Released September 19, 2025, via Interscope, the TRON: Ares (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) marks NIN's first Halo 36 catalog entry, blending over 70 minutes of industrial electronica with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross's signature sonic ferocity—no orchestra in sight, just "precise and unpleasant" synth waves that redefine cinematic dread. Analytic Dreamz dissects lead single "As Alive as You Need Me to Be," the first official NIN track since 2021's "Isn't Everyone," alongside "Who Wants to Live Forever" and pulsating cues that echo the franchise's evolution from Wendy Carlos's 1982 minimalism to Daft Punk's 2010 arena pulse. He explores how this M-rated sequel's grid-bound narrative of AI awakening and human obsolescence fuels Reznor's dark, human-infused textures—visceral glitches, throbbing basslines, and emotional fractures that humanize the code. Analytic Dreamz analyzes the score's cohesion as a Ghosts I-IV successor, weighing its emotional potency against brevity critiques, and its fit for Jared Leto's Ares invading our world. Does crediting it to Nine Inch Nails elevate it beyond Reznor/Ross commissions, or does the digital sheen risk diluting NIN's raw threat? He probes tour ties via the Peel It Back 2026 run and Future Ruins festival, questioning if this electrifies the multiverse saga. For Tron: Ares soundtrack breakdowns, Nine Inch Nails score reactions, industrial film music analyses, and Reznor Ross updates, this segment is your grid-locked essential. Now before we get into the Tron Aries, original motion picture soundtrack that came out September 19th for the movie.
Tron Aries is set to come out October 10th of this year, which is essentially a Friday.
Well, next Friday.
Just know that nine inch, I think I'm saying the name right.
Nine inch nails.
Goodness.
Nine inch nails, which original.
founded by Trent Resnor back in 1988 in Cleveland, Ohio.
But then you know what I'm saying?
So that being said, it's very specific about the industrial rock and synth pop with heavy metal.
So of course, when it comes to that particular group working on the Tron Aries original
motion picture soundtrack, safe to say they've already had some hits,
themselves as head like a hole originated as the bedroom demo in 1989 which was inspired by
resnor's rejection of tvt records control and of course when it comes to other tracks they've had
remix heavy halo three single tracks which was 11 in total um they had a lot of different
mtv video rotation which helped them out with physical sales and
of course the gears of five the gears five trailer back in 2019 helped them out as well as far as
increased digital downloads so and then they had a black mirror parody of 2019 so they've did a lot of
things especially in the video game realm so of course when it comes to the movie realm when
it comes to tron is no different and it's not surprising as that specific motion picture soundtrack
is the fifth most played project in the world
world selling 44,000 and of course when it comes to the sales analytically it is one of the best
performing projects in the world but none of the singles are really trending as far as the billboard top
200 but the project as a whole is doing well as it's the fifth most play project so it's still a phenomenal
album as far as from an analytical perspective but as far as specific singles there's really no standout
on this specific album now when it comes to that I
I do have the interview up as far as the nine inch nails talking about the Tron Aries soundtrack.
So of course I wanted to get into that as a reaction, but wanting to give you a little background
as to why we're talking about them in the first place.
Because not only is the movie coming out October 10th of this year, but of course we covered
the entire music and gaming industry.
So I wanted to get into the musical project, which you know, impressively speaking, is very
impressively the fifth most play project in the world.
So let's get into some of their thinking as far as cultivating this soundtrack.
Analytic Dreams video on Spotify to see the video along with the audio
because we're watching the nine inch tails explain their creation process right now.
Nine inch nails, man.
That's a way to start trail, ain't it?
Oh, an oil.
Music is such a big part of the Tron franchise.
Wendy Carlos.
Hold on now.
Is such a big part of the tron
I know that ain't who I think it is
Oh hold up
That's not the full screen
What my full screen now? Hold up
I know that ain't who I think it is
You know not to be corny
But some would say
It's morbin time. All right my fault
You guys
See that's the problem
My fault, let's keep going
Ranchoist
Wendy Carlos
And then Def Punk
You needed somebody that could fill those shoes
Very good man
When Trinatica said yes, that was like a gift that just kept getting.
Ready when you are.
Arguably the best movie composers of our time.
I was like, oh my God, like this is incredible.
It's Cowboy Time.
Oh, no.
I knew that they were going to do the music, so I listened to them when we were shooting
to get in the groove.
The way it makes me feel.
They're so spot on when they're analyzing each.
I think Ray is the paper color of the Trin, uh, director,
just food for that.
Not too crazy.
...scenes
And gentlemen, I would like you to meet Ares, the ultimate soldier.
It was important for Trantanaticus.
The music is in the front speakers like it would be hearing the music at the concert.
Oh, so he's like the main character, okay.
Like I was levitating.
They didn't let that Morbius movie to turn them.
They was like, nah, we need him.
We need him starting in our movie.
They saw Morbin Tom and they said, yeah, that's him.
That's it right there.
Imagine being a director, seeing the flop of Morbius, and being like, you know what?
That's the guy we need you right there.
That's the guy.
Like, just sitting in a casting room thinking to yourself, you're like, hold up.
Sitting back, you know, I'm thinking at all the people we can have starring our movie,
I feel like it's morbin time.
You guys.
See, that's the problem.
Now, of course, I'm not going to say whether it's indicative of the actual quality of the movie,
but what I will say, as far as the musical side of things, the album's still doing pretty well.
So safe to say the soundtrack, if it's any type of indication of how the movie's going to go,
I think people are going to receive it well.
But obviously, you know, we have to wait and see.
The movie's not out, but the soundtrack is out, which is what we're focusing on.
So as far as that specific soundtrack being the fifth most play project in the world,
as far as 9-inch Nails talking about the creation of the soundtrack along with the movie,
I think it's apparent that of course movie helps out in a lot of different areas and when it comes to movies
specifically being able to play certain sound certain tracks and certain moments just elevates the
overall overall emotional appeal so I think it makes sense as far as this uh this crossover especially
going over like I did earlier as far as nine-inch nails and all their success in the past so
with that being I say click my link show in my bio let me know one of my social
media's what do you think about nine inch nails with their tron soundtrack impressively being the
fifth most play project in the world and at the end of day if you didn't know about nine inch nails
will you be willing to give them a listen
