Starting point is 00:01:09 Molly Cyrus. Demi Lovato. Selina Gomez. All right. You're probably asking yourself, why in the world is he bringing up these random names? Well, ladies and gentlemen, safe to say Olivia Rodriguez has joined a legendary list. of Disney actors going into a phenomenal music career. As not only did Olivia Rodriguez have a phenomenal first week sales putting up 470,000
Starting point is 00:01:45 with 261,000 physical copies as far as in her first week for her album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, but then you come to realize. Unfortunately, dope on me? I said, unfortunately. Is it okay? I got my dope on me? You know, over here at notorious Mass Effect, we get into the gaming and music IPs that notoriously affect the masses. So, of course,
Starting point is 00:02:10 for the month of May, Drake graced the cover as far as the music side, and of course, 007, grace the side, grace the cover for the music side. But when you come to Olivia Rodriguez, not only did she beat out Drake's first week sales, but she beat it out by
Starting point is 00:02:27 22,000 copies. But then, you know what I'm saying? I was like, damn, look at the state of hip hop. Like, what's going on? And of course, that's not the worst news in the world, being a big Drake fan. As Drake did slide to the third slide as far as the biggest first week sales in the year of 2026. Of course, putting Olivia Rodriguez at number two.
Starting point is 00:02:46 But BTS already rang once again, you know what I'm saying? Nah, because I got to say, you know, somebody predicted that BTS will have the biggest first week sales of 2026. I just don't know who that is. I know that ain't who I think it is. But whoever that person was that predicted it, you should probably rate that podcast five stars and share it to people who enjoy
Starting point is 00:03:09 music and gaming industry coverage. You know what I'm saying? Oh, my fault. Nah. Come on, Drewski. They ain't got to do all that. Come on, man. Anyways, let's get back into Olivia Rodriguez.
Starting point is 00:03:19 As, of course, I have her IG up right now, and when you look at it, you're probably thinking, why is she holding a balloon with a letter three on it. She went number one. Well, ladies and gentlemen, Olivia Rodriguez not only went number one
Starting point is 00:03:34 with this current album, you've seen pretty sad for a girl so in love, which is a very long title, if I do say so myself. But hey, obviously it worked. But she also had a third, it basically had her becoming an artist
Starting point is 00:03:53 to have third consecutive number one albums following her album sour in 2021 and of course guts in 2023 so safe to say it's a three peep so as you can tell that is why she has the number three balloon and these are the other pictures from uh analytic dreams video on spotify to see the video along with the audio but right now i'm showing the pictures from her post basically she captioned it saying wonderful wonderful week thank you guys times said a thousand you know 20s going on 80 i got to make that little bigger hold it second yeah times uh 10,000 there we go so basically these are all the pictures that she posted on her iG as far as the behind the scenes the things that she was uh you know obviously this is a little
Starting point is 00:04:37 celebration right here and these are all the pictures from it but that's not it ladies and gentlemen i know that ain't who i think it is i know that ain't who i think it is as you see right here olivia rodrigo has a particular picture up and she captioned it truly never felt more excited share a piece of news with you all. Oh, that's so nice. You guys. I've had a dream of doing this festival for years and I am so ecstatic. It's finally coming true.
Starting point is 00:05:10 Daisy Chain Fields features an all woman lineup and 100% no, not 20, not 30, not 40. All right, y'all get the point. but 100% of the net proceeds will go to charities dedicated to advancing and advocating for women and girls. I know that's right. You know what I'm saying? The lineup is truly insane and full of my heroes and friends. I firmly believe that joy, community, and music can be the drivers of meaningful change. And I'm hopeful that this festival will be joy.
Starting point is 00:05:56 just that I absolutely cannot wait to scream and dance and sing along with you guys August 29th. So after that very emotional posts and just being vulnerable to her audience, which I'm sure they appreciate. She posted, well, aside, next to the caption, she basically has the overall cover art
Starting point is 00:06:21 for the promotion as you see Olivia Rodriguez. You're going to have Chappelle Rowan. Oh, Doche's going to be there. what's up uh who else and then you have trying to see anybody else i know from this list um and it's basically i mean there's a lot of other names on there i'm not trying to disrespect i'm just talking about the ones i know i'm a little ignorant to the other artists but once again it's an all-woman line up is for charity i think this is a phenomenal event and she has some heavy here to showing up as you already know we've covered chapelle rowing and dochea a plethora of times over here at notorious
Starting point is 00:06:53 mass effect and they definitely have a lot going for themselves so for all of them to come together an event, August 29th at Great Park in Irvine, California. I mean, that's just a great feat. And it definitely showcased the power of Olivia Rodriguez to even be able to get all these artists in one place. So basically, when it comes to the coverage of musicians notoriously affected the masses, I mean, he's safe to say you already know who's going to cover or who's going to grace the cover of this month's music industry. As I think, when it comes to Olivia Rodriguez, one of the biggest standouts for me, especially looking at her
Starting point is 00:07:34 first week sales, was not the 470,000 number. The biggest surprising factor, I shouldn't say surprising, because we've seen it again, which we're about to get into, but basically the physical units is just through the roof. I mean, 273,000 out of the 470,000 first week sales, I mean, that's just insane. So now, when you're looking at the physical copies and you come to realize that vinals is very, very important and it's pushed with the utmost priority in the pop community. Because when I looked at the history of the amount of vinals being sold in one week, of course, you already know who popped up. You know that. I know that ain't who I think of it is. You know what I'm saying? The biggest gang is in the industry, of course, set the foundation.
Starting point is 00:08:27 path as far as the mammoth of vinyl she sold as far as Taylor Swift specifically and then Olivia Rodriguez is probably the follow-up artist as far as the artist who's able to push so many physical vinals and then of course in third place
Starting point is 00:08:43 would come well Harry Styles was slide into third place with his ability to sell vials and physical products to his fan base as when you look at the Olivia Rodriguez approach it's definitely Taylor Swift I'm not, you know, accusing her a copy.
Starting point is 00:08:59 You know what I'm saying? You guys. So Olivia Rodriguez fan base, don't get mad at me. I'm just saying the marketing factors is very similar to the Taylor Swift style approach, as not only did she have 15 plus physical additions, which is multiple vinyl colors, sign copies, CDs, cassettes, merch bundles. I mean, who has a cassette nowadays? All right, my fault.
Starting point is 00:09:21 So basically, when looking at the amount of physicals, they are, selling. I'm just like, when are we ever going to be able to do that in hip hop? But then, you know what I'm saying? I was like, damn, look at the state of hip hop. Like, what's going on? Now, of course, we cover all genres over here. You already know that I definitely prefer the R&B and hip hop genre. But of course, when it comes to covering the biggest notorious mass effectors in the music industry, time and time again, the pop artist is able to have these six figure digit type of physical units that they push to the audience. And for the
Starting point is 00:09:57 life of me i just can't figure out why in the world hip-hop artists can't do that is it okay i got my dope on me i mean if you didn't know when drake went number one i actually let me let me look that up right quick you see how many physical did so first we're you know nothing a little to make your research can't solve you're i'm saying okay so after that make you research safe to say drake with Iceman sold $463,000 first week. Okay, we already know that, right? But then pay attention to this particular number. This man, Aubrey Graham.
Starting point is 00:10:37 So 13,000 physical copies. You guys. See, that's the prize. Actually, no, no, that's people who actually bought the so that must have been like iTunes, because these are like actual album sales that's from an
Starting point is 00:10:51 on iTunes, you can actually hit the purchase button even though it's still digitally. Don't ask me how that works. But anyways, when it comes to actual CDs, finals, and cassettes. Guess how many he sold? But then, you know what I'm saying? I was like, damn, look at the state of hip hop. Like, what's going on?
Starting point is 00:11:06 He sold a whopping zero, ladies and gentlemen, just to kill all suspense. So when we're getting into Olivia Rodriguez selling 261,000 physical copies. And mind you, this ended up helping her surpass Drake by 22,000 because Drake had $463,000 as far as his first week sales. Olivia Rodriguez just had What's not 22,000 Why am I getting two different Okay, this breakdown saying
Starting point is 00:11:34 485,000 first week But the actual charts is saying 470,000 Anyways, okay, so let me do the math in my head So what was that? It's not 13 because that'll be 73 Is that 8,000? Let's see, it's all right, it is 8,000
Starting point is 00:11:48 Hey, you know what I'm saying? Somebody passed kindergarten Anyways, so basically Olivia Rodriguez go past Drake by 8,000 units. But then you look at the physical copies and you come to realize if hip hop artists was actually able to move physical units like pop artists, it will look a lot different.
Starting point is 00:12:04 But hey, I'm not excusing and I'm not giving an out to these hip hop musicians. I'm just saying that there's definitely a marketing strategy out there that is being perfected by these pop musicians selling enormous amount of physical product. And I think it will be incentivized. very incentive. Well, it'd be very helpful for you to figure out how in the world to copy these pop musicians as far as selling physical units. But anyways, so I just want to say that because you have to compare, you have to bring up Drake because y'all know what y'all say. Why are you always bringing up Drake? Well, you know, Drake just had the number two bestselling, well, had the second
Starting point is 00:12:44 biggest first week sales. And now Olivia Rodriguez beat him out for the second biggest first week sales, which is why I'm bringing up Drake in the first place. And the biggest factor on why I think the discrepancy is there as another name that i brought up earlier as far as vinals is mr harry stowles he sold 430 000 with kiss all the time disco occasionally and i believe as far as i'm not going to look up his physical units but his physical units was 146 000 because i think already had it yeah okay so yeah 146 000 was physical copies for harry styles out of his 430,000 first week sales so these physical units being moved by these pop musicians, I think is the biggest discreferencey is the biggest reason. The biggest tool being used to create that gap amongst their competitors in the music industry.
Starting point is 00:13:35 And I think other genres should definitely pay immense attention, heavy attention, so the way that they're able to sell these physical units. So anyways, with that being said, we already know that Olivia Rodriguez is great in her own right. So to bring it back full circle, I think Disney's. Disney in the way that they've created so many musical stars throughout the industry, some would say that Disney probably gets some type of ownership over these artists' musical careers. But on the other hand, after doing a little Mickey research myself, of course, before I started recording, you come to realize that it definitely makes sense on how these Disney artists,
Starting point is 00:14:17 Disney actors are able to go into being phenomenal musicians because we've seen it from the Nickelodeon side as far as Leon Thomas. as far as Ariana Grande. And now you're seeing a plethora of times, well, you've been seeing it from Disney. But basically the reason for this, in my opinion, is Disney already having a massive young fan base. I mean, it's a built-in audience. The performance training that you have in Disney,
Starting point is 00:14:38 as far as Disney training you in certain scenes to, of course, be an actor, but some shows will have you training and singing and dancing. So now you're honing your skills early. And then of course, being around Disney shows, you're going to run into a lot of industry execs. So now you have a lot of industry exposure as far as being able to learn the marketing, the media, and just how the Disney machine works as far as notoriously affected the masses. And maybe, just maybe you can learn some of that to use for yourself. And then, of course, it's basically cross-promotion because now people are going to see Olivia Rodriguez and like what she started off with, which was, what was that?
Starting point is 00:15:21 It's a bizarre work. I think that's how I kid you now. I've never seen that in my life. But I think that's how you pronounce it. That ran on Disney Channel from 2016 to 2019 and she was playing Paige Olivera. And then she, and you know what I saw this? I was like, hold up now. Now I don't remember Olivia Rodrigo in high school musical.
Starting point is 00:15:39 But to be fair, it was high school musical that series. So it was completely different. So high school musical, the series ran from 2019 to 2022. and she was part of the main cast slash recurring as Nini. And of course, once again, she wrote and performed a song titled All I Want, which was her first ever Hot 100 entry. So you come to realize that Disney is similar to the way that,
Starting point is 00:16:12 I don't know if I want to give a basketball analogy right now. I don't know what else to compare it to though. But basically, let's just talk about sports as a whole. Disney is comparable to somebody growing up with a parent already in the league. Like, you get to see and learn so many different things that's effective early. That way you can hone your skills and give you the highest chance because it's not automatic that you're going to become a huge musician. I mean, some have tried in the past as far as from Disney and from Nickelodeon. They failed.
Starting point is 00:16:46 We're not going to say any names. But basically, it gives you a lot of tools that's very effective early that you can implement in your career that gives you a much higher percentage on having success. Now, of course, not taking anything away from Olivia Rodriguez because I'm pretty sure every Disney actor wanted a musical career like Olivia Rodriguez. And only a handful of Disney actors actually found the way to convert their Disney fans to their musical career. So shout out to Olivia for that. But I just wanted to dive into the whole Disney actor into the music, uh, the music industry because I think that's very poignant as far as how much expert mentoring helps you in your early development.
Starting point is 00:17:32 People always say, oh, we need to pay the teachers more. We need to pay the teachers more. And then you come to realize that the reason why they're saying that is because you grow up with tools that set you apart from the pack and doesn't automatically incentive, uh, automatically make you successful. It gives you a much higher percentage of being successful if you're dealt the right deck of cars. You know how people say, oh, he just had a bad hand or whatever growing up. That's similar to having the opposite, having a great hand. A lot of mentors who's already in the field and could tell you certain things to avoid as a young little lad, right? So with that being said,
Starting point is 00:18:11 Olivia Rodriguez-Rodrigo is phenomenal. The reason why we're spending this much time on her is because she effectively notoriously she definitely notoriously affected the masses obviously having the second biggest first week sales in the year of 2026 and what's six months in so she can end up holding that slide because 470,000
Starting point is 00:18:30 first week sales is a very high number I don't know any of the artists that could surpass that other than a Taylor Swift bad bunny, the Adels of the world but like honestly it would have to be the cream of the crop that drops to overtake Olivia Rodriguez you know her surpassing
Starting point is 00:18:46 Drake. Is it okay? I got my dope on me? Admittedly, you know, me being petty. I knew she was going to knock off Jay Cole because the falloff did $280,000 first week having him as the fifth bestselling as the fifth highest first week sales in the year of 2026. I knew Olivia Rodriguez was going to knock him off, but I did not know that she was going to sell so much to overtake Drake. As I predicted that she was going to sell between, I think I said 300 to 350. I believe. I looked at her career because I already talked about her before, of course, and I went over her entire first week sales as far as for all her albums.
Starting point is 00:19:23 So I basically surmise that she would sell 300 to 350 or best case scenario being 370. Ladies and gentlemen, she did 470, so I was a little off, you know what I'm saying? But admittedly, I was underestimating Olivia Rodriguez fan base because this is just phenomenal numbers across the board.
Starting point is 00:19:44 This album also debuted number one in the United Kingdom in Australia. And of course, the capitalized off of this. She is going on a whole world tour titled The Unravel Tour. And that's starting September 25th, 2026, of course, of this year. And the opening show is in Hartford, Connecticut. And basically it's 86 days across North America, the UK, and Europe. So Hartford, Connecticut is where it starts. But in total, it's 80s.
Starting point is 00:20:14 86 dates across North America, the UK and Europe. And it's running through at least May 10th, 2027. And of course, she can end up extending her tour as is ending in Europe. So you never know if she's going to come out with an extension of her tour. But I mean, 86 days is a lot. I mean, she basically might as well be in the NBA. So third consecutive number one album for Olivia Rodriguez. 470,000 first week sales.
Starting point is 00:20:43 261,000 as far as physical units. Biggest week of Olivia Rodriguez's career. She's definitely on the high right now, literally in her prime as far as notoriously affecting the masses in the music industry, broke the 2026 records for a female album streaming and vinyl as far as in 20206. And of course, this last fact that breaks my heart.
Starting point is 00:21:08 Is it okay? I got my dope on me. Ended up surpassing Drake to have the second most first week sales for her album. And of course, it technically makes her number one as far as a solo act, because, you know, BTS is a group. And so I think this should showcase that not only is Olivia Rodriguez fan base very rabbit, but they're also very supportive to buy these multiple
Starting point is 00:21:31 variants and vinals and things that nature. So shout out to Libby Rodrigo, and of course, shout out to her fans out there. So at that being said, I could definitely see her winning a lot of Grammys because if you don't know, in 2022, she won a Grammy for Best New Artist. And she also won
Starting point is 00:21:54 Best Pop Vocal Album for Sauer. And then she won Best Pop Solo Performance for Driver's License. Safe to say, I'm not going to say she's an industry darling, but the stars are aligning for Olivia Rodriguez to have a phenomenal
Starting point is 00:22:09 outing at the upcoming Grammy Award show. I think an album of the year type of award could be on the table for Olivia Rodriguez. And with that being said, I actually listen to the album. You know what I'm saying? No, because, you know, obviously I'm the demographic, right? They obviously look at me to be like, hey, that's the demographic that Olivia's targeting. You know, obviously.
Starting point is 00:22:33 Anyways, so that being said, I wanted to give you all my personal review. So as far as the album, my personal review is going to be short because I listen to the entire album. and I just want to give you my favorites. When it comes to, ironically, maggot for brains, that's my favorite track off the album. Begged and What's Wrong with Me is my other two favorite tracks off of the album.
Starting point is 00:22:56 So off of the whole album, Magas for Brains, begged and what's wrong with me? I like those tracks off of the album. And I don't know, I thought it was a phenomenal listen. Now, personally, isn't my favorite album of the year. Of course, no. I mean, come on now.
Starting point is 00:23:11 Is it okay, I got my dope on me? You know who had my favorite album of the year. Is it okay? I got my dope on me. But as far as the listen, I enjoyed it. I just touched you my favorites off of Olivia Rodriguez's latest album. So when it comes to that, definitely click my link to you in my bio to follow me on my social media. And of course, if you're on Spotify, make sure to comment down below what date are you going to see Olivia Rodriguez on tour?
Starting point is 00:23:36 And of course, when it comes to her latest album, what is your favorite track?
