Starting point is 00:00:03 Ladies and gentlemen, are we about to get into the next Sam Smith? As when it comes to Capitol UK president, Joe Charrington, that's exactly what he likened her to. Because when you look at Olivia Dean currently, having the 17th most played track in the world with Man I Need and the 53rd most played track in the world as far as so easy in parentheses to fall. in love. So when it comes to Olivia Dean, she put out her first album on DSPs title Messi back on June 30th, 2023. Now, this is the first time we've ever covered this particular artist on notorious mass effect. But guess what? The music industry, Ben recognized her as a breakout star. As if you don't know, she's currently opening up for Sabrina Carpenter's short and sweet arena run. And we already know the type of monumental impact that Sabrina Carpenter is putting up to the point where
Starting point is 00:01:07 Sabrina Carpenter currently has the fifth most played album. But then, hold up now, Olivia Dean is not too far from her as she currently has the seventh most play album in the world. So when we talk about, when we talk about notorious mass effect, pun intended, Olivia Dean is one of those artists that's currently rising up the charts. And I'm not going to say in the short amount of. time because of course whenever you're creating at this level 2023 to 2025 especially doing all the promo marketing runs that UMG which she is under UMG probably has her doing safe to say um it feels
Starting point is 00:01:47 more than just two years of trying to get people to acknowledge your work as the 26 year old british neo soul sensation has been taken over to masses as she came in with her album art of loving and everybody's been clamoring for it to the point where objectively speaking it debuted number one on the UK official albums chart earning her first her first time debuting number one on the UK official albums chart but also it earned 53,000 in its first week now of course at first glance you're probably staying to yourself well how does that break out here because superstars are out here putting up six figures as far as first week well when it comes to Olivia Dean the longevity is what I'm looking at for an album that came out in September 26th to still be the seventh most play album in the world
Starting point is 00:02:41 a month later a month later and she's still holding on to people listening to her music which I think is a great testament to her artistry and not only the artistry but the marketing strategies put behind her because of course Olivia Dean personally tries to balance a lot of the success with having some privacy meaning that she has recently deleted her TikTok to avoid quote over exposure you guys talk about a star that already knows how crazy and uh is parisocial the right word I think parisocial the fans can get so anyways when it comes to her own tour I do believe that she's having her across the Atlantic. I think that's what's called. Let me see. Across the Atlantic. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:03:36 It's the Art of Loving. The Art of Loving Live kicks off April 2026. And when it comes to that specifically, April 26 is probably what you need to look for. If you're a huge Olivia Dean fan, you know, aside from watching her open up for Sabrina Carpenter, her own tour, is happening April 26. And of course, the global promo for the album is going to hear Australia, Europe, and U.S. in the coming months. And we just talk it strictly from a marketing standpoint. So now, when you look at the track specifically, as far as her most popular track currently,
Starting point is 00:04:10 when you look at, man I need, safe to say that that's going to be one of the main factors as far as its marketing strategy. As you look at the overall message of that track, when you look at it released under Capital Records, Of course, the album, Art of Loving, the writers for that specific track, Man I Need was Tobias Jesso Jr. and Zach Nahom, the co-writer with Olivia Dean. And then the theme, once again, for a lot of these genres, meaning that were more like than you would assume is love. The theme is once again love for this particular track, and let's just say it's resonating with a lot of people.
Starting point is 00:04:52 And of course, one of the things that Olivia Dean is praised for it is her hopeful tone amid toxic masculinity. You guys. See, that's the problem. Safe to say that she's out here fighting the good old fight because guess what? Toxic masculinity has only been on the rise due to the Red Peel community, man. It's a sad day in history. You guys. See, that's the problem.
Starting point is 00:05:16 So shout to Olivia Dean. That's one of the things that they praise her for. And another thing is that as far as her music is definitely centered around a lot of Neo Soul, pop, jazz, and R&B. But of course, it has a lot of danceable sonically. It's very, the rhythmic pattern is basically to dance too, right? She makes a lot of danceable music. That's the main thing I'm trying to get across. And it's more joyful music.
Starting point is 00:05:43 That's why she's out here being recognized for having a lot of joy in her music amid masculinity. because of course the hopeful tone goes along with the joyful vibe so now you look at Olivia Dean doing phenomenal numbers in the UK it's only going to take it seems like it's not going to take that much more time for people to recognize her as far as globally because she already has a seventh most played album in the world currently and it's been a month out from her album release so it seems like she's going to be the next up and coming obviously we never know but one of the main things i've seen in the history of covering music is that if you're opening up for a superstar act and now people are starting to clamor for you by yourself you may just be next up in that specific
Starting point is 00:06:26 genre i mean taylor swift opened up for a lot of people before she came out and was the taylor swift we know of today uh we know as today but when it comes to olivia dean opening up for sabrina carpenter when we already know the type of massive impact Sabrina carpenter as i mean Sabrina carpenter currently has not one, not two, but five tracks on the charts currently, with her highest charting track being with Taylor Swift, the life of a showgirl. But the highest charting track for Sabrina Carpenter specifically, being Manchild, that's the 26 most played track in the world.
Starting point is 00:07:00 But then you look at Olivia Dean, and her highest charting track is Man I Need, which is the 17th most played track in the world. So Olivia Dean definitely has her own fan base, obviously opening up for Sabrina Carpenter Curtin does not hurt in the slightest. So shout out to her. I think she's one of more breakout artists, especially in this day and age of music not trending upwards because a lot of different options to listen to as far as besides music.
Starting point is 00:07:28 But of course, when it comes to Olivia Dean, it seems like she's going at it the right way as far as opening up for a superstar act, and then getting people to listen to her individually as far as her own fan base. So a lot of her inspirations, interestingly enough, is one of them is Lauren Hill. And another one is Aretha Franklin. So if you want to, you know, do that information as you will, as you will. But, you know, as far as that being some of your musical inspiration, oh, can't forget, another one is Whitney Houston for her.
Starting point is 00:07:58 So safe to say that she's definitely listening to some phenomenal music. And you can kind of hear it, especially when you listen to her music. because a lot of people who say their top five or their inspirations is usually older acts, but those specifically are some of the most iconic older acts that you can name as far as your inspirations. So when it comes to Olivia Dean, click my link to you in my bio. Let me know one of my social medias. What do you think about her music overall in 2025?
Starting point is 00:08:27 And also, have you heard the track, Man I Need? And will you be going to watch Olivia Dean live when she opens up for Sabrina Carpenter? are you going to wait to April 2026 when she starts her own tour
