think that was like my favorite off of the soundtrack.
But this one, I don't know, it would have to grow on me.
The lyrics, the sample, I don't know if it's for men like me to be riding around listening
to.
And I'm just going to leave it at that.
Anyways, the gist of it is, click my link tree in my bio and message me on one of my
social medias. Tell me, what do you think about everybody accusing Nikki of stealing Sweetie's
Barbie World concept? And do you side with Nikki or sweetie?
