Starting point is 00:00:00 The most important thing that you need to know is Offsett's album, Set It Off, is coming out at midnight. With that being said, let's get into some drama because everybody loves some drama, and now we got to talk about it because not everybody understands why certain artists don't do certain things, and they always just feel like it's out of some braggadocious or some macho man or machismo type of energy, where you listen to Offset, the way that he explains the way he did, didn't, you know, basically he didn't secure the Playbric Cardi feature. But I think the way that Offsitt answered this question shows why people love to see more of him, whether it's an IRL stream and Kysenet, whether it's a Bobby Althoff interview where
Starting point is 00:00:46 he's just roasting her for 28, 48, 48, an hour straight, whether it's, what else, he did some other stuff, whether he's on Hot 97, whether he's rapping with the, I forget, I get when they have to hang the little mic in front of you and then you rap in front of it and while the hood is in the background or something like that basically people love to see offset's personality and it didn't always use to as an OG megos fan let me tell you it didn't used to be like that megos used to be antisocial to the utmost degree like I don't know who in the world was their PR trainer but they need some type of poster uh I think that's how you say a poster award poster prize I forget what it's called.
Starting point is 00:01:31 Basically, the award that Kendrick got for dropping that one album. I think it was a to pimp a butterfly. I think it was called. I forget how you said it's like the Pulitzer Award. I can't pronounce it. Y'all just going to make fun of me. It's all. I can't say that at all.
Starting point is 00:01:50 So anyways, the PR training that the Migos went through to get them to where they are today. Like honestly, like I just said, they need some type of award, some type of acknowledgement. like Drake said on scholarships, I need acknowledgement. If I got it, then tell me I got it then. Because look at an OG Migo's interview. Then look up a current day interview with any of the Migo members. Obviously, take off, you know, rest of soul.
Starting point is 00:02:19 But they are way more advanced when it comes to interviews and open and transparent than they were when they first got into the game. And obviously there was a reason for that. if you know where they came from, like it wasn't too much talking going on because, you know, hey, you may be the police. But anyways, let's get into the drama. So basically, Playboy Cardi didn't clear his album. People was wondering why they was thinking some type of beef.
Starting point is 00:02:42 And then, of course, with him doing 50 million interviews before his album comes out, somebody had asked him this question. And so this was Charlene the God asking him the question when he came for his breakfast club interview. You're six years strong, man. Congratulations. Why didn't Playboy Cardi cleared a song for the album? That's a rumor online. Is that true?
Starting point is 00:03:03 Yeah, it's true. Shout out to my boy, man. Because I don't get into it with niggas by music. Sometimes people be going through their own. You know what I'm saying? Shout out of the bro, though, man.
Starting point is 00:03:13 He should have cleared that my fucking smash, though. I ain't okay. But be like that. I don't get mad at folks for like that because sometimes people are going. Do you see this answer? Like, the way that he handled it, I'm pretty sure.
Starting point is 00:03:25 95% of artists in the game would have either said no comment or they had they would have had some sly remarks to say they would have been like no comment or they would have said uh he probably they would have said something slick honestly with playboy carty in the way that he's been acting nowadays or not wanting to clear certain features they would have said something slick like you know switched up you know would have made him seem like the bad guy the way the offset took it though was made him not seem like the bad guy made him seem relatable you know that when you say the line, oh, you know, everybody goes through stuff, you can't get mad at that. Like, at that point, it's like, you know what, everybody does go through stuff. So if Flayward Cardi didn't clear the feature, if Offset's not pinning him as the bad guy,
Starting point is 00:04:09 then it must have been just he wasn't in the mood or he had something wrong with him, right? So I'm so glad that Offset handled this the way he did because I think his album, unfortunately, isn't going to sell as well as I hope. Obviously, I'm going to listen to it. You know, I'm a blasted 24-7. I'm just looking at the landscape of what he did with his last single. I forget it was called his last single when he had the Michael Jackson video and all that promotion with the Bobby Alhaw, the Kaysenat interview.
Starting point is 00:04:36 He eventually put out, I think it was fan. Let me see. Yeah, he put out fan and there's nowhere on the charts. Like literally it fell out like he dropped this track. And y'all think I'll talk about Cardi B and Megan the Stallion's Bonko's track. No. Offset. Let me see.
Starting point is 00:04:57 Offset dropped fan. Right. And it was, let's see, trying to find it. People are making jokes, so I can't find the actual track. Offset last three singles. Okay, so it's out of the top 200 completely. That's why I can't find it. So that's what I'm saying. All of this promotion is not working. Like, the amount of money you're losing makes no sense when it comes to the return on investment. People are not paying attention to your music. And I don't know why. I enjoy Offset's music. I enjoy. his i enjoy fan i thought that was a fire track i like i didn't really watch a video but i've seen like snippets of him you know paying homage to michael jackson a very it's very peculiar the way that he's like not receiving a return of his investment because he's really he's really going for it as far people get upset that artists don't roll out their material right offset is literally doing the age old okay go to this thing go to this station, do this station for a marketing rollout for weeks upon weeks at a time.
Starting point is 00:06:11 And everybody, I mean, everybody is just looking at his videos but not listening to the music. I don't understand how his personality is not translating into his music. Like at this point, it seems like people view offset and Cardi B. At this point, you got to put Cardi B in the mix. You dropped a single with Kanye and Little Dirt called Hot, You Know What? This is a PG podcast. I can't say that. It flop.
Starting point is 00:06:37 She dropped the track with Megan the Stallion, title Bongos. That flop. Offset's dropping all these tracks that are not even making the top 200. Like, top 200. Obviously, this man is under Universal Music Group now, so you would think that he would get more publishing dollars. But with offset being under UMG, maybe he's not a priority. If he wasn't a priority on Atlantic, where everybody knows it was Little Baby,
Starting point is 00:07:04 why do you think you're going to be a priority on universal music group when they literally have the biggest artists in the world on their label? I mean, we're talking about Drake, Kanye, NBA young boy. Offset is not a priority at the slightest. Not saying that to discredit him, I'm just giving statistical facts and giving you my opinion on it. I don't know why his music is not being received the way it should be with him going on this type of marketing rollout and people seeing his personality. it's honestly befuddling. Like, I just, I can't call it. I literally can't call it because I'm going to listen to the album.
Starting point is 00:07:39 Obviously, I'm paying attention. But I don't even think it's people not paying attention. I think people see it and they still don't listen to the album. It's almost like a blue-faced and Christian rock situation. It's like people look at Offset for his personality. And then after that, it's like not listening to anything outside of that. It's kind of crazy, honestly. And I wonder how he's going to know.
Starting point is 00:08:02 navigate if this album, because right now it's really, it's really, I mean, his last three singles, I mean, it's just all the way off the charts. I mean, besides the one with Cardi B, that's at 55, you know, it's, this album's going to be very, it's going to be interesting. And Cuevo, let me see, I don't want to compare it to two, because I know, I know it's not like that with them anymore, but, um, I still have to do this. I'm sorry, I got to do it. You know what I mean? I got to be unbiased, you feel me? I just want to be right if I ain't bring it up. Cuevo sold 34,000 first week. And that's what, and that was with everybody saying that this album was a complete banger, right?
Starting point is 00:08:40 So he had the greatest, um, public reception to this album. Everybody's saying the straightfire, a lovely tribute to take off. It sold 32,000 first week. Offs this album, I'm projecting that it's only going to sell 10,000 to 20,000 first week. I know that sounds crazy. I know that sounds crazy. But I wouldn't be, I wouldn't be, if I saw a 15,000 first week for offset, I wouldn't be a surprise. But at the end of day, of course, I was wrong with the Doja Cat sales.
Starting point is 00:09:16 I thought she was going to sell more than she actually did because she is like the opposite of what Offs is going through. She was putting a phenomenal numbers on the charts. Her album came out. She sold 70 plus first week, which, you know, you could say is a lot, but we compare her with the superstars. So it's not a lot. Offsett, we're really comparing him to like basically,
Starting point is 00:09:34 middle field, right? So he doesn't have to sell crazy. He just can't flop, which is anything below what Cuevo did for his album. Not comparing it to just saying that 34,000 first week sales is not a good sale. Like that's basically that's not good. You know, no matter how great the public reception was, is not good sales to be on a major label, especially to be on Atlantic, one of the greatest hip-hop labels currently. Offset, hopefully I'm wrong. And hopefully, is what happened. Hopefully it's the same as what happened to Doja Cat.
Starting point is 00:10:10 Hopefully I'm just wrong in the first week sales and he completely blows my expectations out of the water. But I'm predicting 10 to 20,000 when it comes to first week sales. So with that being said, hey, click my link to my bio. Please listen to the album. There ain't no hate on offset.
Starting point is 00:10:27 Just honestly, I'm going to listen to it. Just like the Ray Shrimmer album, I still love it to this day. I listen to it. Obviously, nobody else is listening to it. I'm just going to keep saying, like, please listen to the album when it, uh, set it off by offset when it eventually comes out at midnight.
